8th May 2021 (5 years ago)We had a home buyers survey carried out by Jowett's and I'd struggle to recommend them. The survey missed several fairly obvious issues, and when I asked for further information on how to improve the energy efficiency of the property as this was commented on in the report I was given very generic advice which was totally non-specific to the property. Rather disappointing.

As a first time buyer with very little knowledge, Anne ensured I felt guided and supported at all times, making sure I fully understood my options, what everything meant and doing everything in her power to get me the best mortgage deal and rates. She has also communicated with my solicitors and estate agents on my behalf taking away a massive burden. Most importantly, she’s always been at the other end of the phone when I’ve needed her.<br>Super professional, extremely lovely and very efficient- the time from having my first meeting, a DIP and a mortgage offer was 10 days! Worth every penny! ??

Their communication, honesty, and reliability are second to none. Without a doubt the best estate agent in town. Special mention to Peter and Summer for their service on our recent purchase. 23rd Oct 2026 (10 days ago)?????<br><br>I cannot thank Bramleys in Elland enough, particularly Jo, who was absolutely pivotal in the sale of our bungalow and helping us get through the move to our new one.<br><br>From start to finish, nothing was ever too much trouble. Moving home can be incredibly stressful, but having Jo in our corner made such a difference. Her care, support and determination meant so much to us throughout the whole process.<br><br>When completion day arrived and problems arose elsewhere in the chain, Jo was an absolute diamond. She went above and beyond to help keep everything moving, and I honestly don’t think we would have got it over the line without her.<br><br>Jo, thank you for everything you did for us. We are so grateful for the part you played in getting us into our new home. You are a real credit to Bramleys, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and the team at Elland.
18th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Charge customer for a expensive cleaning service, when ever the room got broken toile cover and unclean floor from the beginning.Even the wall are dirty with broken mirror on the wall. They don't even want to repair the house ?just continue checking and annoying. Respond: The kitchen floor and ceiling are always flooded with water, but they do nothing for the leaking. I need to clean the floor for many times. They should pay for my cleaning service aswell. No matter how clean when I clean up the room, they always told the tenant it's not clean enough and charge for a expensive cleaning service. They just want to get your money from the deposit. Don't trust them !
30th Oct 2026 (3 days ago)Lancasters continue to disappoint me. They don't respond to emails, and give fake promises over the phone. I have been nothing but patient and polite. But it's beyond ridiculous how they have treated me with such disregard as a tenant.<br><br>I've made another report 6 months ago and absolutely has been done.<br>There are issues with damp and black mold, blocked plumbing, freezing draughts, leaking roof. (Most of which has actually been reported as far back as 2024.)<br><br>When I moved into the property they said it would be deep cleaned. It wasn’t. It took a full day of cleaning before moving our belongings because it was absolutely filthy.<br><br>After a few months I noticed many poorly done fixes to make the house appear rentable. Alot of things had just been left broken or unusable even though there was plenty of time for it to be fixed beforehand.<br><br>I'm extremely disappointed in Lancasters lack of service and professionalism.<br><br>Edit in response to Lancasters: Not even 3 days after this review was made my partner was contacted by the agent who is in charge of this property to ask if we had left the review. He asked me to remove his name from the review which I did, (through gritted teeth) but this was the only reason we were contacted and the only reason why any works took place. It took naming an agent and to actually get something done. (Even though that something hasn't been completely resolved.)<br><br>It took over a month for the repointing to be done to the house and for extractor fans to be put in the kitchen and bathroom (which somehow don't help)<br>The house is still freezing, the roof is still leaking when it rains and the toilet is still backed up. As of October 2026 it's now been EIGHT MONTHS since I've reported the leak and the plumbing. I contacted your "unnamed agent" again last week asking for an update and was fobbed off. Again.<br><br>So we're back to square one.<br><br>Also to try and gaslight your tenants by saying the review isn't verified because I'm not using the name on my birth certificate as a username is ridiculous to say the least. I feel like ripping my hair out every time I have to attempt contact with Lancasters to be met with dismissive responses.
19th Aug 2026 (11 weeks ago)I couldn’t recommend Redwoods highly enough after they sold my property in Halifax. From start to finish the whole experience was outstanding. Their communication was excellent they kept me fully in the loop with regular updates and took the time to clearly explain every step of the process so I always knew exactly where things stood. They were genuinely proactive, anticipating issues and keeping everything moving smoothly without me having to chase.<br>What impressed me just as much is how well they look after my rental portfolio. As a landlord, I really value the care they show both me and my tenants. They handle everything professionally and thoughtfully, which gives me complete peace of mind.<br>If you’re selling a property in Halifax or need a reliable team to manage your rentals, Redwoods are the ones to go to. Outstanding service all round.

She is absolutely brilliant at her job, and the care, effort and dedication she put into helping us made such a difference. Buying a home can be incredibly stressful, but having Sam supporting us made everything feel so much easier.<br>I can 100% see why Charnock Bates get a lot of the higher priced & luxurious houses, as they know exactly how to sell them and see it through from start to finish. They’re another level to other estate agents u have dealt with. There is no comparison.<br><br>We are now settling into our beautiful new home and are so grateful to everyone who helped us get here. 22nd Oct 2026 (11 days ago)We bought our house through Dawson's and Matt was incredible, l we had a very slow and lax solicitor and Matt was incredibly proactive and chased him regularly, keeping us updated at every chance and ensuring the agreed completion date was met. What could have been a stressful experience was a really positive experience thanks to Dawson's and Matt's hard work. If I was ever to sell, I would 100% use Dawson's for the sale. Cannot recommend enough

From the start, Katie impressed me with her prompt reply to my initial enquiry on a Sunday. She may not have the experience of some of the others I met, but she certainly showed enthusiasm and understood the complexities of selling a holiday cottage. I was able to contact her easily and she kept me fully in the picture. A buyer was found within a month. Highly recommend.
