We are renting a property managed by Beresford. It is our worst experience. Massive water leaks have not been fixed over months, resulting in dampness all over the flat.
Finally the landlord took over himself and the leak had been fixed within 30 minutes! It turns out the landlord is a very nice person and is as disappointed about Beresford's N O N - P E R F O R M A N C E as we are. This agency proves well why agencies have such a bad reputation and that there is entirely no qualification or basic understanding of construction needed to run these.
Would steer clear at all costs (if you are seeking to rent). Pleasant / friendly enough when you are looking for a property (no surprises there) - however as soon as you sign that dotted line that's it, you are bottom of their priorities... We had so many issues with the property ignored by Beresford over our tenancy. Totally impractical / slow having to deal with the incompetent, passive-aggressive staff as well (our property manager must have changed 3 or 4 times over the tenancy - no fluidity). Side note - Delighted to have learned today that Lettings Agents will not be able to charge lettings agents fees going forward - another way they and other agents have stolen money over the years, thankfully and rightfully coming to an end...!
Prospective tenants beware. Booked a viewing for a property, when I arrived the estate agent had not shown up. After finally getting through, I was not met with an apology but a rude dismissive attitude. This happened again on another day! If you're going to cancel a viewing, call, text or email!
We were shown a property, which didn’t look anything like it did in the pictures. The woman said the property is available immediately, but the landlord is in the process of fixing a leak. When the door opened the first thing we could smell was damp with a sounds of a dehumidifier in the distance. We walked into the house until we hit the dining room and saw the damage. The room had no ceiling!! The woman knew the viewing didn’t go well and even said ‘I don’t know why I always get the bad viewings’ as if this is totally normal!!!
I’m extremely disappointed that the Estate Agent even took this property on in this state let alone getting viewings booked in. Since the bad viewing the property is still a ‘featured’ property so clearly nothing has been done about this.
Awful service. Me and two friends were moving into an apartment on the 20th September. Before this happened we paid for our holding deposit, agency fees, full deposit and first months rent for the flat.
From the beginning of the process their service was amateur at best. They consistently got the rental figures wrong on the forms and agreements we were filling in and also gave us the wrong length contract.
Finally on the evening before we were supposed to move into the flat and get the keys we rang up to confirm times etc and they told us that actually they didn't have the Keys for the flat. The landlord was un-reachable and that there were still tenants living in the flat that we were currently paying for.
After telling this to us, we then had to continuously call them to find out what was happening rather than them keeping us up to date.
To top it off on the day of the 20th, I had to ring the estate agents to find out what was happening as we hadn't received any word from them, only to find out that they were refunding us in full and were not going to be going forward with the process whilst also telling us we need to find alternative accommodation.
Therefore leaving us without a flat, a month after all negotiations had begun and 4 days before our university term began creating a very difficult situation for us. Additionally, no apologies were given and they did not feel bad about the situation whatsoever.
Would recommend to anyone against using their service as they have not been a help since day 1 and have acted appallingly throughout the process.
Lovely local team that know and love the Brixton area. I not normally a big fan of estate agents, but these guys are amazing, very reliable, honest and trustworthy - way better than all those big chains.
I phoned up to make an inquiry and the woman speaking on the phone was very rude and would not get the manager for me when I asked for them. Instead, she spoke to me in a condescending tone and made it seem like I was in the wrong for phoning them as well as putting me down. The member of staff was very rude and did not help me at all, will not be phoning again.
