19th Jun 2026 (3 days ago)My friend and I rented a property with Quilliam, through a landlord, back in 2020. After a year of living here we began to notice black mould appearing around the property, including the bedrooms. We advised the landlord of this and his only suggestion was: "Keep a window open" we took his advice but this did nothing. We had to take matters into our own hands and tackle the problem with mould removal sprays all whilst begging the landlord for months to do something about the issue as it wasn't going away and it was effecting our health. He eventually came to the flat and seemingly treated the wall in one of the rooms but even so the smell of mould and mildew was prevalent. Now whilst living here the landlord advised that there was no window in the bathroom and this would cause moisture build up in the air which is a roundabout way of saying that mould issues can and will happen due to inadequate ventilation which is in violation of the human habitation act of 2018 which says that adequate ventilation must be provided in all rental properties which the bathroom didn't. It had a small extractor fan which did nothing to help with the moisture buildup which in turn caused the mould build up and the advice we were given, yet again, was to open the window (We were unsure what the obsession with opening windows was as this wasn't the first time this would be suggested us). Another area that didn't have adequate ventilation was the kitchen as there was also no window in this area. It had an extractor fan but this, again, didn't help to do much and was located right next to the bathroom.<br><br>We left the property, as soon as we were able, for obvious reasons. During the time of us preparing to leave there were viewings at the flat and we were advised, by Quilliam, to clean the flat thoroughly and make it presentable for potential renters which meant we had to help cover up the mould issue within the property.<br><br>On our final day of leaving we had someone from Quilliam come by the flat to start the final checks of the flat and whilst they were there we tried to tell her the issues we were facing and my friend even showed her how living here had worsened her skin condition but this was brushed aside and we were met with the same uncaring spiel of: "Well, if you opened a window..." as if this was some fix all solution for the amount of issues within the flat.<br><br>Living at that flat had taken a toll on our health, personal items and finances. Additionally we found out that the landlord hired someone to do a deep clean on the mould issue within the flat, which wasn't offered to us while we lived there. The CEO of Quilliam, Julia, was also made aware of this but just repeated the same tired quote of: "Open the windows".<br><br>Reading other reviews and I can see this isn't the first time someone has complained about a black mould issue but Quilliam is still running the same gag.

They worked very hard to promote our property in a difficult market and achieved what seemed a reasonable sale price. We particularly liked their calm, un-pushy approach, and how helpful David was with both our sale and ongoing purchase. Highly recommended.

Our property manager Georgia Peters is always supportive, efficient with great communication. whenever we had maintenance issues she ensured they were handled quickly and kept us updated throughout the entire process

Loved the flat.<br><br>Have been in now for 6-month and am very grateful to them both for viewings, managing information flows and getting it over the line.<br><br>Highly recommend using their services!
17th Jun 2026 (5 days ago)The experience with Gascoigne pees was absolutely wonderful.<br><br>Melissa initially showed as around the property and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If we had a question she didn’t know the answer to (which was rare) she just said she didn’t know and found out for us very promptly - honest and open communication which was really appreciated!<br><br>As we went through the process of purchasing the house Melissa Kim and Zoe were so helpful and answered any questions we might have! They all went above and beyond, never pressurising us just giving helpful tips, advice and answering any questions we had quickly.<br><br>I would highly recommend the branch to anyone searching for a property in the area.

On both occasions call-backs were promised but never happened. It seems they can afford to turn away potential clients and business. We will now use other agents.

3rd Apr 2026 (11 weeks ago)We instructed Deacon White in Dunstable as we purchased the house through them a few years previously all your and was impressed with the way the transaction was handled. We mainly dealt with Eliot this time and can honestly say he went way over and above what a typical estate agent would do. The transaction had its ups and downs ( not Deacon Whites fault) and has finally gone through. Eliot was not only professional and curious he was available out of office hours to give reassurance when needed. When I got stressed and upset he was so calm. If you are unsure who to instruct or purchase give these guys a chance as it’s rare to find an estate agent who goes that extra mile. Thank you for all you have done Ray and Leigh

Pamela is our main contact, very professional, communicative, knowledgeable and on top of the whole process - would highly recommend her as an agent. She showed us the property and explained everything in depth and clearly. She’s also very responsive on WhatsApp to all of our questions, which has been very very helpful. She was very kind and accommodating all throughout. Navigating rentals is definitely challenging so Julia’s attentiveness and positive attitude was very comforting. I was in contact with other lettings agencies and agents and I really wish they all possessed a bit of Julia’s kindness..

6th Jun 2026 (16 days ago)Molly was always friendly, responsive and professional in her dealings with us, and we have no criticism of her personally. Unfortunately, our overall experience as buyers was very disappointing. The negotiation process lasted several weeks and involved multiple competing parties, repeated changes in position and prolonged uncertainty. We remained fully engaged throughout, including while away on holiday, and ultimately increased our offer in order to secure the property. Our offer was accepted, the property was taken off the market and we immediately proceeded with ID checks, mortgage arrangements and the other steps expected of a committed buyer. We did so in good faith and on the basis that the transaction was moving forward. However, despite the property being off the market and the sale progressing, we were ultimately gazumped by a higher offer and the vendors chose to proceed elsewhere. We appreciate that estate agents have a duty to pass on offers and that gazumping is legally possible before exchange of contracts. However, what disappointed us most was the lack of certainty and expectation management throughout the process. From a buyer’s perspective, the transaction felt unnecessarily drawn out and poorly controlled, resulting in considerable wasted time, effort, expense and emotional investment. Whilst Molly was courteous throughout, the overall handling of the transaction left us with little confidence in the agency’s ability to provide buyers with any meaningful degree of security once an offer has been accepted.
