8th Sep 2026 (18 days ago)I'm taking the time to edit this here, as I said to the assistant letting manager today after chatting about the earlier review.<br><br>Update: It was good to meet in person and get clarification.<br><br>To add some context, I went to the agency to receive some support, and as I entered the office, I asked for the assistant letting manager as they were involved in our Tenant Switch process. The person in question was super helpful explaining the concept of group of landlords, which can sometimes make the process a little longer - that is something I completely understand now. Thank you.<br><br>Finally, the assistant letting manager after supporting me, asked me about the one-star review I had left (see below) and took the time to explain to me they were on annual leave and hadn't been told about the calls received from us.<br><br>They really tried to get to the bottom of this and to understand who had tried to direct us in the meantime. I apologized for our lack of awareness and actually felt sorry that they had to come back to these more emotionally-charged requests, when it was actually the admin team process that took a very long time to handle everything.<br><br>The conclusion is that we are back on track with a reliable person who showed great patience and care to keep us happy and feel respected and heard :) I'm leaving this new score even not a high one for how the episode had been handled when the person was on annual leave and "callbacks before eod" that were overpromised by others (when it wasn't actually possible). It was much better to have full transparency, thank you and all the best!<br><br>First review:<br><br>After no reply and us chasing for a month and not getting callbacks when we were told we would ( 7 times ), we get the most unapologetic email back from assistant lettings manager. It just makes one feel treated like dogs who are begging for the simplest professional treatment. I had to insist and insist on one last phone call to say how worried we were, and that we didn’t mind coming to the branch in person if it helped, in order to be taken seriously.<br><br>We really hope that other SF tenants who have been put in the hands of the assistant letting manager in question will receive better and more humane support.

I dealt mostly with Kate McKinnon who went above and beyond throughout the whole process. She was calm, knowledgable and approachable. I would have no qualms in recommending Carter Jonas for house rentals or house buying and selling.

Huge thanks from us both!<br>Chloe kept us both in the loop through out the whole process which kept us both really reassured, I’d 100% recommend her!??

He was very responsive to communications and helped arrange several visits to your new home including one with the children once our offer had been accepted. The welcome pack was very appreciated too on a busy moving day.
17th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)Recently finally sold my property after a very long arduous selling process (no fault of Connells). Connells were amazing throughout seemed to be the only party at times to have my best interest. Charlie in particular was amazing reaching out and offering tons of support, especially when a buyer pulled out (again no fault of Connells) the had a new buyer within a week. Couldn’t recommend them enough and big thank you again to not only Charlie but the whole team.Connells - Cowley

5th Aug 2026 (7 weeks ago)We were very impressed with Davis Tate. We looked at many properties in the area around Wantage to rent and found Davis Tate to be very helpful, professional and friendly. Dominic was really great with us as we didn't know the area very well at all. Suzie very helpful when finalising the rental agreement. I would recommend Davis Tate.
22nd Sep 2026 (4 days ago)We recently purchased a property through Chancellors, and I would especially like to mention Sherko, who has been absolutely amazing throughout the process. He is very talented, helpful, kind and professional. Whenever we approached Sherko with a question or needed help, he always tried his best to support us and give us the assistance we expected. We are genuinely grateful for his help.<br><br>However, I do feel there is an important area where Chancellors could improve. Before showing or selling a property, I believe all staff involved should have full and accurate knowledge of the property.<br><br>On our initial viewing, the staff member showing us the property was unable to answer several basic questions and unfortunately gave us some information that later turned out to be incorrect. We only discovered this towards the end of the purchase process.<br><br>We also requested a second viewing, and unfortunately the staff member who attended did not seem to have sufficient knowledge about the property either. When we asked specifically about the central heating system and other important details, we were told that there “must be a system” there. We were also given very limited time for the viewing — around 5–7 minutes — which made it difficult to properly check and understand the property.<br><br>As a result, after completing the purchase, we have now discovered that we need to spend around £10,000 to install a central heating system, which is a significant and unexpected expense.<br><br>I want to make it clear that our experience with Sherko was completely different. Whenever we went to him, he listened, helped us and provided the support we needed. I genuinely don’t understand why the same level of care and knowledge was not provided by some of the other staff.<br><br>Overall, I would like to thank Sherko personally for his excellent service. At the same time, I strongly recommend that Chancellors ensures staff have accurate information about properties before conducting viewings, and that buyers are given enough time and proper answers to important questions. This could prevent buyers from making decisions based on incorrect or incomplete information.

