Although we weren’t in the position to buy in 2023, Dan always stayed in touch after giving us our initial consultation. Fast forward to 2026, Dan with all his expertise helped us understand our options and this time we started the journey properly!     We sold our property with Chancellor's recently and I must say the service from start to finish was exceptional. Rob gave us confidence in the sale from our first meeting for the valuation. He had very clear ideas on how to promote the property and what it was worth. We took a chance with Rob's suggested asking price that was significantly higher than quoted by other agents, and after a very quick launch to market and an open house the following week, we had multiple asking price offers and accepted an offer above the asking price, which was all the evidence we needed that we chose the right agent. Throughout the process, we were kept updated by Naomi and the office team, who did everything to make an ordinarily stressful time almost stress free.     Our experience with Parkers changed dramatically once we gave notice. Up until that point, they had been fairly good. But from the moment we informed them we were leaving, the service deteriorated sharply. What followed was a pattern of pressure, disruption and a shocking lack of empathy during the most difficult period of our lives. At the time, my wife was pregnant with a baby diagnosed with Patau Syndrome, a catastrophic genetic condition. In simple terms, it causes severe abnormalities and is very often fatal, with many babies dying before birth or shortly afterwards. Parkers were aware of this extremely serious situation, yet still chose to put pressure on us and create avoidable disruption at the worst possible time. Despite everything we were dealing with, we were pushed to accommodate a series of checks, including EPC and electrical related inspections, many of which could easily have been postponed until after we moved out, as we had requested. One supposed “urgent repair”, which was not urgent at all, went on for several hours. Contractors from ARK Group effectively forced my then pregnant wife out of the house for the day because the electricity could not be used, and I was asked whether I could take a day off work, even though I work from home. The complete lack of humanity and common sense was staggering. Parkers also arranged several viewings despite our request to keep disruption to a minimum. On one rainy day, people were allowed to walk through the house with their shoes on, bringing dirt and water inside, and agent Mark Brooker did absolutely nothing about it. Basic respect for someone’s home seemed entirely absent. Things became even worse after our son died. Shortly afterwards, Alice Beavis contacted us asking whether the new tenant could come to the property to take measurements. When I said I was not happy with this because our son had just died, her response was a brief apology followed almost immediately by another request for measurements. That exchange summed up the level of empathy we received, almost none. The final episodes were beyond unacceptable. Last Friday, the shower broke down. Despite Parkers claiming to have a system monitored 24 hours a day, nobody responded. The issue was only picked up on Monday after a call. A plumber then attended merely to inspect the problem and told us that approval would be needed before any repair could be carried out. We explained that our son’s funeral was the following day and begged for help, but nothing happened. A few days later, I called the contractors directly, Reading Professional Heating Services, and was told, without any sign of regret, that they had many other jobs on and that the matter had simply not been dealt with. In other words, it had been forgotten. I had even tried calling on the day of my son’s funeral and nobody replied. As if that were not enough, we are also dealing with a boiler making a noise so loud that it is impossible to sleep properly. Yet, as confirmed by Mark Brooker in his email, Parkers would not send anyone unless I first provided a video. That says everything about how they operate. Even when tenants report a serious issue affecting basic day to day living, the default response is not to help but to create another hurdle. What made all of this even worse was the attitude. Mark Brooker, instead of showing care or even asking whether my wife was physically able or medically advised to use a bath, simply insisted that we should “use the bath” as though that solved everything. It was careless, dismissive and completely inappropriate in the circumstances. And before Parkers try to dismiss this as theatrics, any anger or distress from me came only after more than a month of pressure, disruption, indifference and a shocking lack of compassion during the worst period of our lives. This was not just poor service. It was inhumane. I would never recommend Parkers to anyone. UPDATE (17/03/26): The repair was then booked for today, 17/03/26, and we even received a confirmation message. Nobody showed up.... Read more

    Extremely disappointing experience with Adams Estates. The checkout process felt unfair and heavily biased against the tenant. Many items listed in the report were inaccurate or related to normal wear and tear after two years of living in the property. Some conditions mentioned, such as mould, marks, and general ageing, were already present when I moved in, yet they were still included as issues at checkout. There were also claims about missing items that were actually present, which makes it hard to trust the accuracy of the inspection. The property was not newly renovated when I moved in, but the expectations at checkout felt unrealistic.     We have just had what I can only describe as a traumatic experience with this estate agent, they are absolutely appalling. Daniel Lowry did the valuation which was ok. His wife Julie staged the house which was fine. Niche did the photography & they were great. Richard did all the viewings & he was great. Then we accepted an offer & Jeremy was assigned ’Sales Progressor’ which I assume is an ironic title because I have never encountered anyone so ill-equipped to progress anything in my life. His only discernible talent appears to be sending utterly pointless WhatsApps. We accepted an offer in July of 2025 & despite J telling us in September & October that we were about to exchange contracts, several times (but no other detail) our solicitor then informed us on November 4th that there had been ‘no written communication from our buyers buyer since July’. When we called J to discuss this he went from being defensive to aggressive - blaming absolutely anyone & everyone but taking no responsibility what-so-ever himself. He suggested it was the fault of our buyers, their solicitors, our buyers buyer, their estate agents…absolutely anyone but him! He told us that ‘you are not the only one to be lied to here, I’ve been lied to as well!!’ A breathtaking lack of self awareness & he ended the conversation not with an apology as we had expected, no - he told us our buyers estate agents had been ‘b - ———-ing him!’ I have had the misfortune of dealing with a number of unprofessional & untrustworthy individuals in my time but Jeremy & Daniel top them all! Daniel became involved in proceedings when it was clear that Jeremy had not been progressing our sale AT ALL. Unfortunately rather than apologise & try to smooth things over, Daniel took the same (baffling) stance that Jeremy had! It was all someone else’s fault, it was nothing to do with Property Assistant & he made no attempt to apologise. I really think they need to ask for a refund from the training company they use because this ‘take no responsibility or accountability what-so-ever’ position is not compatible with decent business practice. When we issued PA with a deadline for exchanging contracts, Daniel’s response was to completely ignore us & cease communication until the date that we had given when he sent us a WhatsApp telling us we needed to get rid of our buyers & they would find us a new one?! We finally parted company with them In the New Year & went on the market with Winkworth (who were excellent) & whom I would recommend. There is a truly hilarious element to this sorry tale - Property Assistant actually has the audacity to charge above the market rate in selling fees!!!! To call Property Assistant’s business practices unprofessional churlish & immature would I fear be unfair to unprofessional churlish & immature people. *PLEASE DON’T LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES - avoid this circus like the plague**...
