Our house was on the market for about six weeks and we only had two viewings during that time, so in the end we decided to take it off the market as the experience wasn’t quite what we’d hoped for. One thing I didn’t like was that we met one estate agent for our valuation, initial consultation, and photos, but after that we never heard from him again. Instead, a different agent we’d never met carried out the viewings. This person didn’t know us or what we wanted potential buyers to know about our house, including specific details we’d shared with the original agent. We were disappointed as we expected the person we’d built rapport with to be the one doing the viewings

6th Feb 2026 (5 weeks ago)My experience renting through Peter Alan has been absolutely appalling. The property is poorly maintained and often left in an untidy and unacceptable condition. When issues are reported, the contractors sent out appear incompetent and unqualified, repeatedly carrying out substandard work that does not resolve the problems. Repairs are rushed, poorly done, and nowhere near an acceptable standard. Raising concerns with staff has been equally unpleasant. The attitude from staff members is consistently unprofessional, arrogant, and rude. I’ve experienced condescending behaviour, poor phone manners, and a complete lack of empathy or accountability when reporting genuine property issues. To make matters worse, the rent being charged is scandalous given the poor living conditions. The rent has increased by £350 within just 18 months, far beyond what is reasonable during a cost-of-living crisis, especially for a property that is clearly not being properly maintained. These living conditions are not suitable for human beings, let alone tenants paying such inflated rent. I am counting down the days until I can move out and would strongly advise anyone considering renting through Peter Alan to think very carefully before doing so.

We are extremely pleased with the service, professionalism and attitude that Smooth Move have shown us. Highly recommended!
28th Mar 2023 (2 years ago)When I initially emailed about a rental property, the response was quick. When it came to my viewing however, I was 7 minutes late due to car trouble and general traffic - I notified the agent 30 minutes ahead of my viewing slot that I may be late. When I arrived she was rude, didn't provide any information on the property, rushed me and in general felt like she didn't take me seriously. She claimed that my email re: my lateness wasn't received - I insisted that it was, she then checked her junk email and found it, and didn't at all apologise for the rude assumption. Overall, I wouldn't recommend at all, I felt like I wasn't taken seriously due to the fact that I am a young renter (24), the customer service is very lacking and the communication was subpar at best.

11th Feb 2026 (30 days ago)We viewed various houses with different estate agents. Archers& Co in Usk and Monmouth were the most professional,helpful,& cheerful. If I had to sell a property I would use this estate agency as they do the best to highlight the best features of a property whilst not just saying anything to get a quick sale.As a buyer they give you honest answers I can't thank them enough for helping us to complete.

3rd Mar 2026 (10 days ago)I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I booked a viewing for a rental property, but no one showed up at the flat. I also did not receive any phone call or notification to explain what happened. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable and wasted my time. I cannot recommend this service based on my experience.

She was caring, sympathetic to our needs, and genuinely invested in helping us every step of the way. She did everything within her control to get our offer accepted and to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Communication was excellent throughout. Charlene was always available, incredibly responsive, and proactive in keeping things moving. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her professionalism was matched by a very human, thoughtful approach. If you are looking for an estate agent who truly cares about their clients and goes the extra mile to support them, Charlene comes very highly recommended.

8th Mar 2026 (5 days ago)Cole and team were great , the only reason for 4 stars is their office team repeatedly let us down by arranging viewings the agents couldn’t physically get to on time due to how far apart they were with so little travel time allocated and also kept booking viewings when we said we were not able to have them and not writing down the availability we instructed several times resulting in repeatedly having to move viewings about. Cole’s valuation was spot on and his advice and guidance were great he was always available on WhatsApp when needed and never stopped answering my 100 questions. Absolutely fantastic. Yvonne from the team that helps get the property from an offer to completion was absolutely beyond fantastic , infact im not sure she takes a day off. She goes over and above everytime , treats you personally yet professionally and never stopped trying to help us in anyway she could. She was so fantastic she really went out of her way to help us through a very tricky solicitor process and her guidance and reassurance were so needed and appreciated. We had a very stressful process due to our choice of solicitor and Yvonne somehow made this so so much easier than it would have been and gave me quite a few laughs along the way. Absolute star, I hope number one knows how truly wonderful she is.

From the very first meeting, they were different to other estate agents we’d encountered; extremely reliable, professional, knowledgeable, and completely reassuring. Selling a house can be stressful, but they handled everything with confidence and clarity, keeping us informed at every stage. The marketing was excellent, the communication was consistent, and they worked incredibly hard to secure a great sale for us. At the same time they found us our perfect family home and supported us through the purchase, making the whole process feel seamless. They were always available to answer questions, chase updates, and smooth out any bumps along the way. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. What really stood out was their honesty, dedication, and genuine care. We felt supported by the entire team from start to finish on both the sale and the purchase. If you’re looking for an estate agent who truly goes above and beyond, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Swithenbank!!
12th Jul 2025 (8 mo. ago)Review for Fine & Country Cardiff – Deeply Unprofessional and Untrustworthy I strongly advise anyone considering buying a property through Fine & Country Cardiff to think twice. We dealt with Gemma, and the experience has been nothing short of appalling. From the beginning, the team were overly pushy and dismissive of our concerns. But once the sale was completed, their attitude turned outright negligent. Despite purchasing a high-value property marketed as a “smart home,” no one had the courtesy to hand over the keys in person. Instead, we were told they were “in the mailbox” and that was the end of their involvement. Upon arrival, we found the garage door was broken and unopenable. An engineer has since confirmed it must be completely replaced at a cost of £2,000. The bathroom sliding door is stuck, meaning steam from the shower floods into the room. And most critically, the entire smart home system is inaccessible. We were given login details linked to an email address that is not ours. After 10 days of calls, emails, and speaking to the U.S.-based provider, we still cannot even turn on the lights. Fine & Country Cardiff have made no effort to assist. No follow-up, no explanation, and certainly no responsibility taken. Their behaviour has been unprofessional, and completely lacking in basic courtesy. I rarely leave reviews, but this situation has caused serious stress and inconvenience. Avoid this agency at all costs. They disappear the moment the payment clears and leave you to deal with all the problems they never disclosed.
