19th Aug 2026 (26 days ago)Selling our house with Edward Mellor was positive until getting on towards the end of the process. Giving 1 star because of this would also be incredibly harsh because overall, and having a few months to sit on it before coming online and leaving a horrendous review, the experience wasn’t what it should have been.<br><br>They had a challenge with our house; it had been on the market previously with another vendor who produced almost exactly nothing when we decided to take a break and focus on our children. We all have challenges in our life and the trouble with a process like selling a house is it can become incredibly inhumane; poor, low ball offers, a lack of response from anyone and the constant fear of your buyer pulling out, especially in 2025/2026 when the market has been quite odd.<br><br>Initially the sales team were amazing; Andrew and then Josh, both excellent representatives and did everything they could within their power to get viewings in. I took a number of the viewings myself as they were struggling for staff but then were able to recruit in. No problem there. Once the house had been on the market for a couple of months we sold. Unfortunately our buyer pulled out with a couple of weeks to go, among the worst possible things a buyer can do. Mellor were straight on the phone to say they would handle it, get it back on and get us a buyer. Then silence for days. This is not the time for silence. We also had a very non-chalant call with the manager Jo who showed zero interest in keeping us and we had the sense they wanted to offload us. We carried on, again, due to the excellent sales team we initially had.<br><br>The sales side dropped off massively, as there were either no people to take viewings so had to do them myself or they would send new people every time. They could be excellent sales people but this is the time to send your experienced sales people who know the house, so ended up doing the viewings myself. We sold again a month or so later and ended up having to renegotiate on our price following a survey. This caused a lot of anxiety and we were left in silence from Mellor about it and then the weekend came. We had to take matters into our own hands and renegotiated with the buyer to keep the sale progressing, a chain of four houses. That’s when Jackie got nasty with me. As it was also progressing quite slowly she suggested to move things forward we pressure the chain with an ultimatum date. This very much rattled the chain and upset a lot of people. Having talked to our buyer and our sellers estate agent to calm things down, I called Jackie to ask her to pull it back. I was aggressively told to ‘stop interfering’, how the reduction wouldn’t have been needed if they had left it to her and to ‘keep my nose out’. I then tried to calm her down and she put the phone down. After that she never answered the phone and rarely responded to emails. Again, I want to stress that this must be a high pressure job but this was an incredibly immature response to paying customers who had been receiving increasingly poor service. This is also the reaction from the person who completes your sale, the person who is with you at the most stressful time. It was honestly not even close to good enough.<br><br>In conclusion, after an initial sales push, the service faded fast. The after sales service was poor and nearly cost us the sale of the house which we could not afford. I cannot recommend Edward Mellor based on this. They have a major problem on after sales and would advise you query if this has changed before taking them on to sell your property. I hope it improves.

Their professionalism, responsiveness, and customer-focused approach made the entire journey smooth and stress-free.<br><br>We are delighted with our new home and would highly recommend Edward Mellor to anyone looking to buy or sell a property. 28th Aug 2026 (17 days ago)Callaghans has been the best choice for selling a house. From the outset, they provided a realistic sales price, and not an inflated figure to try to secure the business. Their fees were also clearly explained and reasonable. I was given good advice for free about some minor pre-sale improvements which could be made, which were done - all before I'd even engaged Callaghans. The feeling I could trust them was really important to me, and it proved well founded. They kept me informed every step of the way, from arranging viewings to occasionally having to relay news of cancellations (important to know about still), and then on to the exciting bit of guiding an offer through to completion. Friendly, courteous, helpful, organised, efficient - Callaghans are all of these. Thanks to all of the team, but especially Sean, Ian, and Carole. Most of my contact was with Carole, who is brilliant. Callaghans = exceptional.

