A really friendly agency. Provided prompt service. They were efficient, communicative and the process was relatively straightforward and easy. Couldn't ask for anything more. Elise was also really helpful, knowledgeable and kind.... Read more

I would not give Connell any stars if I had a choice, they we one of the worst agents I have letted from. They try to portray themselves as a good estate agent however they are poorly run and do not know how to communicate correctly. They advised us we can leave the tenancy early however the day we moved out they stated the landlord never have then authorization to do so. We have been left paying 2 sets of rent. We have now finally completed the tenancy and are still waiting for our deposit of over £1000. They are extortionate fees to move in the most expensive I have ever come across! I never get a full response they will try and bush off what I am complaining about. Once when I said I have been speaking with a solicitor about the on going issue, we had it in writing the landlord said we could leave early, Tracey Dumont stated "I understand you have been speaking with your friends". They are condescending and think they are a lot higher than other when really they are estate agents. The Landlord is also a sham! DO NOT GO THROUGH CONNELLS!... Read more

As a first time buyer, I had visited many estate agents looking for help, however I soon ended up choosing to continue my mortgage application and property searches through Abbotts due to the excellent service received from Harry and Eva (for the mortgage). A big thank you to the both of them, as they are both a credit to the company. Out of all the estate agents I had visited, Harry was the most helpful and provided me with lots of properties to view and always called back to ask me what I had thought. Great service and communication from all, thanks for making it all happen for me!... Read more

I did put an offer for a property with Abbotts, I've asked to provide decision in principle which I did and again I was asked to see their mortgage advisor with all the documents if this is correct. My mortgage broker is from a renowned company, I've provided my mortgage advisor phone number email etc. Still sales negotiator wanted me to go with all the documents. I found they are too pushy and they do not believe the paperwork I've provided. They think they are better then other estate agents in Ipswich. If you have to buy or sell via them, I would advise to avoid them.... Read more

With this having been the first time dealing with William H Brown (Ipswich), I am appalled with the service that myself and my partner have encountered. At first, when calling to book a viewing of one of their properties, the service was very friendly and efficient. The lady I dealt with on the phone (Lil or Lillie) asked plenty of questions and booked in the appointment quickly, keeping me informed as she arranged it. However, any service thereafter dramatically deteriorated. Myself and my partner viewed one of their properties on the market, and made an offer on the same day only a couple of hours after the viewing. When calling William H Brown to make the offer, the response was not as I had expected. I was informed that not only did she believe that the offer would not be accepted, but that there was also another offer that had been made and that they were using the financial/mortgage services of William H Brown. I was told that for my offer to be put forward, I would therefore need to go down to my local branch to speak to their advisors. I explained our situation, that we have a mortgage broker already in place and that we were happy with his services and he could provide the confirmation that they needed in order to put forward our offer. This then lead to 2/3 more phone calls on that day demanding us to still go into branch, resulting in a ‘dispute’ in which lead me to believe that our offer could not be put forward without visiting them, and that the other offer that had been made was much more likely to secure the property than we were. Within a very short amount of time after the last phone call, I received another informing us that both offers had been declined, leaving us questioning as to whether the offer was even put forward in the first place. The second point of contact was with the same employee, to whom I put forward a higher offer only to be accosted with the same quick opinionated response of ‘I don’t think she will accept that offer’, and that she will get back to me in regards to the offer. The final point of contact was a day and half later, having not heard anything since making the secondary offer to be told that the other offer was accepted on the property and no more could be done. We believe from the moment we made our first offer and informed them that we would not be using William H Brown's mortgage services that we were at a disadvantage and treated totally unfairly, and strongly question as to whether our offers were even put forward to the vendor. The entire situation was controlled, manipulated with the estate agents simply using delay tactics in order to get the other people offering (using your services!!) the property. As first time buyers, having the experience of making offers for a property with the chance of potentially securing our first home, is in our view an exciting time, only to be hindered by this estate agent. It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that we will be viewing any property marketed through William H Brown again, and will certainly not be using their services if we were to sell. Not only that, we will be sure to let others around us know of this poor service and the 'entrapment' of having to use your mortgage services.... Read more

