2nd May 2023 (3 years ago)Very pleasant, friendly and well presented and punctual agents but lacked experience which I felt contributed to poor marketing and incorrect information being passed on to prospective buyers. Communication could also have been better.
23rd Aug 2026 (24 days ago)We recently purchased a property through John Wood in Seaton and have to say the team there Beth, Nicki & Hannah went above and beyond for us. We were purchasing an older property which needed a lot of work and was a little out of our comfort zone so we wanted to meet there with surveyors, builders etc to get an idea of what needed doing and John Wood ensured we had all the appointments (property was vacant) necessary for our peace of mind. Literally nothing was too much trouble and made the purchasing process so much easier for us. It was a pleasure dealing with them. Thank you John Wood Seaton. Regards the Reads.
20th Jul 2026 (8 weeks ago)Very unresponsive i had left a few voice mails and messages to staff and never had a reply, They will badger you to use the in house solicitors Do not use the in house solicitors you will still be charged if the sale doesn't go though.

The agent was terrific; he liaised efficiently and swiftly with my vendors and lawyers, as needed, and he was invariably as friendly and helpful as he could be. The purchase went through rapidly, and I have been happily settled ever since. In my view, the smoothness of this purchase was related to my agent's skills, and also because CR&W are a respected, long-standing agency in my area, so their local knowledge adds a real benefit to what they offer. I would thoroughly recommend this company, and my personal thanks to Charlie, the agent who dealt with me.
16th Aug 2026 (4 weeks ago)We had a terrible experience with Meyers estate agents. They were awful and didn't make any real effort to sell the bungalow. All they wanted to do was continually lower the price. An incident around security of the premises occurred and that was the final straw for us. We ended the contract early. Have now appointed 2 further agents . Would not recommend Meyers at all.

She supported my wife in securing a bungalow for her parents, who needed to relocate urgently to be closer for medical reasons, and she handled the whole process with genuine kindness and empathy.<br><br>She kept in touch every couple of days with updates, went above and beyond to make sure everything stayed on track, and was incredibly personable and easy to work with. Emma truly understood our family’s situation and made a stressful time feel so much more manageable.<br><br>We can’t recommend Emma at Chaffers highly enough. My wife and in?laws are so grateful for everything she did.<br><br>Thank you, Emma from Maria & Lee Parsons.

13th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Public Review – Strakers Trowbridge / Pickers Palmers Farm<br><br>I wish to record my extremely disappointing and shocking experience with Strakers Trowbridge regarding a property at Pickers Palmers Farm, Capps Lane, Heywood.<br><br>I live in Kent and am in the process of moving to the area. As I was unable to attend an initial viewing myself, I asked my sister to view the property on my behalf. Following her viewing, I decided to make an offer.<br><br>On Friday 7 August 2026, I offered the full asking price. I heard nothing back and, after chasing Strakers on Monday 10 August, I was advised by Chris that my offer was acceptable. I was also advised that I should perhaps travel to Wiltshire myself to view the property.<br><br>Taking this advice seriously, I travelled more than 250 miles to attend the viewing.<br><br>When we arrived, the developer met us and showed us around the property. However, during the visit it became apparent that the property I had made the offer on had already been sold. Instead, the developer was attempting to sell us another property.<br><br>What is particularly upsetting is that neither the developer nor the Strakers representative who was present made this clear to me before I travelled such a considerable distance. The Strakers representative was there and appeared to be fully aware of the situation.<br><br>I find the lack of transparency and communication extremely disappointing. If the property had already been sold, why was I not told before travelling over 250 miles? Why was I left believing that my offer was acceptable when, apparently, the property was no longer available?<br><br>I feel that my time, money and genuine interest in the property were not respected. The entire experience has left me feeling extremely let down and misled.<br><br>I would strongly question the level of communication and transparency demonstrated by both Strakers Trowbridge and the developer in this situation. This was an incredibly frustrating and unnecessary experience, and one I would not expect from a professional estate agent.<br><br>Absolutely shocking treatment from both Strakers and the developer and doesn't even deserve the 1 star, shame on you!
19th Aug 2026 (28 days ago)I’ve been wanting to write this for a while but didn’t have the words. We moved into our property around 2.5 years ago which was sold to us via Connells in Shaftesbury. The mortage advisor Millie was brilliant, however as first time buyers I feel like the team really played on that. We had arranged to get a survey done of the house we intended to buy and one of the agents called us up to pressure us into not doing one as the buyers wanted to move. Telling us that because the “bank had agreed with the price of the house there was no need”. I now know this was a lie, the house has had issue after issue. From electrics and piping that isn’t up to standard and would of been flagged. Purposely hiding cut out carpet with furniture and so much more like hiding mould. I’m not sure if you record your phone calls but as a classified vulnerable customer I feel incredibly let down. We will probably never be able to move from this house because we can’t afford the costs. So if they try to convince you to not get a survey by claiming the bank agreeing to the amount is the same thing, please ignore them. It’s taken me so long to write this because I’ve been embarrassed but I also know they preyed on us being young and me being autistic and ‘guilible’.

Due to issues with our solicitor the latest sale was very stressful but Ian's years of experience shone through and he always put us at ease whilst pushing the sale along. The whole team is welcoming and friendly and always have a smile on their faces. If you are selling a house in the Plymstock area we highly recommend using Ian and the team.
