8th May 2021 (5 years ago)We had a home buyers survey carried out by Jowett's and I'd struggle to recommend them. The survey missed several fairly obvious issues, and when I asked for further information on how to improve the energy efficiency of the property as this was commented on in the report I was given very generic advice which was totally non-specific to the property. Rather disappointing.

Anne communicated clearly, responded promptly to our concerns and worked hard secure a mortgage offer that suited our circumstances. Her support made a challenging process much easier, and I am very pleased to recommend her services.

It has been an emotional process with many ups and downs, and both my husband and I are truly grateful to Joeanne and Kerry for staying alongside us throughout. Their patience, understanding, and steady support meant a great deal during what was sometimes a stressful and uncertain time. Joeanne, in particular, was incredibly kind, reassuring, and encouraging when we needed it most. We deeply appreciate their professionalism, persistence, and genuine care in helping us reach this important milestone. 18th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Charge customer for a expensive cleaning service, when ever the room got broken toile cover and unclean floor from the beginning.Even the wall are dirty with broken mirror on the wall. They don't even want to repair the house ?just continue checking and annoying. Respond: The kitchen floor and ceiling are always flooded with water, but they do nothing for the leaking. I need to clean the floor for many times. They should pay for my cleaning service aswell. No matter how clean when I clean up the room, they always told the tenant it's not clean enough and charge for a expensive cleaning service. They just want to get your money from the deposit. Don't trust them !
9th Sep 2026 (8 days ago)1 star — Avoid if you want a letting agent that communicates and takes responsibility<br><br>Don’t leave a review until you have experienced their services as a tenant!<br><br>My experience with this letting agent has been exceptionally poor, and I would not recommend them.<br><br>The biggest issue has been the way problems are handled once something goes wrong. In my experience, communication has been unreliable, commitments have not been followed through, and I have repeatedly been left having to chase matters that should have been dealt with by the agent.<br><br>My dealings with Daniel White have been particularly disappointing. Meetings have been arranged and then not attended. I have been given assurances that were not followed through, and I have had to challenge information that I believe was inaccurate. The result is that I have had very little confidence in anything I have been told.<br><br>The agent has also handled harassment I have experienced within the building poorly. I have raised concerns about the behaviour I have been subjected to, but I have not felt that these concerns were taken seriously or dealt with appropriately. Rather than receiving clear communication, meaningful support or evidence of proactive action, I have been left feeling isolated and responsible for repeatedly chasing the matter myself.<br><br>A letting agent should take complaints about harassment seriously, respond promptly, keep tenants informed and take reasonable steps to address concerns—particularly where the behaviour affects a tenant’s safety, wellbeing or ability to live peacefully in their home. In my experience, that standard has not been met.<br><br>Most concerning has been the handling of essential maintenance. My boiler has been known to have serious problems for months. Their engineer has attended on multiple occasions attempting to fit parts, despite indicating that the boiler is too old to be realistically repaired. I have now been left without hot water for an extended period, yet the agent has still failed to take appropriate action.<br><br>This is not a minor inconvenience. Hot water is a basic necessity, and a letting agent should take an urgent and proactive approach when an essential service fails. Instead, I have experienced delays, excuses, missed meetings and repeated chasing.<br><br>What has been most frustrating is that I have made every effort to deal with these issues reasonably and through the proper channels. Unfortunately, the impression left is that problems are simply allowed to drag on until the tenant becomes exhausted from pursuing them.<br><br>A letting agent should provide professionalism, honesty, communication and accountability. Sadly, I have experienced very little of any of these.<br><br>If you are considering renting a property through this agent, I would strongly suggest you look very carefully at how they deal with existing tenants before committing yourself. Getting the keys is one thing; getting problems resolved afterwards is another.<br><br>Based entirely on my own experience, I would not use this letting agent again and I would not recommend them to prospective tenants.
19th Aug 2026 (29 days ago)I couldn’t recommend Redwoods highly enough after they sold my property in Halifax. From start to finish the whole experience was outstanding. Their communication was excellent they kept me fully in the loop with regular updates and took the time to clearly explain every step of the process so I always knew exactly where things stood. They were genuinely proactive, anticipating issues and keeping everything moving smoothly without me having to chase.<br>What impressed me just as much is how well they look after my rental portfolio. As a landlord, I really value the care they show both me and my tenants. They handle everything professionally and thoughtfully, which gives me complete peace of mind.<br>If you’re selling a property in Halifax or need a reliable team to manage your rentals, Redwoods are the ones to go to. Outstanding service all round.

6th Sep 2026 (11 days ago)Here’s the updated version with that removed:<br>Review of Whitegates (Letting Agents)<br>We moved into one of their properties 5 years ago. It was a 2-bed house at £725 per month. We liked the area and needed the space, so we took it. We never met the landlord at the start and only later realised the property belonged to the owner of Whitegates.<br>The house was let to us “as seen”, but it needed a lot of work. Paint was peeling in the dining room, small bedroom, bathroom and kitchen because it had been painted onto wet plaster (only one coat). The garden (front and back) was a mess. The hall banister wasn’t fitted properly and later came away from the wall when I slipped on the stairs (my own fault, no one else to blame).<br>We did some of the work ourselves and just got on with it. The more we asked for repairs, the less actually happened. The boiler was nursed along for 5 years until they were finally forced to replace it. They fitted the cheapest one they could find and it still took a week.<br>Earlier this year we went away to visit family. While we were gone, plaster collapsed from the ceiling in the main bedroom – pieces bigger than my hand. If any of that had hit our 7-month-old son he would have been in hospital. When we raised it, their response was basically “you have a spare room, sleep there.” No apology, no concern for the baby, no offer of help. Just cold and dismissive.<br>A painter who came round to look at the main bedroom roof/ceiling told us things that didn’t surprise us at all by that point. We were also threatened when we missed a single payment. Rent went up £50 every year and was heading for £900 by the time we left. They claimed it was just “keeping up with market increases.”<br>It was only when we gave notice that things suddenly started getting done. They also changed our tenancy agreement from yearly to monthly, then switched it back to the original yearly agreement, and then had the audacity to claim we owed them rent arrears because we left early.<br>When we left we cleaned the whole place thoroughly and repainted (I have the photos). The only thing we didn’t tackle was the oven, which had stopped working properly – another email that was ignored. If they try to claim they never received our emails about these issues, I still have them all.<br>How they ever won “Letting Agents of the Year” is beyond me. We would not recommend them to anyone. In our experience they were unprofessional, unresponsive and completely lacking in care for their tenants.<br>I also tried contacting the local paper and the mayor about this, but neither responded to my emails. These days it seems rogue landlords and estate agents aren’t considered big news, but companies like this need putting in the public eye. Hopefully the greedy, nasty people who work there will get what’s coming to them.

4th Sep 2026 (13 days ago)We used Dawsons to sell our property after not having any success with a different local estate agents. We were really impressed with Matt and the team. They were always extremely good at keeping us informed about any enquiries and they always came back to us with feedback after viewings. They did the viewings on our behalf, and they were always fantastic and there were never any issues with availability. We would highly recommend them as the level of service was first class and the price was extremely competitive.

Redroots works well with its solicitor partners, HSR Law, resulting in a seamlessly streamlined and integrated process. Despite unexpected Land Registry complications which threatened to impede progress, our personal Redroots Sales Agent gave us excellent counsel and guidance throughout. I would highly recommend Redroots for a smooth, reassuring and efficient sales experience.
