Sam, their handyman is a sweetheart! I have found my second home as well thanks to Karim and I like the fact that he does reply on time and tries quickly to sort out whatever his tenants need. Ask for him, as he’s amazing!
28th Mar 2024 (7 weeks ago)Matthew Stacy was the seller's agent in my recent purchase. Matthew's client is quite dis-organised (e.g. misplacing the keys for the flat on sale), but Matthew dealt with this with a sense of humor, eventually recovering the keys. During the transaction stage, for a while, my solicitor was acting quite slowly. I was able to get hold of lender's inquiries, and saw that one of the items was an electricity certificate. I figured that rather than waiting for my solicitor to talk to the seller's solicitor, I should just ask Matthew. He got the certificate for me the next day, and my solicitor was shocked when receiving it from me. The valuation turned out to be lower than my offer price, which meant that the bank would loan me less money. I was really out of cash by that time. and wanted a price reduction so that the sale would go through. Matthew was able to negotiate with the seller, and I got the price reduction I asked. Overall, a positive experience... Except that Matthew's task is not over even though the sale has completed - a fob is missing - and hopefully, Matthew will help getting it for me!
20th Feb 2024 (12 weeks ago)Bad experience I called to enquiry about a property but when I mentioned universal credit with no hesitation one of your colleagues say I don’t think so landlord takes universal credit. The answer is yes or no, not “I don't think” without verification. It looks like you discriminate against people who take benefits and disabled people.

11th May 2018 (6 years ago)I have found Mr A Philpott and his Team very helpful and it has been a pleasure working with them. I would not hesitate recommend them. I am also renting my property via them. They have always found a good and reliable tenant for the flat.

7th Apr 2021 (3 years ago)Took my money, informed me that the flat is off the market and I am still chasing them up for the refund. After I posted a review on google, suddenly they had the time to finally call me back. Not to refund my money though, to ask me why I posted a bad review and still no answer on when I will get my £400 back! Scammers!

A fantastic, super friendly and helpful letting agent. We were tenants but could see their efforts to work for the best for agreement parties with the committed terms and conditions. Our greatest gratitude to the special assistance from Alex, the branch head and his team - Joey, Dan and Max!

14th Apr 2024 (30 days ago)We paid 6 months in advance - at a premium price - for a luxury apartment. Upon arrival, we found severe water damage and mould in the apartment - as confirmed by third-party mould inspector. Evidence suggests they knew about the water damage months ago and neglected to fix it or tell us about it before we signed the lease. We never moved in - and were left scrambling to find something else (we live abroad and were coming for 6 months). They fixed the leak but refuse to adequately remove the mould, and don’t want to return our rent… even though mold inspection report says the place is hazardous to health! So now we’ve had to hire a lawyer and will likely have to take them to court. It’s a nightmare. The agents are negligent at best and deceptive at worst.
28th Mar 2024 (7 weeks ago)This is the worse management company and totally agree with the negative reviews below. They do not respond to queries, they pick and choose what they wish to provide a response to, very rarely, and they do not follow through on any procedures. There isn't any way to get your complaints dealt with and they do not provide any actual service to tenants. They provide a very baseline service and the rest has to be chased up on a regular basis and then they over charge for any requests made. There is no factual evidence to support their charging structure and they do not provide information when requested. Contact is minimal and they are quick to point out breaches when they have made many breaches themselves.

Our experience couldn’t have been more different; Stuart actually cared about our sale and knew the market and the business inside out. He was there at every step of the way through a fairly complicated sale. He gave excellent advice on everything, was quick to respond to any questions and was there for us whenever needed. We would not hesitate to recommend Story of Home, to anyone.
