10th Apr 2024 (21 days ago)Although we didn’t end up buying through Connells in Eastleigh (we bought through their Romsey branch), Dan, Hobbie and Hayden could not have been more helpful. They took time to understand our needs, explained everything in as much detail as we needed, and even gave honest advice relating to properties being sold by other agents when asked (those other agents, incidentally, didn’t appear to have the level of knowledge Connells do). We truly felt like Connells were working with us to find the right property at the right price, rather than just wanting to sell to us. Highly recommended from a buyers perspective.
3rd Apr 2024 (28 days ago)Searching for a property to rent locally, contacted Beals, took some personal information from me over the phone, got a viewing the next day. All was great! A member of the team showed us round the property, which looked fab. Just what we were after. However I asked how to pursue to secure the property, to have a reply of ‘we have received many emails about this property and had to ignore most of them due to the high demand!’ ….but just reply back to my viewing confirmation email. So I got home, replied back to his email asking to persue. 48 hours later still no reply, I called the branch to be told the estate agent would call me back. The next morning I receive an email ‘Unfornalty the landlord isn’t willing to go with yourselves this time. We do another 2-bedroom property on. I can send you over this now for you to look’ - this was the spelling too, again not very professional. We were dishearten but respect we may not be what the landlord is after. But no 2 bedroom property ever sent to us. I really felt like I was a number to get up the viewings on the flat, no real compassion or listening to our needs to persue anything else. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend Beales Parkgate.
11th Jan 2024 (16 weeks ago)Not upfront and honest estate agents. People on the phone are friendly when you call but estate agents pretend they don't know details of the property and you don't get the full information on the ads. Viewed a property that was of a non standard construction but the agent didn't tell me and nor did the advert. I put an offer down, which got accepted until a friend told me they're near impossible to get a mortgage on. I called the agent and asked she said "oh I'm not sure, the home owners think it might be, but are also not sure", when it is. Told her I couldn't get a mortgage on that and got hit with "use our brokers, they'll get you one." I've since pulled my offer, the advert went back up and still hasn't been updated to say "non standard construction".
14th Apr 2024 (17 days ago)I have had a great experience of using Your Move in Southampton. Charlie came to estimate the sale price of my house and was really upfront and honest, I felt I could trust him immediately as he was saying his honest opinions rather than what I might want to hear as other estate agents had done. Frances was great througout, arranging my viewing of properties for me to buy and always prompt and helpful. Then finally Sam has been really tenacious in getting my purchase through and driving the solicitors onwards. Thanks to you all so much! A really great experience.

17th Dec 2021 (2 years ago)We recently purchased a property through Savills that should have been a smooth process based on a small chain however for various reasons outside our or the buyers control it was far from it. Hayley was an angel and acted to keep our sellers calm and ensured we finally reached a completion date. Would absolutely return to Savills if we are brave enough to move again in the future!

19th Apr 2024 (12 days ago)Where do we start? Jackson Bailey were 10/10 when selling our home. During what was an incredibly protracted process, which took six months from start to finish; Ben and the team kept in continual contact and chased where needed to ensure that the relevant progress was made. Having sold with JB, but purchased through a useless purple online agent (whose own ‘sales progression’ service was dreadful, talk about ‘commisery!’); Ben had to step-in and liaise on both our sale and purchase; doing the job of our seller’s agent at times too! Communication was clear, constant and effective, and we found the WhatsApp group an excellent way of getting updates outside of normal working hours. A refreshing change from having to leave constant voicemails to other agents in the chain. Overall, a justifiably FIVE STAR service from Jackson Bailey. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to sell in the local area and cannot thank them enough for their efforts.

We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired, the shower doesn't work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go.

31st Mar 2024 (4 weeks ago)My review is regarding the lettings team, and the landlord Clydesdale Group or any of their associated companies (e.g., Templeton Stockbridge). More info on issues I've had with the Clydesdale rentals below (Elmfield block and Clydes Dale Court). Make sure everything is in writing. Clarify any ambiguity no matter how small over email. Charters will continuously mislead you and intentionally lie with false information in order to secure deposits and have agreements signed. If this happens, you can contact your financial institute through which you paid. My bank confirmed that my deposit was obtained fraudulently and could be claimed as a scam. They will go back on everything written and verbal (e.g., their recorded calls) and claim misunderstandings every time. They probably won't honour what they initially agreed but it's useful to have the evidence for claims or if you need to get out of the agreement early. If you do rent with them, they will likely send outdated inventories so you have to spend hours fixing and updating it, essentially doing their job for them. And then they'll try to blame you for issues they failed to record on the check in inventory. You need to be really thorough with the inventory to ensure you get your deposit back. They take 3+ months to carry out repairs and hire contractors that do shoddy jobs (that cause further damage) if they even bother to do the repair. There is no communication, you have to chase up everything, and then they try to deflect the blame. Management is just as bad. Finally got in touch with a director 6 months into my tenancy only to get more excuses, minimising, glossing over things, not bothering to look into the details/complaints properly, and taking no accountability. Minimal morals, and minimal care for tenants. What's worse is that Charters staff gaslight you, and are passive aggressive. Staff are ridiculously incompetent, lazy. Elmfield block If you do an Internet search you will see that I am not the only one that was lied to by Charters and vital H&S information withheld. They lied about mould, the type of construction being done, and ongoing water contamination concerns. After being caught out they blamed it on a "new" staff member not being aware, except she wasn't new (she moved from sales to rentals) and the manager also didn't disclose any of these issues on the numerous occasions I spoke with her. Clydes Dale Court - Landlord refused to address mould and damp issues caused by various leaks despite being made aware of their legal obligations. There is a dampness and ventilation issue in the whole building resulting in a silverfish issue. - Charters and the landlord lied to me about which furniture I was going to be provided. I rented a fully furnished house--everything is in writing about which furniture was agreed to and was told that it would be new. On move in day, 90% of the furniture was either missing or not correct, some of it really old and in poor condition. This was never resolved. - I was assured it would be professionally cleaned. There were urine stains on the bathroom wall. Every radiator covered in layers of dust, spider webs, dog hair. Mould on every window sill and in the kitchen walls. Dirty surfaces. Stains on walls and skirting (including a brown stain near the bathroom switch). Overgrown garden with dog faeces, and covered with trash (amounting to bin bag full once picked up). Carpet smelled of wet dog after supposed professional wash for duration of my tenancy. - There is a sewage issue for all the flats that they won't resolve. - Numerous counts of unauthorised entry when I wasn't home despite me stating that I do not want entry without my presence or knowledge and that this is illegal. Also had a contractor try to enter using his own copy knowing that I was home. Contractors have copies of keys to all the flats, which is not safe at all. They eventually changed my locks after 7 months because I had evidence that someone entered while I was on holiday and because I said I was going to report it to the council and the police.