Kelly and Alannah answered all my questions and kept me informed and up to date throughout the sale of my property.<br>Thanks also to Michelle who secured me a great mortgage deal.

James sold us our house 10 years ago and after talking to a few agents, we knew Cridlands were the right people to manage our sale. Despite a bit of a difficult and frustrating market, James kept us sane with good advice on the state of the market, recommendations for strategy and when we needed to be realistic on price.<br><br>His experience and skill were very valuable in helping us manage the process from accepting an offer to completion -his regular communications with (and chasing of) all parties smoothed the process and kept things moving. Given we were selling an old listed property there were inevitably queries and James helped us, and other parties, navigate and work through these in a pragmatic way and focus on those that were actually of concern to the buyer.<br><br>James and the team are a pleasure to deal with and we have had some very entertaining discussions along the way, thank you Cridland and Co!

13th Jul 2026 (11 weeks ago)My partner and I had decided to put our house on the market, potentially moving to a bigger house. Doing our due diligence, we made a decision to get four different Real Estate Agencies to visit, so we could also gauge the professionalism and expertise of various agents.<br><br>Somebody had suggested that we should also give Jessica, the owner of this company, to evaluate our home too. Three different real estate agencies sent their reps to evaluate our home, give us their terms, and provide us with written documents of what they were able to do for us. We gave Jessica the same opportunity. When Jessica arrived, we noticed that even prior to looking at our house, she had written down a figure representing the value of our home! My partner and I were surprised that how could she evaluate our home even prior to looking at it! Anyway, Jessica was very friendly and presentable, talked to us about her services and what she was willing to do for us. This is exactly the same as other agents had done, except, the other agents provided us with a figure value after examining the house, and seeing all the improvements that we had made to our home.<br><br>As we had done with the other agents, we asked Jessica to email us with all the information that she had verbally presented. Jessica agreed to do so. However, Jessica was the only real estate agent, amongst the four, that never followed up with any information upon her departure!<br><br>We were quite disappointed with the fact that, how could someone, who considered themselves as an experienced agent, simply evaluate a house based on what other houses in the area had sold! We believe that Jessica came up with that conclusion solely based on the square footage of the house, regardless of all the improvements and modernization that had been made to the house!! Similarly, not providing us with a follow up, as she had promised, was a major disappointment.<br><br>I am glad that we decided not to employ Amilies state agents. Apart from Jessica‘s polite mannerism, I could not recommend this agency.

10th Jul 2026 (11 weeks ago)Nicky and her team at Summertown have worked tirelessly and enthusiastically over the past year to get our 4th prospective buyer over the line. It has been a challenging task but the team never let go of the job and eventually it paid off. Also Nicky arranged a private sale of a cottage in the Village that will suit our needs very well. Our thanks to Nicky and her team for a job well done.

18th Sep 2026 (8 days ago)Disappointing service from this letting agent on multiple property viewings. Initially shown the incorrect property by one of their agents, and on several other viewings the agent had little to no information on the property. Sent a list of questions on one, recieved 'not that we are aware' to most of them.<br><br>Offered on two properties and lost out on both with no information or contact given, just an email with a no.<br><br>It's obviously because we didn't want to take part in the 'no deposit scheme' which they push you to sign up for, which means you pay 80 per month and receive nothing back at the end of tenancy. Bit of a scam really.<br><br>We found a property through a different agent.- 17th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)Since December 2025, Chancellors has acted on my behalf in the sale of our property in Oxford. My interactions with individual members of staff have always been excellent, with queries answered promptly. As with any business relationship, perceived service levels can fluctuate, but since August 2026 I have noticed a clear improvement as we have moved closer to a sale, which we hope will complete in November.<br><br>It has also been enormously valuable to have direct contact with our buyer which the new Manager has encouraged. I recognise that this may not always work well, depending on personalities and expectations, but in our case it has worked exceptionally well and has undoubtedly helped the transaction.
