I was very pleased to pass by Foxtons Canary Wharf. I had a pleasant and productive conversation with Letting valuer Ehab who positively emphasised the potential of our property prior to letting it out later this year.We will definitely be in contact with Foxtons.
LIARS, POOR MANAGEMENT.
I made a huge mistake by letting Foxtons to manage my property.
1) Tenants never set up utility bill accounts, so I ended up paying utility bills after they moved out.
2) It was clearly stated in the agreement that no pets were allowed, and the tenants informed Foxtons in the middle of their tenancy that they've found a kitten on the street in Canary Wharf and they'd like to keep. Foxtons staff forwarded me the information and asked me for permission, I said no. But tenants kept the cat in the property for 8 months anyways.
3) Tenants lost a set of keys, it costs me £30 to get a new fob. But when I asked Foxtons why was there a single set of keys for my 2-bed flat (rented to 2 tenants) they said they looked into the file, yes they definitely only had one set of keys and given to tenants only a single set of keys. (They didn't count the set of keys when tenants returned them and they LIED in my face multiple times insisting on this.)
4) Former tenants were oversea students doing 1-year masters (meaning they only have visa for one year), but Foxtons made a 2-year contract with 1-year break clause anyways. Smart move. They don't care about your property, they just want to make money and by not doing their work.
5) My property was clearly damaged and they didn't care to address that.
6) They are really rude when they are found screwing up, when they see that they cannot make money off you again they just don't care to keep their decency.
So clearly, if you are a tenant you should go with them since they don't care about the property much you can do whatever you want. But remember, you are renting someone's beloved home, someday you may rent your place out as well and wouldn't you like your tenants to take care of it?
But for property owners, please avoid using their service. They are just a bunch of liars who don't care about your property at all.
You see, we pay you management fee, and we pay higher fees to you because we sometimes think higher price means better quality of service, and Foxtons taught me that what I thought was clearly wrong.
As newcomers to the area we found Petty Son and Prestwich of great help as we viewed potential homes. We found their staff knowledgeable and easy to deal with. They showed us a large number of properties but without undue pressure which is something we really appreciated.
After showing interest in an apartment in Snaresbrook and arranging a viewing by phone, I received an email confirming the address and time for the viewing. As it turned out, I was given the wrong postcode and therefore arrived at the wrong address, a 20 minute walk away from where the property was actually located. I received a call from Du Preez Botha who asked me where I was and, after explaining to him that he had indeed given me the wrong postcode he said "well I had the same postcode as you and have never been here before myself and I've managed to find it". Although I should have checked the name of the road itself as well as the postcode, I did only use the postcode as I was using my google maps app. Estate agents are by nature rather arrogant people who know the rental market well, they have a lot of interest in each property. Having said this, if a mistake is made on one's part, one should accept this, not blame the client. He did apologise, although this didn't feel too sincere. I also work in a very busy office where I am responsible for providing addresses to clients. So a word of advice from me would be to: A. double check both the number / name and street name and B. make sure the postcode provided to a potential client matches the address. In this way the time wasted for both parties will be avoided.
Absolutely brilliant service from Jordan and Muna. Very professional and great results each time. Attention to detail and delivery ????
It all started smoothly, I viewed a property to rent in Forest Hill with Jake, made an offer, offer was accepted. The flat required some work so we agreed upon renovation and some basic furniture. I paid all the fees and submitted all documentation in a timely manner and I also gave my 30 days notice. After the payment had been done for the admin fees to Your-Move agency with Shannika, everything went silent. I was chasing them on a daily basis to get some updates in regards to my future move. Jake went on holiday and Shannika was supposed to follow up. Nobody would pick up my calls. When I was in luck after 5 consecutive days of chasing and Shannika picked up my call she had the audacity to lie that she never got the messages. While approaching the move in date of 26th April I was getting rather anxious as I received no news on the status of the work (and the 26th was my move out date as well). Again I was the one who was constantly chasing and on the 25th, one day prior to my so called move in date I was told that it had to be pushed back to the 28th April, on a Saturday. Again no communication in the following 2 days so I got sick of it and went to the office to have a discussion with the manager. Guess what, no work had been done whatsoever, there was absolutely no furniture and I was close to handing over my keys and check out of my flat. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. The branch manager Phil then followed up with the company which was supposed to carry out the works and gave me a date of end of May. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I then immediately cancelled my arrangement and demanded a full refund. I was called rude by the ALL TIME INCOMPETENT Shannika when refusing to have any more dialogues with her. The only good thing out of this is that I got my money back and found a better flat somewhere else. My advice to everyone, stay far away from these jokers, especially the USELESS, UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE Shannika who is dragging down any sort of standard this company proclaims it has.
Oliver Mint has been really helpful to us during our house hunting. He has listened carefully to our must-have's and good-to-have's for the potential property and his recommendations have been spot on and thus not wasting any of our and his time with viewings that get you nowhere (he has taken onboard our comments from previous viewings and adjusted his recommendations as such). He has been accommodative with the timing of the viewings due to our work schedule and this has very much been appreciated from our side. Having dealt with other estate agents in the past, I can say that for me Oliver is one of the best in the Newham area. Thanks Oliver!
Agent from Stratford called me 3 times about a property I wouldn't be interested.
Agebt from Barking made me wait 45 minutes to not be able to view a property.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
For Jesse Oteri: Jesse is one of the best Estate agents I have dealt with. He knew exactly what I was looking for. Showed the best option suitable for me, and sealed the deal at fair price. The process very smooth and Jesse helped in all possible ways. I highly recommend his services.
I have had a very good experience with Chris Paxton and his team at Knight Frank. They all work in a very thorough and professional manner. Chris and his staff are courteous, friendly and efficient. All queries are answered immediately and they seem to know how to match tenant and landlord very well. They found me a top tenant, working in banking in Canary Wharf. I would gladly use Chris again if my tenant goes back to his home in the Midlands. Rae Albert
Initial experience is great and very professional but our experience at the end of tenancy was terrible. We were charged around £400 for damages for stuff which was by previous tenants and while some of it was mentioned in the check in report, some of the stuff was never mentioned.
Our fault we didn't look in to too much detail in check in report as we had an understanding with the staff at knight Frank maintenance but she left and the new staff Heather didn't budge. She didn't bother comparing check in and check out reports and we had to eventually pay as we didn't want to get in to the hassle.
The amounts they charge are over priced, for instance key replacement for the window was charged at £75.
Our rent refund calculations were not accounted for and after several polite reminders they looked in to it.