Dealt with Liz at Marple office what a star she went the extra mile in everything she did kept in touch as soon as she knew anything what she didn't know she would go that extra mile to find out, couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend Lawlers to anyone. Thanks again Liz
13th Oct 2025 (11 mo. ago)Reduced it within a week of being on the market so just shows they got the valuation so wrong. Communication was very poor. Only had two viewings first I had to chase feedback. Never given feedback from the last viewing. When I gave notice I was emailed to say 3 viewings had taken place. They had not. We have changed estate agents as a result of poor service.
29th Aug 2026 (16 days ago)Very disappointing experience – would not use again<br><br>I moved out on 7th August and only received my deposit back today, after having to chase and chase for it. This was particularly frustrating given that I had left the property immaculate.<br><br>I was initially told that £150 would be deducted from my deposit for a couple of Blu Tack marks on the wall. When I questioned this, Northwood told me that the landlord had obtained quotes from decorators. However, when I asked to see these quotes, the explanation suddenly changed to the landlord doing the painting themselves.<br><br>So, effectively, I was being asked to pay £150 for the landlord to paint over a few Blu Tack marks themselves. I also requested before-and-after photographs to support the deduction, but these were never provided.<br><br>After negotiating, the deduction was eventually reduced to £75. At that point, I decided to accept it simply because I wanted to get the remainder of my deposit back and bring the whole experience to an end.<br><br>I have rented numerous properties over the years in the Cheshire area and, based on my experience, I would personally say that Stephenson Browne is head and shoulders above Northwood.<br><br>Unfortunately, I would not consider using Northwood again in the future, whether to rent, buy or sell a property. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise prospective tenants, landlords and sellers to think carefully before using this company.

11th Sep 2026 (3 days ago)Sell well managed to sell our house very quickly we were really happy with the quality of the advert and the photos gave of a great example of what our house had to offer.<br><br>Their communication throughout was very good.<br><br>Claire who was in charge of our sale was really efficient and communicated very well with us and the buyer.<br><br>Would definitely recommend Sell Well and we would 100% use their services again in the future.

They set my expectations at the beginning, which was good. The process has been a smooth one. They fitted in visits around my shifts. I liked the fact that the viewings were done on one day without me being there (great when you live with a toddler) They have always been prompt in replying to any messages. They have made this part as stress free as possible for me.

3rd Sep 2026 (11 days ago)We used this company when selling our house, and having previously dealt with other estate agents, the positive experience we had with Wilson was even more noticeable.<br><br>From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive and answered all our questions straight away. They gave us a realistic valuation of our property, unlike some other agents who deliberately overvalue a house to win your business and then gradually reduce the price.<br><br>They also think of everything. From the quality of the photographs and the property description to providing useful information about the local area, they clearly put a lot of thought into how to present your property in the best possible way.<br><br>Our buyer’s solicitor was unfortunately very slow, which could easily have made the whole process extremely stressful and drawn-out. The Wilson team took the initiative, helped organise the negotiations and kept things moving. Thanks to them, the sale was completed much more quickly than it otherwise might have been.<br><br>Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, patient and highly professional. Selling a house can be a very stressful and complicated process, but with Wilson we felt that we could trust them to deal with things and keep us informed throughout.<br><br>It’s no surprise that we are seeing more and more Wilson boards around the area. They have earned their reputation. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone selling their property.

He handled the sale of my house with a really high level of professionalism, I’d previously used a more traditional estate agent as I hadn’t come across EweMove, the contrast was night and day and Paul made the selling experience enjoyable.<br><br>Paul was knowledgeable, approachable and kept everything moving when it could easily have become stressful. I really appreciated his patience, communication and the way he conducted himself throughout the process.<br><br>A genuinely excellent estate agent and a real credit to the team. Thank you, Paul!

21st Aug 2026 (24 days ago)An outstanding selling experience with Reside Stockport and Jordana.<br><br>As my BTL property was being sold while tenants were preparing to move out, it was important to me they were treated with the same respect and consideration as everyone else involved in the transaction. From our very first conversation, it was obvious that Jordana understood that and before I'd even explained how much it mattered to me, she had already demonstrated a genuine understanding of their situation and even going out of her way to help them as well, which immediately distinguished her from other agents I'd spoken to.<br><br>The property achieved the asking price within a week, thanks to Jordana's proactive approach. Before I even had a chance to worry about how the sale would progress, viewings were being arranged and offers were coming in. What really stood out, however, was Jordana's commitment throughout the months that followed. The sale encountered its fair share of unexpected complications, setbacks, and delays, many of which were outside the control of either myself or the buyer. Despite this, she tackled every challenge head-on with determination and a positive attitude.<br><br>Communication was excellent throughout.
