During the time we have been renting and staying in a property in Chelmsford, She has given consistently provided great support being responsive, professional, and very helpful whenever we needed assistance. 29th May 2026 (26 days ago)Horrendous customer service and complete lack of accountability If I could give zero stars, I would. We enquired about a highly sought-after 5-bedroom letting and were told there was only one specific day available for viewings. We completely rearranged our schedules and drove nearly an hour (a 2-hour round trip) to attend. Upon arrival, the agent was nowhere to be found. When we called, it turned out the agent had booked us into a completely different 3-bedroom property at a totally different location. Because of their internal administrative blunder, we missed out on the correct property entirely, as it went under offer to people who were actually given the correct address. When we raised this with the branch manager, Christina, instead of apologizing professionally and offering a solution, she actively tried to shift the blame onto us. She argued that because their automated confirmation email contained the wrong address, it was our job to proofread their agent's data entry before traveling. She then bizarrely claimed that because the property was high demand, it didn’t matter that we were sent to the wrong house because we "might not have got it anyway." An absolute masterclass in gaslighting and shocking customer service. They refuse to take responsibility for their own staff's human errors. If you are a landlord, be aware that this agency is actively losing you good, proceedable tenants through pure incompetence and then alienating them afterwards. 2nd Feb 2026 (20 weeks ago)Made our selling process as smooth as possible. Great presentation of the property and advice on pitching it at the right place in the market. Top communications in organising and informing of viewings and prompt actions once offers and eventual sale was processed. Excellent all round from the whole team.
22nd Jan 2026 (22 weeks ago)The whole team at Arkwright’s in Saffron Walden have been a joy to work with. From initial contact, to the sales details - including a very inventive video, made on the only rainy day for weeks and weeks with a ‘Singing in the rain’ sound track! l had several viewings in the first week and an agreed sale within around 2 weeks ( after having been with another agent for 4 months with no viewings at all) The whole process has been easy, efficient, profession, respectful and friendly. I would highly recommend them and especially if you have a slightly quirky property. Thanks to all.

She was efficient in replying to my emails which was reassuring as the process of buying a shared ownership property is a bit of a long one and there is a lot of uncertainty at the beginning. I do thank her very much for all her help.
24th Mar 2026 (13 weeks ago)We can highly recommend Fine and Country Bishops Stortford. Our first initial contact was with Paula who was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She put us at ease and we felt confident that our sale was in the right hands. Debbie was OUTSTANDING. In what became a complex, difficult sale, she worked tirelessly to resolve all the issues that emerged. She initially introduced our buyers, who had seen our property but weren’t sold on the garden size. She encouraged them to take a look and they fell in love with it. Her communication skills are excellent and she kept us informed every step of the way. I really think that without her relentless input we may have thrown in the towel. The last few days were very stressful with mortgage offers expiring, vendors going back on original agreements and short windows of time, however, Debbie came through for us, even whilst she was ill. Thankyou so much for your effort and hardwork!!!

She's been clear, patient, and genuinely focused on what works for my situation rather than pushing a product. She explained my options in plain language and answered every question quickly. The guidance has given me real confidence going into the rest of the process. Will update once everything completes, but so far the experience has been excellent.
11th Jun 2026 (13 days ago)The Intercounty Saffron Walden sales team: Blake, Sarah, and Ash have managed the sale of our property through a particularly challenging process and did a fantastic job throughout. Halfway through the sale, a pipe burst and the property flooded, creating a major setback. The team did an outstanding job of keeping everything on track, communicating effectively with all parties, and ensuring the sale progressed smoothly through to completion. We are extremely grateful for their professionalism, dedication, and support, and would highly recommend them. Tom & Gail

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Having the team on What's App makes a big difference as when a problem arises, as inevitably it does, they are there like your own friends to try and help solve the issue. Very professional, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. With this agent you are not just a number to get rid of, they go out of their way to make things smooth. Plus their photography is great.

I habe never came across an Estate Agents where I felt that they had my best interest at heart until meeting Mike and Caroline. They are genuinely lovely people who are not only very professional but work tirelessly to get the deal across the line.
