Review of Knight Frank Property Management (KFPM): In summary, an expensive and very poor management service. The property managers themselves are reasonably competent but the overall system itself seems to be severely flawed - everything is outsourced to externals (inventories, check-ins, check-outs, periodic visits etc.) meaning the property managers are not familiar with the properties they manage since they never actually visit them. This can lead to issues at check-out re dilapidations. A seeming lack of communication between the lettings agents and KFPM can also lead to issues with re-letting and void periods. In my experience KFPM does not attempt to save their landlords money and will often use expensive contractors for works on the basis of one quotation only. My impression is further that the property managers will do everything they can to avoid difficult conversations with their tenants and would rather negotiate against their landlords. All in all a very poor service which comes at a high cost (in terms of high fees, expensive works, significant dilapidations which will never be fully recovered from departing tenants and void periods). Actually from my perspective there is very little "service" element to KFPM's property management service at all, and there is zero value-add. If one views one's property as an important asset / investment to be nurtured and financially optimised whilst providing high quality accommodation for tenants, I personally believe that this is the wrong agency for you.... This is the worst estate agent to deal with landlords as they are not professional at all I dealt with them and lost a client and a money around £700!! so i do not recommend them at if you are a Landlord do not deal with them! Plaza, Foxtons, Kay & Co. and Manor and co. are much much professional you will never have issue with them like what i faced with Chestertons do not deal with them if you do not want to loose money!... Absolutely horrible experience which to be honest I didn’t expect from such a brand as Chestertons!!! We had 3 flats rent it through them and for all of them with any exception half of our security deposit was retained against the law and totally unjustified!!! We paid huge amount of rent for some 1 bed which basically were some converted studio without any support when have issue in the apartments. Therefore we give the flats back with notice because of this and without any reason in all properties half of our security deposit was held so pleas make sure you will not end up in the same position as looks like this is like a habit from what we observe.... Useless branch for maintenance after you rent an apartment. Avoid. Every broker has access to the same properties. Now they are holding back my entire deposit over £25,000 since end November, despite we only have an issue over £2,000 ???? If you scroll through 161 reviews you will see, that 126 are from people, who have done this single review only. Probably friends and family. 71 days is how long it took Knight Frank to arrange a plumber to repair my shower cabin, making it possible to feel like a human being. I hope all you other KF tenants out there are experiencing better response to your flat issues, than I do. Never again.... Read more

It started out so good, but quickly sped downhill... TL;DR: They're nice on the way in, but shifty on the way out. THE GOOD: If you're only using them as a lettings agent, Leo Newman are all right (if expensive). They worked with us on the deposit (being new to the UK, it's hard to move money around). They provided a decent flat at an affordable rent (once I counter offered, that is). THE BAD: Leo Newman were also our property management company, so we had consistent run-arounds to get simple repairs performed. They did (eventually) fix things, such as the leak in the kitchen ceiling, but only after an exhaustive back and forth where they ask you to photograph what's wrong. THE UGLY: This is where it gets nasty. When our tenancy agreement came due after a year, they wanted to jack up the rent by 20%. Since the flat wasn't worth what they were asking, we countered with a more reasonable 2%. We were exemplary tenants; never late with rent, quiet, clean, and generally good neighbours. It took them weeks to accept our offer, but in the meantime we found a better flat in a nicer neighbourhood for just a bit more money. On moving in, we paid an additional deposit due to our small cat, bringing the total to £1500. Moving out, we followed all of their conditions to the letter, even to getting a professional deep cleaning. The only hitch was accessing our electrical account, which was paid on standing debit. I couldn't get into the account to show the £0 balance, but did give them the debit as proof of payment. That wasn't good enough, so they've withheld my £1500 deposit FOR WEEKS (this is in direct violation of the DPS, which states that funds can't be arbitrarily withheld and only the amount in dispute can be claimed, NOT the whole amount, and that the landlord has to show cause)....
