29th May 2024 (8 weeks ago)Honest and Frustrating Experience with Foxtons Property Management Notting Hill For the past few years, I used Foxtons Property Management in Notting Hill as a landlord living abroad. While I understand the value a good property management company can bring, unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. 1. Issues with Property Maintenance and Communication: Upon visiting the property myself, I discovered significant issues like humidity, mold on walls, balcony leaks, and rusty bathroom pipes. The periodic inventory surveys did not highlight the need for urgent interventions to fix these crucial maintenance problems. Despite the flat's condition, Foxtons seemed ready to re-rent it immediately. This would have undoubtedly led to a dissatisfied tenant, likely explaining the recent tenant turnover. Focusing solely on filling the flat seemed to overshadow the importance of maintaining the property and tenant satisfaction. Due to the neglected repairs, the flat needed to be taken off the market for several weeks. Communication with my property manager was slow and unreliable. E-mails often took days for a response, were sometimes mixed up, or not answered at all. 2. High Repair Costs and Unreturned Deposit: Foxtons stopped providing comparative quotes for repairs, presenting only a single, often significantly overpriced option. This lack of transparency made me feel they prioritized convenience over cost-effectiveness for the landlord. As we speak, I'm still waiting for the tenant's deposit return. Foxtons mentioned attempting negotiation, but their approach seems to have been not effective, leaving me still waiting and frustrated. Overall, being a landlord living abroad seeking a property management agency that prioritizes property care, tenant well-being, fair repair costs, and responsive communication, Foxtons wasn't the right fit for my needs. Please note: This review focuses on my experience only and represents my personal point of view.

From the first (of a few different) showings throughout signing for our flat, every single person we worked with at John D. Wood was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process; especially considering we were new to the unique intricacies of renting in the United Kingdom. Jessie went so far above and beyond to understand our specific needs, preferences, and timeline, and was incredibly responsive to answer any question we had. Being new to the United Kingdom and London, her knowledge of different neighbors and renting practices was hugely helpful. We never felt pressured to make a decision on a flat and appreciated her patience as we explored different options. It felt like Jessie trusted the relationship we had built and trusted the quality of their units to find a place we loved, rather than feeling the need to sell us on a place that we didn’t. That was such a refreshing experience and one that made all of the difference. We knew that if we were taking time to view a flat, it was a potential winner. Ultimately, Jessie helped us find the perfect flat that exceeded our expectations in every way. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and genuine care for us. 21st Jun 2024 (5 weeks ago)Best letting agency I dealt with the London branch and I am absolutely impressed with how well organised and structured their services are. Provided by professional, friendly and lovely agents. Starting from viewing the property to the check out communication was swift and clear. A lot of support provided from information on renting guidance to check out inventory, repairs services with a hotline. The repairs service could be through a link or a WhatsApp messaging line. They usually respond immediately and raise the job to the trades person or company they deal with. Most repairs were solved in a short time frame. They also send property care guide at the beginning of winter to flag any issues related to the weather. I got the impression that the agency is really good at ensuring both parties (the landlord and tenant ) are satisfied with any dealings or requests. Moreover, the contract they provided was comprehensive and detailed with no hidden clauses or vague statements. Everything was clearly stated ensuring our rights are protected as well as our duties as tenants clearly communicated. I definitely recommend this agency

10th May 2024 (11 weeks ago)I really appreciate Chestertons taking action based on the previous feedback. Agreement has since been reached and the deposit released. Previous feedback on March 2024: I've had some good and some bad experiences throughout my 1.5-year tenancy at a flat managed by Chesterons. Unfortunately it ended pretty poorly. Despite having handed over the keys at the end of January 2024, they have yet to complete the end-of-tenancy procedures and have been extremely unresponsive to email.

Everything was clear, documented and exactly as described. The agent failed to show up for a scheduled viewing, leaving me waiting for over half an hour. Despite calling their office twice to check on the agent’s whereabouts, there was no punctuality or communication from their side. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for clients' time is unacceptable. I would not recommend their services to anyone.
3rd Jul 2024 (24 days ago)We had the most amazing experience with Huw Howell-Pryce from Dutch & Dutch. I rang Dutch & Dutch to register with them as we were looking to move house (rental) and still hadn't found anything after 6 weeks of looking. Huw immediately knew what I was looking for and arranged for me to go and see an off market property that very same day. The flat was incredible - complete with a roof terrace. Huw was knowledgable, supportive, friendly, transparent and most importantly, was very punctual in responding to our many requests. He turned around the contract from viewing to contract completion within 3 days. Since we've moved in, Dutch & Dutch have been equally quick to respond and helpful in managing the property. They really are a cut above the rest, that's for sure!

18th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

They listed my property with beautiful pictures and found me a buyer very quickly. My sale process was slow due to solicitor debates but Hiten was so helpful throughout the process. He liaised with my buyer on my behalf and kept me up to date with things I needed to know. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality and integrity in an estate agent. A pleasure to work with you and thanks again for your service.
