From the very beginning, they stood out for their professionalism, honesty, and deep understanding of the market. After a disappointing experience with a previous agent, I was relieved to speak with Kavita and Ranjit—what began as a friendly and informative phone call quickly reassured me that I was in the right hands. Henley Charles is truly different from other agencies. They supported me every step of the way—not only with selling the property but also with arranging solicitors, chasing up previous ones, and taking on additional tasks that went well beyond Kavita’s usual responsibilities. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Their passion and commitment were evident throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a reliable and dedicated team to sell your home, I highly recommend Henley Charles. They really are the best.
12th Jun 2025 (26 days ago)Thinking of renting with these? *AVOID* Damp and serious mould which affected my asthma in 3 rooms (all upstairs) to be told it was lifestyle choice – utter nonsense. Like most households I occasionally aired my clothes downstairs on an airer but majority of the time I used my tumble dryer as I preferred that. I always had all windows on the latch too, so property was ventilated. I should have took this to the council but was mentally drained with it all. I also had a bee infestation & when I reported to Scriven the staff member Jon Dunbar laughed and said ‘they are only bees’ Not only is this very rude and unprofessional but my Mom is allergic to bees so it was putting her health at risk as couldn’t have windows or doors open. Jon visited the property and placed lots of bee killer powder where they were which is illegal. Another issue no oven for 3 weeks!!! An element had gone & the contractor they used (Chapmans) apparently couldn’t get the part! Now I do hold Scriven & Co accountable for that as why didn’t they use logic as business do & look at another alternative? No one can be without an oven for 3 weeks, I incurred financial losses & my rent wasn’t deducted due to this. A part in the shower thermostat went & would only run boiling hot water S&C instructed a contractor but 2 months later I had a huge leak and guess what? The contractor hadn’t installed it properly! I can confirm I only lived in this property for 14 months! I appreciate all properties face challenges but for me I am really offended by the lack of care from S&C. I have found every time an accuse has been made and they have followed protocol HOWEVER I haven’t had a sincere sorry for the unnecessary stress & inconvenience it has caused! The one day I had enough so I visited the agency as soon as the doors opened to be greeted by a young girl at the first desk! She wasn’t on the office phone she was texting on her mobile with her head down. I then had to say quite loud excuse me can I speak to Katie. She didn’t apologise which I thought was very unfitting but I put it down to just another lack of professionalism which I was used to! Now, considering all the issues I have had you would think the end of tenancy would be smooth? That has caused more stress! The blinds which the property had were very cheap & old and I went to a professional blind place as a couple broke. The owner advised me straight away that I would not be able to get those blinds as they were about 10 years old & didn’t meet safety regulations. The landlords advised me they weren’t that old & told me where they purchased them from – which I visited. The lady was very helpful & the first question I asked her was ‘how old she thought the blinds were’ she said 10 years! She also said they were seriously brittle & badly damaged. Not one of the regulations below were met by S&C Landlord's Responsibility: Safety Standards: Cord Safety: Maintenance and Repair: - landlords are responsible for this I received a snotty email from Katie Johnson – which ignored all about the safety regulations & was more bothered about implying that one of my cats destroyed the blinds when sitting on the window sill. Now, say if they had I paid an extra £50.00 PCM for my cats to sleep there so if there was any damage made by them – surely that’s why the extra charges are made? They also wanted to take £50 from my deposit because a bush wasn’t cut in the back garden! Considering all the issues & health risks me & my son faced & they had the audacity to request that? I did have to really fight for this and I had to reiterate all the problems! Now this is a family run business & I would be embarrassed if it was being ran like this! Customer care & exceptional customer experience is so important to me but clearly not to S&C. Scriven & Co you failed massively and your core values aren’t how you conduct business! I can imagine a reply will be sent to me but all this is factual and the truth and for anyone reading this do not give them any business they aren’t worthy of it!
