21st Aug 2024 (9 weeks ago)Moved into a property close to the centre of reading, I've been quite anxious due to how far I've moved from (more than 250 miles north of here), thankfully Usman has been excellent in answering my barrage of questions and lenient in a lot of ways including offering video tours in order to accommodate for my needs. As it stands so far I'm happy with the level of service I've received which has occasionally even been outside of office hours.

It had previously been on the market for 11 months with another agent without much success. I changed to Victoria's team in March 2024 and by the end of May we had a buyer interested. 22nd Oct 2024 (1 day ago)My property was only on the market for just over 2 weeks. However, I only had 3 viewings, all during the first week organised for the same time. We found our potential buyers ourselves via a Facebook group - they were not even aware our house was up for sale.

There was multiple times where our solicitors needed something chasing and this was done quickly and helped get the sale through. The staff were really friendly and polite when viewing the house and picking up the keys also.

James Old who dealt with my property was awesome and right from my first call till the end my experience with him and his team was a happy interaction. 10th May 2024 (24 weeks ago)I had a viewing scheduled at 3:30, but the agent was over 11 minutes late without any prior communication. When contacted, the agent attempted to deceive me about their arrival time. I understand that delays can occur however it's unacceptable to be dishonest about it. This lack of professionalism and honesty reflects poorly on the agency's service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend dealing with them.
14th Oct 2024 (9 days ago)We are having a nightmare with this company. We have now rented a property with them for a year. We turned up to the viewing, sat there for 10 minutes and no one showed. We called the office to be told they forgot to book it in and it would need to be rebooked, we had driven 4 hours to view this property as we were relocating so told them they had to send someone out. We were then rushed through the viewing. We ended up going ahead with the property and had no problems with this part of the process. However, anything that requires any form of management from Martin&Co is horrendous. They have 2 months to complete a gas safety check but left it to the last week they could legally have it done and then Oliver had a go at US for not being able to take a day off work to let them in. We got told it wasn't possible for them to give us a timed slot so we called British Gas ourselves and got told it was possible they just had to request it, M&Co wouldn't, so we did and I was able to work it around my job (but had to organise everything myself). We then got contacted about our yearly inspection, we called and booked it in for my day off, they never showed up. We called to find out that once again, they didn't book it in. We live in Wokingham but half of our communication comes from the Staines branch. We then got emailed 3 days before rent due to say they were changing the account we needed to pay, we went on to set it up and the bank stated it looked like a scam payment based on the account, we contacted the landlord as it was a Sunday and he said he hadn't authorised any bank change, so it did look like a scam! However, after contacting a very rude woman at M&Co they stated THEY were changing the bank account and we have no right to talk to our own landlord and to pay them immediately and we were lying about the warning from the bank (proof attached). We are on a fully managed contract and have had to organise everything ourselves so far, which is ludicrous. We are fed up with communication from this company and would never rent with them again.
6th Oct 2024 (17 days ago)This agent really helped me to find my first rental after over a month of looking. I was in contact mainly with Kyra Smith, who was very nice and very helpful. Her communication and she was very helpful with any enquiries I had. When I moved in, I got a box of goodies as a Welcome Pack, which was very sweet. Any issues I have at the flat, they're very quick to answer and sort the issue. They're a great agent and very easy to work with. I had to deduct two stars simply because of how bad the handyman they decided to work with is. You're much better off hiring your own handyman as MSBuilders half asks jobs and never fully fixes it just seals it for a couple of months. I've had ongoing issues with the shower since I moved in, and every single time, the handyman temporarily seals it for 2 months just for it to happen again. I couldn't live in my house that I paid rent for, FOR 2 WEEKS due to the incompetence of this handyman. And when he did eventually come after 2 weeks he didn't fit any of the issues and instead spent the entire time moaning about the state of my house and how I apparently 'don't clean it'. This incident occurred on Monday, 23rd September 2024, at around 11 am. This seems like a marketing con to keep my deposit, so I've kept evidence just in case. This handyman is just losing the agent more and more money. It really sucks because the agency itself is so good.

The property was held by two families with continual breakdown in communications also involved with probate. This agency guided the conveyance through to the end. Five star

They are consistently prompt in responses and always make themselves available to respond to any concerns. Abbas, Di and Chris have gone above and beyond to make bill payments, repair requests and tenant requirements as simple and smooth as possible. I highly recommend working with them.

Being my first time going through this process I was a little hesitant but Davis Tate made it super simple and clear from start to finish. A very professional service which made a stressful process straightforward and much easier than it could have been.
