16th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)Very disappointed with the service I received from Connells during my recent tenancy process. I have dealt with other staff members at Connells before and never had issues, but my experience with Ashley Thompson-Boyle was extremely frustrating due to poor communication and misinformation throughout the process. Communication throughout the entire process was very poor. I constantly had to chase for updates myself. I was also told that on the key collection day all I needed to do was sign paperwork, pay, and collect the keys. However, when I arrived on the moving day with van rentals and arrangements already booked, I was suddenly informed that the contract was not ready because the deposit process had not been completed through the zero deposit company, something that had never been clearly communicated beforehand. This delayed my move-in by a full day and caused unnecessary stress and additional costs. What disappointed me most was the lack of accountability when these issues were raised. This is genuinely the first time I’ve ever written a complaint or negative review about an employee or agency, but the overall experience was stressful and far below the standard I expected from a well-known letting agency like Connells.

He made the home buying process very easy and was available when required to answer any questions. Ross and Kaisha were both so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process, and have continued to give us advice and recommendations re the local area. I would definitely recommend them if looking to sell or buy your home.

Our onward purchase and move to Surrey has proved to be difficult but with help and advice from Ash, we have been able to resolve the problem with Ash being instrumental in holding the lower chain together. Both Rob and Ash were always friendly, courteous and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend their services.

From day dot you were amazing you helped throughout the horrific journey we had with our first time buying a property. You made everything so smooth and helped when you really didn’t have to but that help meant so much to us! We wish we went with Brown and Merry for our purchase but unfortunately the house we wanted was through another agent but I could tell you for sure we would of never had the experience we did from the other agent if we went with Brown and Merry as everyone there at the Leighton branch is just wonderful. But Luke especially who was our broker went over and beyond and we cannot thank him enough. Luke we hope you see this and realise how much you helped and supported us. Their valuation was surprisingly higher than I’d expected, and their selling strategy spot on! My property sold within days of the open house event they ran and got a lot more than I’d expected. All the staff I dealt with were professional, friendly and efficient. I have no reservations in recommending them, my home sale was painless - I’d lived there for 37 years so was anxious about the whole process, but it went brilliantly. Thanks Adam, Alex and Debbie for all you did !!