Found your dream property with Nicholas Estates? LOOK ELSEWHERE. Do NOT rent from this mind-bogglingly abysmal agency. I rented a 1 bed flat on the waterfront from Nicholas Estates in July 2016, and as soon as I had signed the tenancy agreement they showed their true colours - uncooperative, rude, and arrogant individuals who do not care for their paying customers. Every issue became a hassle to resolve, calls were never returned (even out of 40+ calls!), and just one week into the tenancy I found myself having to hide my phone number in order to get an answer from them! When viewing the property, I was promised that the property would have been fully cleaned and redecorated, but that certainly did NOT happen! The kitchen was disgusting - the washer drier was full of mould, the chopping boards were covered in black mould (which they'd attempted to hide by placing the mouldy sides together in a drawer!), the worktop around the sink had rotted through as the sealant had failed, the work surfaces were sticky from the grime on them, and rubbish from the old tenant was just left there! The windows had large amounts of mould on the seals, and the carpets looked like they hadn’t been washed in the building’s 12 year existence! Upon cleaning the carpet ourselves the water came out entirely black after multiple washes. The bathroom was full of peeling paint and more mould! Appliances marked as working on the inventory were also not in any working order. Noticed a mould theme? The extractor fan in the bathroom was reported as broken in August - it took until November to get a visit from the maintenance manager and contractor to take a look. Even then, the maintenance manager said it was perfectly fine, despite it making a very loud clicking noise and refusing to turn on! All issues were reported to the agency within the first two weeks, yet all were ignored! Despite having proof from Royal Mail it had been signed for, they declined all knowledge they had received it until the last day. The maintenance contractor eventually visited to look at the worktop, and simply resealed it OVER the mouldy sealant. The worktops were never replaced, even after saying they were going to be for the next 5 months! The letting agency also made an unscheduled unannounced visit to the apartment while I was out of town, and upon my return I discovered that all of the cupboards in the kitchen had been left open by them - very worrying to come back late at night and see someone has been in your home! For this, I got an incredibly half hearted apology, with no recognition from them as to how unprofessional their actions were. Further maintenance issues developed due to the agency refusing to fix existing problems. The bathroom floor started to bend (as the moisture issues had been allowed to carry on unchecked - even after I had purchased dehumidifiers, had heating on, opened windows to let vapour out), and paint continued to peel. Weirdly enough, even though the maintenance manager refused to accept it as the cause, as soon as the extractor fan was fixed, the moisture issues in the apartment stopped! Upon handing in my tenancy notice, despite the end date being the 31st of August, they marked the property as available from the 5th of August - while I was still going to be there! Furthermore, the landlord didn’t even want new tenants, so they hadn’t bothered to consult with him first before arranging viewings. Upon leaving, they then tried to claim a large sum of money for cleaning the flat - cleaning all of the items that they hadn't bothered to clean before! I contested the fee, and unsurprisingly won. If they're trying to hold your deposit and you have evidence of how it was when you moved in and moved out, don't be afraid to contest their claims! Let this be the review you listen to. Nicholas Estates are not to be trusted. Arrogant staff, absence of service, utter contempt towards their paying customers. They embody everything that is wrong with renting in the UK right now. Heed my warning. Look for a home elsewhere. You'll thank me later.... Read more

Have been with Keystone for 5 years and I rarely have a problem. They have always been responsive to repairs and when I call, I get a fast response. I know I can always get stuff fixed quickly. They have accommodated my needs as a disabled person. Have never had any problems with the staff or the trades people. I have never had them drop in unexpectedly as they have always sent a letter. This is my experience and I am happy so far.... Read more

Would be very careful here, I paid for a back ground check and had the viewing. The next day I went back the guy told me to pay £300 plus VAT To secure the place and to get the application rolling.. he then rang me an hour after taking my £300 + vat telling me the check had just came back.. Why would he make me pay applications fee if he didn't get the background check already..??? He made me come back to pay applications fee to then tell me after I couldn't rent the property ?? I would not recommend at all! This was my first time trying to rent a property/dealing with an estate agent and they obviously knew that and took advantage of me. If your not familiar with renting and dealing with estate agents I would defently avoid this one... Read more
