22nd May 2024 (9 weeks ago)We had the pleasure of dealing with James Pendleton Balham during a prolonged tenancy in London. They have been nothing but professional, kind and efficient. We would like to thank James Smith, who has always been polite, communicative and effective as a property manager. We are very grateful to Sharon Chattalis, whose kindness and sensitivity during a stressful period in our tenancy was enormously appreciated. A solution was found that seemed to be in all parties’ best interests – I don’t think the outcome would have been the same without Sharon’s approach. Special thanks to Chris, who was so helpful to us when he was under no obligation to be – we are very grateful. The team at JP Balham have brought a very human approach to renting in London, which we were not expecting, and are very thankful for.

Special mention to Josh who was so patient with us when we were trying to find the right house for us, always keeping us in the loop and making time for last minute viewings - thank you for finding us our perfect home! They’re definitely the best agents in the area and would 100% recommend.

24th Jul 2024 (3 days ago)I had a really good experience when visiting a property to rent in the area of Clapham. Unfortunately i didn’t manage to get it however Rommel was very helpful and answered all the questions I had. He made me feel comfortable when visiting and helped me visualise the property as me living in it. I would definitely recommend Rommel and KFH for anyone looking for a place to rent.

He really took the time to understand the property and price it just right, and immediately had buyers in mind who would be interested. We had a rocky time with solicitors on both sides and Tom acted as an invaluable go-between, keeping the wheels turning and keeping all parties informed - making things far less painful than they might otherwise have been!- 22nd Feb 2024 (22 weeks ago)We were really lucky to have Catalina helping us find our new flat. She has been amazing from start to finish, really helpful and always there to answer any questions we had. She went above and beyond to ensure we were at ease during the process and was very clued up on the property, area and confirmation process afterwards. It was a no brainer to put our trust in her and we are so glad we did! Thankyou again for all your help, we can’t wait to move into our new home!
22nd Nov 2023 (8 mo. ago)Estate agents said "NO" I cannot book a viewing without answering tedious questions! Intruding how all the positive reviews happen when they clearly don’t prioritise sellers. I just called to book a viewing for tomorrow for a property on Abbeville Road. When I was asked what I’m looking for in a property, I said it changes and and I have a meeting in 7 minutes so I’m happy to answer this question during the viewing. Just not now. The agent was RUDE and insisted I should tell him my criteria which I just am not sure about. In the end I asked: I already told you which property I want to view. Can I book a viewing or not? He said "NO". I hung up. I feel sorry for the property seller because this is how the estate agent is selling the property: Adhering to pointless textbook questions while sabotaging a real sale opportunity.
20th Jul 2024 (7 days ago)I have been renting my property in Battersea with Bairstow Eves at Clapham Junction for 3 years now and they have been BRILLIANT. Right from the very first manager to the current lettings manager, Afsheen Shampour and his colleague Petya Daneva. These two are very approachable and have been supportive and to my view very humble!!!!!! They listen to me, they take my phone calls or promptly reply to them and to my emails. If ever there is anything that I am not sure of, they do patiently explain it to my understanding. I was with FOXTONS at Vauxhall before I moved the renting of my property to Bairstow Eves, Battersea and I can confidently say that my experience with Ash and Petya, Bairstow Eves at Clapham Junction is a billion times better than that with FOXTONS!!!!!!! A very BIG THANK YOU TO ASH AND PETYA AND THE WHOLE TEAM AT CLAPHAMJUNCTION!!!!!!!!!! What e team!!!!!! It's been a pleasure working with them, I am about to stop renting my property via estate agents, but in the future if I am to need the services of an estate agent I WILL DEFINITELY GO TO BAIRSTOW EVES AT CLAPHAM JUNCTION!!!!!!!!! I have to say a huge thank you to Victoria who was everything you could possibly look for in an agent. Constantly in contact, helping to push the transaction through, providing planning drawings for other approved builds in the street (very important for me) and all with a smile and professionalism you’d expect from someone marketing a trophy property in central London. Exceptional!

Camilla Akehurst immediately set herself apart from the other estate agents I’ve interacted with when she showed me around the flat I eventually bought; she was helpful and honest. Lewis then helpfully steered us towards completion and was very responsive and informative. Fully recommend!

He was really attentive, listening to what kinds of places I was after so even took me to view another couple of flats in the area too! Was super helpful, especially for someone who’s just started their flat search. Would recommend to anyone looking in the area. Thanks a lot!

18th Jul 2024 (9 days ago)The agency was very good at bringing in viewings, we originally used a small independent agency and noticed a huge difference in viewing numbers. What I didn’t like was that they told me they could definitely sell my property for X amount when we signed up with them, then immediately wanted to reduce the price and told me ‘let’s be honest you were never going to get X your property is worth Y (lower amount). Very rude and dishonest people. Ultimately we sold it but felt very hard balled into accepting an offer when we felt perhaps we could’ve got more.

I worked with the company back in 2019 - 2021 and left due to poor management. Staff were treated so unprofessionally and it started to affect my mental health. Recently the two owners parted ways and they reached out to me again and asked if i wanted to work with them again. They promised me things have changed and the way they work is much better. I clearly did not last long there, considering that i am leaving this review 3 months after rejoining. I feel compelled to share my thoughts and insights. From the moment I rejoined the company, I noticed a concerning lack of transparency and ethical practices. The management seemed more focused on making quick profits rather than providing quality service to clients. One of the most alarming aspects of this estate agency was their consistent disregard for laws and regulations. They would often cut corners and bend rules to maximize their own gains, leaving clients vulnerable and uninformed. The lack of proper documentation, misleading advertising, and hidden fees were all common occurrences. Furthermore, there was a prevailing culture of dishonesty within the company. Agents were encouraged to use high-pressure tactics and misleading information to secure sales, often at the expense of the clients' best interests. This not only tarnished the reputation of the agency but also created an unhealthy and toxic work environment. Another concerning aspect was the lack of professionalism and accountability. Many of my colleagues lacked the necessary qualifications and experience, which resulted in poor customer service and inadequate advice. Moreover, when faced with complaints or issues, the management would often dismiss or ignore them, leaving clients frustrated and dissatisfied. Overall, my time at this dodgy estate agency was disheartening and has left a lasting negative impression. The lack of integrity, transparency, and professionalism made it impossible for me to continue working there. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to proceed with extreme caution and thoroughly research alternative options.
18th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
