As a first time buyer with very little knowledge, Anne ensured I felt guided and supported at all times, making sure I fully understood my options, what everything meant and doing everything in her power to get me the best mortgage deal and rates. She has also communicated with my solicitors and estate agents on my behalf taking away a massive burden. Most importantly, she’s always been at the other end of the phone when I’ve needed her.<br>Super professional, extremely lovely and very efficient- the time from having my first meeting, a DIP and a mortgage offer was 10 days! Worth every penny! ??

Moving home can be incredibly stressful, but having Jo in our corner made such a difference. Her care, support and determination meant so much to us throughout the whole process.<br><br>When completion day arrived and problems arose elsewhere in the chain, Jo was an absolute diamond. She went above and beyond to help keep everything moving, and I honestly don’t think we would have got it over the line without her.<br><br>Jo, thank you for everything you did for us. Their communication was excellent they kept me fully in the loop with regular updates and took the time to clearly explain every step of the process so I always knew exactly where things stood. They were genuinely proactive, anticipating issues and keeping everything moving smoothly without me having to chase.<br>What impressed me just as much is how well they look after my rental portfolio. As a landlord, I really value the care they show both me and my tenants. They handle everything professionally and thoughtfully, which gives me complete peace of mind.<br>If you’re selling a property in Halifax or need a reliable team to manage your rentals, Redwoods are the ones to go to. Outstanding service all round.

When things got a bit delayed with the solicitors, max the one who was dealing with my property had stepped in to chase everything up. wouldn't hesitate to recommend them very lovely staff.

She is absolutely brilliant at her job, and the care, effort and dedication she put into helping us made such a difference. Buying a home can be incredibly stressful, but having Sam supporting us made everything feel so much easier.<br>I can 100% see why Charnock Bates get a lot of the higher priced & luxurious houses, as they know exactly how to sell them and see it through from start to finish. They’re another level to other estate agents u have dealt with. There is no comparison.<br><br>We are now settling into our beautiful new home and are so grateful to everyone who helped us get here. 22nd Oct 2026 (11 days ago)We bought our house through Dawson's and Matt was incredible, l we had a very slow and lax solicitor and Matt was incredibly proactive and chased him regularly, keeping us updated at every chance and ensuring the agreed completion date was met. What could have been a stressful experience was a really positive experience thanks to Dawson's and Matt's hard work. If I was ever to sell, I would 100% use Dawson's for the sale. Cannot recommend enough

20th Oct 2026 (13 days ago)The team did an excellent job selling my house.<br><br>Always there to answer questions or discuss things, always on the ball trying to make sure things are moving at the right pace.<br><br>What made me decide to use Prothero in the first place was Adam's straightforward, honest, way of doing business and his passion (obsession??????) for anything property related. I didn't see that in other estate agencies.<br><br>I highly recommend this estate agent, and would definitely use them again in future.<br><br>Thanks ??????

13th Oct 2026 (20 days ago)Really disappointed in Jets for their lack of communication and lazy approach to business. I’d be really put off if I was a landlord listing my property with them.<br><br>I am ready to rent a property immediately and have found a suitable one listed.<br>I contacted on 17/09 about viewing the property which was available to let since August. I had to chase a response after several days and I was then offered a viewing date which was when I was away on holiday. I asked if another date was available - Jets said they would get back to me. I waited 2 weeks with no contact.<br>I have contacted again, as the house is still available, only to be offered one slot in middle of a working day next week which I cannot attend as I work.<br>There’s no option for viewings after work hours or weekends. How is anyone with the full time employment and earning requirements that Jets require to rent able to make these times!?<br><br>When I queried the time, they said that it was because one other viewing was also booked in for that day 15 minutes earlier. I asked them to confirm that they won’t accommodate another date or time as they are already making a trip to the property next Wednesday? Yes. Abysmal.<br><br>I hope the landlord sees this and realises that someone wants to rent their property in Northwich but their agents are refusing to accommodate a viewing.

15th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.

There were various bits of work which needed doing before the tenants moved in and Sian arranged and co-ordinated it all on my behalf. She carried out numerous viewings to ensure the right tenants were found and ensured the application process went quickly and smoothly, all the while keeping me fully up to date. Couldn't ask for more. A very comprehensive and thorough service. I feel reassured knowing Sian will be managing the property for me throughout the tenancy and beyond.

21st Aug 2025 (1 year ago)Property is marked as sold, initially they valued my property price very low if I hadn’t argued yet it sold within two weeks after being put on the market. Communication is very slow, no updates at all, everything is just at stand still no updates of what’s happening, Ella doesn’t respond to emails at all sometimes.

From the start, Katie impressed me with her prompt reply to my initial enquiry on a Sunday. She may not have the experience of some of the others I met, but she certainly showed enthusiasm and understood the complexities of selling a holiday cottage. I was able to contact her easily and she kept me fully in the picture. A buyer was found within a month. Highly recommend.
