13th Mar 2026 (16 days ago)I don’t often leave reviews, but this one is well deserved for Dave Webb. I’m a conveyancer and have been working in conveyancing for some time now, so I’ve dealt with countless estate agents. Unfortunately, many tend to leave everything to the conveyancers when it comes to chasing updates and progressing the matter. Dave has been outstanding throughout this transaction. He provided consistent updates and was extremely helpful in supporting the sellers with even the smallest matters, particularly when it came to obtaining documents and information from third parties, and ensuring the buyers’ requests were easily manageable for the client. This was also a chain of 8 properties, yet Dave stayed proactive and involved throughout while many other agents in the chain seemed content to sit back. It genuinely makes a difference working with someone who is engaged and committed to helping keep things moving. Dave was exactly that. Highly recommended.

7th Nov 2024 (1 year ago)No. Just no. Constant trespassing on property by teens, old enough to know better, have led us to complain - to no avail.l, so must go civil, apparently. They wait until we are not home, throwing balls at house, or playing on our patio, uninvited and while we are out, until one of them gets hurt on our owned property, we are left responsible. Countless emails to this agent, and videos. Was asked by police if I wanted to file a formal report and said no, thinking this agent would be reasonable as in, how would he like it if this were happening to him? A decision I regret, but now see this is harassment of us, as two older women living together, alone, perhaps, to regard us with interpreted LGBT discrimination? Or probably seen as vulnerable? Not sure which…because I cannot understand why an agent wouldn’t want to ensure the peace and safety of surrounding properties, and their owners. Makes no sense. Also, These are Not children - teens, old enough to know better. Tried speaking, kindly, to one of the mothers of these kids only to be sworn at for all neighbourhood to hear. Sent to agent - nothing. Rules for freehold property ownership not being upheld, and intimidation and harassment of two older women living alone.

Having known both of them for a number of years I can honestly say that they both display a sense of pride and care in their ability to look after people and do what best for their client, nothing seems too much trouble for them. A quality sadly lacking in a lot of the industry. Highly recommended.

I'm extremely happy with the service I received and the professionalism and knowledge he shared. I would highly recommend. The house sale went through smoothly from the very start to the completion date. I'm over the moon. If I could give 6 stars I would.

The team at Brown & Merry are very organised, friendly, and efficient. Since I live outside the UK, it was important for me to leave my property in safe hands, and they managed to rent it out in no time. I recommend Brown & Merry.

2nd Mar 2026 (27 days ago)We dealt with Sophia when looking at a potential property to purchase. She was incredibly efficient and even willing to meet us an hour later to view the property. Not only was this appreciated but by the time we were home she had found answers for the majority of our questions. When trying to find a home to buy, this level of dedication was noticed and really appreciated. Sadly the property wasn't meant to be when our offer was refused but Sophia phoned to check in with us. Thoroughly recommend Taylors and Sophia specifically!

11th Mar 2026 (18 days ago)Our experience selling with them was more than disappointing from start to finish. They are rude, condescending and bad professionals to the point that I was tempted more than once to pull off in order to avoid them getting any money from me. Tom tried once to convince me in the rudest way, as if I didn’t understand plain English, that I had to hire an architect and spend thousands of pounds in order to get the second floor of my property regularised when the property was build that way in 1853. One call from me to Building Control and the issue was solved. On one occasion Tom called saying the buyers wanted to come on the next day to take measures of the place. We accepted. On the day of the visit nobody came and no one contacted us. When we called to the office Tom was on his day off and David said “let me see what happened and I’ll come back to you”. We didn’t have any news back. Weeks after, when I met the buyers in person, I learned that they never requested the visit in first place. I could relate many other negative experiences to illustrate how incompetent and bad professional Tom is, but I will just summarise by saying that I would stay away from them at all costs.

It’s clear that she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about providing a high level of service. In an industry where good communication and reliability can sometimes be hard to find, Laura has been a breath of fresh air. Her dedication and attention to detail have made a real difference for us, and it’s very reassuring to know that our property is being looked after by someone so committed. She kept us updated and in the loop from start to finish. A real professional but more than that a very likeable young lady. I would recommend these guys every time, in fact, they are now selling another property for us.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

10th May 2022 (3 years ago)1st Choice a friendly family run business always maintained excellent communication which I really liked, if I had any problem weekday, weekend, or on a holiday, Kelly would reply back to my messages for support very quickly and same day. When I moved in to the property it was fully refurbished to an excellent standard. One time during winter I had a problem with my boiler with no heating for a few days. I made one call to 1st Choice and Mark dropped off some electric heaters, untill we got it fixed through Mear's. Anyone looking for property to rent then I would definatley recommend 1st Choice.

He also put us onto an excellent solicitor who always kept us unto date with progress. Overall marketing of our property was good with Ariel views and good internal photos.

The marketing was of a very high standard and we were very pleased with how our property was presented and marketed. Sharon was always friendly and genuinely a pleasure to work with. Communication especially was really good throughout the process. Regular updates and dialogue definitely helped make a potentially stressful process a lot more easier to manage. A big thank you to Sharon and the supporting team. We had a very positive experience and we wouldn't hesitate to use you again and we are more than happy to recommend you.

17th Nov 2025 (19 weeks ago)They didn’t sell my house. I had to pull them off and go for a PTX as they began to give me anxiety. They didn’t keep me up to date and when it came to speaking to my PTX company they gave inaccurate information which affected my valuation. They seem like lovely people but I don’t think I will recommend them to anyone as there were just too many issues that I felt I didn’t have to deal with.

Got me through the mud of the house buying process and was very helpful with advise! Was friendly and personal, but kept it professional. Would highly recommend!
