I was given my first role as being an executor to my late friends estate in March. I asked Robert Penford to sell the property for me. Within 7 months of me taking on the this role he has sold the property and all contracts signed. I had no idea what to do and he just took over and dealt with everything for me. I could not have done this without him. I would certainly recommend him to any of my friends wishing to sell their property.... Read more

Can't believe how incompetent this company is! They've been ringing my private number for a year now in spite of not being interested in buying or selling or even being in the area! Several demands to remove my data have come to nought. They think I am someone else and clearly they are not serving that customer well either. How many numbers do they have left that I can block?... After complaining about the pathetically poor service Savills give, and the way in which they discard any complaints about the awful tenants they place in rental properties, they still have the arrogance to send one of their lackeys back to our apartment block to post flyers through all residents doors offering their services and proclaiming how professional they are! This company is a complete farce!!!! If you are a landlord, then I would advise you stay well clear of these clowns...... Read more

House buying and selling can be a very frustrating process. Mullie's helped us through this by being very responsive and proactive where necessary to get all buyers lined up and the sale completed. We found them very good value for money, that they provided a good service, were able to find/access the right buyers and flexible to our needs when things were difficult - ie we were a long way away from the property being sold. They did all this too with warmth and a sense of humour. Thank you Olly and Mullie. Good job. Top marks.... Read more

This firm are offering land at Charvil describing it as a unique opportunity to buy 'plots' which will accommodate a 4 bedroom house in 'landscaped gardens'. A quick perusal of the attached plan shows each plot to be landlocked and utterly inaccessible from the road and also that the entire site is recorded as being at the highest risk of flooding on the gov.uk website. These plots are utterly worthless and you are more likely to get consent to build on the moon than you are here. To market this land as 'plots' and an 'investment opportunity' shows an utter lack of professionalism and total disregard for their clients bordering on the fraudulent.... Read more

Worst estate agency ever!! If I could give you less than one start, I would! We are renting with Prospect Estate Agents in Maidenhead and since we paid the holding fee they have completely abandoned us! Anything that we requested had to be chased multiple times! Only when we tried to switch the heating on we realised that it does not work! We obviously reported it immediately and they told us that it would have been sorted within 3 days, but no one got in touch with us and we are still chasing them to get this fixed! A property with no heating should have not be rented without appropriate communications as it is not habitable! They promise you lots of things, but none of these gets done until you threat them!... Absolutely diabolical from start to finish. Extortionate fees (approx 3x more than I paid my previous estate agents and at least double what I have paid any other company); poor communication between staff members resulting in my having to take a morning off work to deal with an ID issue; messed us around twice with moving dates; as a management company they are no better - you are forced to use their FixFlo system to report faults and then nothing ever comes of it - then when you have something fixed yourself they have a go at you; getting stroppy when you don’t follow the rules in their welcome pack but then when you do they look at you blankly and tell you it’s not necessary; upon informing them that I had moved out had to remind the same member of staff three times to call the remaining tenant and not me; the list goes on. Besides one particularly helpful member of staff - Katrina, whom I couldn’t fault at all - my advice would be to avoid this branch/company like the plague.... Read more

Hilton Smythe Commercial

From the point of valuation, which was pleasingly accurate through to completion the service which we received was excellent. The sale was professionally progressed by Andy Ramsdale who assisted us to achieve the completion date which was agreed at the point of sale. When we accepted an offer, Andy made an additional 1 hour telephone appointment with us to run through all of the legal paperwork outlining exactly what our solicitor would require - this definitely helped to make the transaction smoother (even though it didn't feel like it at the time !!) We have already recommended the team at Hilton Smythe... Read more

Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more
