27th May 2026 (18 days ago)Avoid Barnard Marcus West Kensington/Shepherds Bush – A Management Nightmare I am writing this to warn other landlords about the persistent failures and lack of professional accountability at the Barnard Marcus West Kensington/Shepherds Bush branch. My experience has been a masterclass in how to mismanage a property while charging a premium for the privilege. The "Sales Pitch" vs. The Reality The Branch Manager, Andreja, is very effective at selling you the earth. He promises a high-level, seamless management experience, but the reality is you are handed a bag of dirt. Once the contract is signed, the proactive service disappears, and you are left to deal with a branch that seems more interested in internal politics than property management. Non-Existent Service & Expensive Maintenance Despite paying for "Full Management," I found their tenant management services to be effectively non-existent. When issues arise, you have to scream at the branch just to get a response. Their after-care for property maintenance is extortionately expensive, yet the service remains sluggish. You end up doing the coordination yourself while they continue to collect their fees. Billing for Everything, Delivering Nothing The "hidden" costs are relentless. They will bill you for every minor administrative task—annual statements, tax reporting, and various "extra charges"—even though these should be covered under a management fee. In my case, they even billed me for tax administration services that were entirely based on their own internal errors. Formal Complaints & Internal Politics The level of incompetence reached a point where I was forced to go through a grueling formal complaints procedure just to get Andreja to do his basic job. It is clear that this branch suffers from a total disconnect between departments (Lettings vs. Accounts). I spent months caught in the middle of their internal "mess," with one department claiming a task was finished while another proved it wasn't. They played internal politics at my expense, leaving me to face the fallout of their administrative failures. The Fallout Their inability to correctly process simple change-of-ownership documentation led to severe errors in financial reporting and tax statements. To this day, the branch remains disorganized, reactive rather than proactive, and fundamentally incapable of providing the service they sell. Verdict: Save yourself the stress and the extra charges. This branch talks a good game but fails entirely on delivery. Protect your investment and your sanity by going elsewhere. The company will post a response to this review with an email address they never respond to! Lucy doesn’t exist!
9th Mar 2026 (14 weeks ago)I would strongly advise against using this agency. We had an offer accepted by a landlord and were sent the contract and all payment details late Friday afternoon. Interestingly, they don’t take holding deposits (claiming they "don't operate that way"), yet they expected us to sign and transfer a very large sum of money immediately without having our questions answered. By Monday morning, we had cleared all queries, completed references, and signed the contract. After being told to wait for the landlord's "green light" for several hours while we were ready to pay, we were suddenly told the landlord had accepted another identical offer. The excuse given was that the "market is competitive," which is a poor cover for unprofessionalism. They wasted our time, energy, and personal data. Avoid if you want a transparent or reliable process.
22nd May 2026 (23 days ago)Just want to thank the team at Finlay Brewer, particularly Seb, who have been great throughout our tumultuous three year journey of selling our flat and buying our new house. We've seen everything and been through quite a few different agents. They were always polite and easy to deal with, nothing was ever too much in terms of scheduling multiple viewings on the weekend. They were never pushy or salesy, they have mastered the art of the quiet selling. They seem to be just a really nice group of people. They honestly have the best stock of whole houses in the Brook Green/Shepherd's Bush/Hammersmith area and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking to move within the area . Thanks again!

26th Jan 2026 (20 weeks ago)I'm posting this review here as Winkworth is trying to take my truthful review down on TrustPilot. I have hundreds of screenshots willing to prove the terrible service I received as a tenant and to prove all the harassment as they would incessantly email from multiple people from the same office. I wouldn't be posting yet another complaint if they didn't report my review for a second time, but they've forced my hand. They serve section 21 eviction notices left and right before it is entirely legal (based on the timeframe, they do it pre emptively to the 2 month threashhold, and did so in my case). They tried entering my property without giving 24 hour notice multiple times outside the 2 month allowance timeframe. It took the team 4.5 months to return my entire deposit. I had to contact TDS and even go through legal avenues in order to receive my undisputed deposit. A shoutout to the terrible Bradley Whitehead, Sibel Camci and last but certainly least as in she is the bane of the Shepherd's Bush rental market, the lazy & entitled Daisie Lander. These three are chancers at best, reaping profits off of rentals that aren't legally fit to be rented and keeping deposits to record profits. They also "heavy suggest" that tenants use only one cleaner they refer us. The fear of losing more of our deposit is real and something they regularly enforce from what I've seen. This is illegal to enforce in the UK and because of the vague way that they suggest us to use their recommended cleaner, people cannot place this forward as a formal complaint. That said, I can note that they only suggest one cleaner. This office uses every underhanded manner to torture their tenants and make upper class professionals feel like criminals who should feel so lucky to have a tenancy. I've heard multiple complaints about Daisie when finding my next rental and get why some people don't want women to work, they're all thinking of her in particular. Lazy, entitled, and constantly out of office, I can personally show all the times she was out of office when I sent her an email. Though that's just the beginning of this tale, from strange agents coming into my apartment without any warning and claiming they were "new" (high turnover I see), to receiving several emails everyday regarding rentals for 4-5 weeks straight after I received my section 21 eviction as a standard harassment tactic, this isn't the office you want to work with or be renting from.

She was in constant contact with the buyers, the sellers who were abroad and their solicitors and kept all parties fully informed, mediating and explaining the issues when required. I would highly recommend Fletchers in Brook Green.

They worked very hard to promote our property in a difficult market and achieved what seemed a reasonable sale price. We particularly liked their calm, un-pushy approach, and how helpful David was with both our sale and ongoing purchase. Highly recommended.

Their knowledge of the local area, access to the market and advice are second to none. Robyn was hugely helpful, professional and knowledgeable through all stages of the sale and purchase, and Jen was absolutely lovely and so helpful in helping us rent a suitable property for the interim.
