17th Jan 2022 (2 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.
10th Oct 2023 (9 mo. ago)From a landmark buildings perspective of East Grinstead this is one of the outstanding gems of architectural heritage. A simply beautiful building. I've often looked at the wonderful construction. And wondered its history. I used to do dowsing as a hobby years ago and marvelled at the apparent fact of all the underground catacombs and tunnels - of which there are many - seem for some reason to make for under this impressive old building.

1st Jul 2024 (26 days ago)Honestly, do not waste your time with viewing properties with this company, I took time out of my day to view a basic flat for us to rent whilst we looked for another property to buy, having just sold our house. We were not once advised about the ‘strict referencing process’ they had from the landlord. Once we decided to move forward we were asked to provide affordability, which I did showing our incomes more than covers the rent without issues. After providing personal information and chasing, I got a one line response from the letting agent, saying the landlord rejected our application because we plan to go on holiday over Xmas. Such a waste of time and the flat remains on the market (since April).

We had got down to a choice of two agents and decided to use Savills because my eldest daughter had been so pleased with the effort the Cranbrook branch went to in order to overcome some last minute obstacles with her chain and keep her sale on track. This was definitely the right decision. The commission was competitively priced and overall we feel it was very easy from start to finish. The photos looked great, as did the write up. The team who showed people round the house were on time, with good feedback where they had any. Becky’s involvement throughout the entire process was definitely beneficial and all your help at the 11th hour to get it over the line to meet the buyers incredibly tight deadline was much appreciated. It’s not easy to go from offer to completed in 6 weeks, but we made it! So thank you for your professional yet warm and friendly service, which was very much appreciated.- 2nd Feb 2024 (25 weeks ago)The survey provided was efficient, helpful and friendly. The report was received promptly and all queries answered quickly and simply, including plenty of photos of the flat roof. It was good to find a surveyor who could survey a flat roof at a very competitive price.

Selling a house is never easy but they took on everything that came our way and put our minds at ease . 18th May 2024 (10 weeks ago)We had met many agents while looking for a flat and I have to say Steve was one of the best! Great communication, punctual, forthcoming, polite. No pressure and tricks that some other agents use. He also helped us out with a few "moving in" formalities (which he didn't have to do), which we are grateful for. We are very happy with our new home and highly recommend Steve & Bardens Estates.

He has an in-depth understanding of the local market and knew exactly how to stage the house to maximise its appeal. He quickly secured a buyer in a great position and was without exception available for any questions and to keep on top of the solicitors on both sides. He remained level headed through what can be a very stressful situation and I would unreservedly recommend him!

Michael was incredibly helpful, kind, and hard-working, consistently going the extra mile to assist and ensure a successful outcome. It comes as no surprise that he has been promoted to manager. In the past few weeks, I have dealt with many letting agents, and it has not always been a pleasant experience. However, Michael stands out as a stellar example of fantastic customer service. He is not only kind but also smart and innovative, willing to make a few extra calls to get things done. Darren, the owner, made an excellent decision in promoting him, as Michael creates a positive atmosphere for the entire office. Carlos, who also works there, is very kind and helpful as well. Unlike many other agents on the same street, there is no attitude or patronizing behavior from either of them. The property rental market in East Grinstead is tough, but with Michael, you are in safe hands. He could easily train the rest of the town on how to conduct business professionally. This is the second review I have written for Michael; the first was almost four years ago. Thank you very much for your professionalism. It’s evident that you have helped many other tenants and have received excellent reviews for your work.
