As first-time buyers, we had lots of questions, but they were always patient, knowledgeable, and happy to guide us through every step of the process.<br><br>Karen's communication was excellent, keeping us updated and making sure everything moved as smoothly as possible. She was very professional, approachable, and genuinely cared about helping us for our purchase.<br><br>Buying our first home could have been stressful, but thanks to her support and dedication, the whole experience was much easier and more enjoyable. We truly appreciate all their hard work and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a home.
23rd Nov 2024 (1 year ago)Verity Frearson are the largest estate agent in Harrogate, and in my opinion are handling too many properties simultaneously. As a result they aren't able to give each property the desired attention and exposure. They are also so busy they are very rarely available to take your call and often don't get back to you.

We applied for a property with this company and the response was amazing, they helped us through everything step by step everything was really quick and smooth and the property is amazing. I’d like to give everybody who helped us a massive thank you but a huge shout out to Carla North as she was a massive help for us and guided us through the whole process. She is a credit to the company!!!

3rd Jul 2026 (26 days ago)Very disappointing experience. We paid a holding deposit and later received an email saying the landlord had chosen someone else. The whole experience was frustrating and felt like a waste of time.<br>Communication was very poor. Most of the time when I went to the office, the person who dealt with rentals wasn’t there. When I called, no one answered the phone.<br>What disappointed me the most was that there was no effort to help us after our application was unsuccessful. They could have said, “You’re looking in this area, we have another property nearby that might suit you,” but instead it felt like they just closed the case and moved on.<br>I feel like they are more focused on selling properties than renting them. Overall, I was left very disappointed with the level of customer service and would not recommend this agency based on my experience.

23rd Jul 2026 (6 days ago)Our experience with Zenko was unfortunately very disappointing.<br><br>Whilst there were some positive aspects to the tenancy, the way our end-of-tenancy was handled left us extremely frustrated. We moved into a property that already had a number of issues, including areas requiring further cleaning, ageing décor and old furniture. We raised concerns at the very start of the tenancy, including requesting that the second bedroom be repainted and that the wardrobes be replaced, and even offered to pay a higher rent if these improvements were carried out before we moved in. Those requests were ultimately declined after we had already agreed to proceed with the tenancy at the higher rent and moved in.<br><br>After we handed in our notice, the landlord obtained quotations for redecoration and cleaning and pursued a significant end-of-tenancy claim against us. We disputed the charges through Reposit’s independent adjudication process and, after reviewing the evidence from both parties, the independent adjudicator rejected around 70% of the their claim, including substantially reducing the redecoration claim and rejecting other parts of the claim entirely.<br><br>What made this particularly frustrating was seeing the property re-listed shortly afterwards having been fully refurbished, repainted and fitted with brand new furniture, including the wardrobes we had specifically asked to have replaced before moving in - reinforcing the fact our requests were justified.<br><br>Throughout our tenancy we paid our rent on time, looked after the property and tried to resolve issues respectfully rather than constantly complaining about the condition of the flat. The dispute process caused a considerable amount of unnecessary stress, and we felt the outcome demonstrated that many of the original deductions should never have been pursued in the first place.<br><br>I hope future tenants have a better experience than we did. My biggest piece of advice would be to photograph and document absolutely everything when you move in, no matter how minor it may seem, and to raise any concerns in writing from day one. Otherwise, Zenko will use this against you when you move out. During the dispute, the check-in inventory was given significant weight, and the level of detail expected at check-out was far greater than what was documented at check-in. Having your own comprehensive evidence from the outset is therefore invaluable and could make a significant difference if you ever find yourself in a similar situation.<br><br>Update: Following my review, Jonathan (Director) investigated my complaint thoroughly, acknowledged several failings in the way our tenancy and end-of-tenancy were handled, apologised, and explained the steps the agency will take to improve its processes. While this doesn’t change our experience, I appreciate the professional and transparent way our complaint was ultimately dealt with.

Angela at Martin & Co has recently been helping my wife and I as we reported the fridge freezer had broken down (typically in hot weather!) and nothing has been too much for her. She kept us up to date every step of the way and made sure we had a new appliance installed and the old one taken away in a timely and professional manner. Superb customer service. 10/10.
11th Jul 2026 (18 days ago)Absolute nightmare dealing with this agent. We had an offer provisionally accepted on a property, until we provided proof of finances. Once we did we were told to progress with instructing our solicitors, paid for the survey, and were moving forward in good faith. While the seller was abroad that this would just be a ‘formality’. Out of nowhere, we were dropped because they allowed a bidding war at the eleventh hour.<br><br>While I understand the legalities of gazumping before contracts are signed, a reputable estate agent is supposed to act with a shred of professional ethics. Instead, this team actively encouraged a bidding war after terms were agreed upon, completely blinding us and chasing a marginally higher commission at our expense.<br><br>They showed zero integrity, terrible communication, and absolutely no respect for the time and money we already invested. If you want an agent that honours their word and handles transactions with transparency, look elsewhere.<br><br>They will drop you the second a shiny new offer comes along. Thankfully they refunded our ID checks.
