29th May 2026 (22 days ago)Horrendous customer service and complete lack of accountability If I could give zero stars, I would. We enquired about a highly sought-after 5-bedroom letting and were told there was only one specific day available for viewings. We completely rearranged our schedules and drove nearly an hour (a 2-hour round trip) to attend. Upon arrival, the agent was nowhere to be found. When we called, it turned out the agent had booked us into a completely different 3-bedroom property at a totally different location. Because of their internal administrative blunder, we missed out on the correct property entirely, as it went under offer to people who were actually given the correct address. When we raised this with the branch manager, Christina, instead of apologizing professionally and offering a solution, she actively tried to shift the blame onto us. She argued that because their automated confirmation email contained the wrong address, it was our job to proofread their agent's data entry before traveling. She then bizarrely claimed that because the property was high demand, it didn’t matter that we were sent to the wrong house because we "might not have got it anyway." An absolute masterclass in gaslighting and shocking customer service. They refuse to take responsibility for their own staff's human errors. If you are a landlord, be aware that this agency is actively losing you good, proceedable tenants through pure incompetence and then alienating them afterwards. Avoid at all costs.

15th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)WM Brown and in particular a young lady called Erin, have been extremely helpful throughout both our own house sale and our purchase of a new home in Norfolk. As we were selling privately (no estate agent), it was difficult for us to chase the progress of our own sale chain, yet Erin was helpful with this as well as ensuring all went smoothly with our purchase. All questions we had were answered promptly and she was always proactive, with a cheery, yet thoroughly professional approach. On a general point, we found Wm Brown in Watton, and other branches in Swaffham, Downham Market, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, to name just a few, have proved probably the most proactive chain of estate agents throughout our near year long search for a new home.- 5th Jun 2026 (15 days ago)We recently used Abbots (Watton) to both buy and sell our house, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. ?A special shout out goes to Diane, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire journey. Her communication was top notch, she kept us updated every step of the way, answered all of our questions instantly, and truly went above and beyond.

She has been absolute brilliant in our search for our new home, always available to answer queries even when they seem trivial, provides quick and clear responses and is so friendly.
10th Jun 2026 (10 days ago)£200 valuation fee!!! We first looked at going with shires to sell our property as they had a house we was set on purchasing made sense we went with them. We was told that there was certain things they could do to get us said house ,but we need to get on the market ASAP, We signed contract thinking that as with any contract we would have a 14 day cooling off period, so after lots of promises we where then told the property had sold which gave us some breathing space to take a step back and shop about ,we were offered a fantastic rate and was given amazing service from another agent. We informed shires we would like to terminate our contract within the 14 days cooling off period , they took this news badly, even bad mouthing other agents saying they can't do what we can ect ect ,seemed to take it personally, We was then sent a Bill for just over £200 for a valuation fee which was in small print My point being there is no cooling off period without excessive charges so just beware ,and of underhand tactics

Patrick Kavanagh couldn’t do enough to help and came across as a genuine ,friendly and trustworthy individual and a credit to his business and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend any prospective buyer to get in contact and feel they are in good hands

Lizzy in particular did an amazing job to keep on top of things due to a protracted conveyancing process which was out of our control. Without her assistance we'd probably still not have completed, so we're very grateful to her and the team in Attleborough.

Each person we engaged with from the office was incredibly professional and gave great advice and support, metaphorically holding our hands through the process. Stand out mentions in particular to Joe, Nicola and Matthew who always went above and beyond in looking after us and we also appreciated all the help from Morgan and Chelsea with viewings. They had regular check-ins and updates with us and they were always contactable and responsive to messages and questions which we really valued. Very pleased with the whole process and would highly recommend them.