21st Mar 2025 (16 weeks ago)First and foremost I hold Grace in the highest of regards. This chain was chaos from the very beginning as my buyer had to change solicitors and mortgage providers twice while myself and my onward were ready to go for months. There were moments I wanted to, hypothetically, set fire to everything and just start again but Grace was there constantly reassuring me and constantly on the backs on my buyer and his solicitors. At times she turned from estate agent to social worker with my incessant phone calls, stressed out and looking for answers. We joked that after all this was done she would never forget about me and this chain would probably go down as an example of the worst case scenario. Even with absolutely horrendous communication from my buyer and his solicitors Grace always persevered and always came through for me. I can quite easily say Grace is an outstanding estate agent and an absolute grafter. If I ever buy a house again she will be my first call. Thank you Grace.
25th Jun 2025 (13 days ago)I have bought two properties via Cottons Auction House in Birmingham in the past with no issues, so I thought I would use their services to sell a plot of land. Unfortunately they provided no service! I contacted them several times and even made arrangements for the valuer to call out to asses the plot. This did not materialize despite several phone calls to chase the matter. The valuer did not return my calls and i have been left waiting. I shall take my business eleswher.

They gave me effective suggestions to choose the tenant, and kept me regularly updated throughout the whole process. Based on my experience in terms of collaborating with them for the last 7 years, I will recommend this agency to any other new landlords.
28th Jun 2025 (10 days ago)I paid a £2,500 reservation fee for a commercial unit in May, but the contract pack wasn’t provided until November — and by March, key documents were still missing. Communication was poor throughout, and when I raised structural concerns and asked to negotiate, the seller showed no flexibility. I eventually withdrew, having lost time and money. The agent ignored my formal complaint entirely and refused to refund any of the reservation fee, despite delays being outside my control. I would advise other buyers to be very cautious — this process was unfair, unbalanced, and handled with little regard for basic standards of service

Absolutely wonderful service everything from advertising, viewings, finding a tenant and tenancy agreement. I wish Eliza a great success! I have full faith that she will reach high in her career, she’s a good lead negotiator, has strong customer management/soft skills and attention to details. Their marketing and photographs were excellent, they achieved the price we wanted and kept us up to date throughout the entire process. 29th Jun 2025 (9 days ago)Dixons were the estate agents instructed by our landlord for their tenant finding service. The staff that we dealt with were completely uncontactable - we called every day, multiple times, for a week, and emailed - it was impossible to get in contact. Our tenancy agreement wasn’t sent to us in time so we had to sign it when we picked up the keys and it was missing clauses. Moreover, we asked for our Landlord to be asked questions about pets/appliances etc, and after liaising with our Landlord we realised these questions were never asked, despite Dixons giving us “answers” to our questions. We moved in on time which is the only reason this review is not 1 star. Finally, we were asked to give them a 5 star review when we picked up our keys which we thought was poor taste given the service we received.
2nd May 2024 (1 year ago)Throughout my lifetime, I've never encountered individuals as unprofessional and deceitful as those associated with this company, particularly an agent named Luke. Initially, they assured me that my wage was sufficient for the desired apartment, but after I provided the deposit, they began avoiding my calls, imposing unexpected requirements, and threatening to withhold my deposit despite providing inaccurate information. This ordeal left me feeling deeply distressed and anxious, to the point of tears. Luke's actions were not only misleading and dishonest but also malicious. The entire experience has engendered a profound sense of disappointment and resentment towards both him and the company.
14th Jun 2025 (24 days ago)Taylors Halesowen have been brilliant and i would highly recommend. I have sold 2 properties and purchased a property with them over the past 12 months. Selling my late fathers property they were respectful and supportive. We met with 3 different local estate agents. Jaks expert knowledge of the local area and to the point advice won Taylors the work. Lauren guided us through the sale process and was responsive to all enquiries (for which i had a lot). She also has experience with the conveyancing process and her knowledge of this was invaluable. Following this they helped us sell our property and also helped us find a property. Lauren (again) and Fern has been superb throughout this all of this. Fern had a calm and reassuring approach. The property we purchased had many challenges come up (no fault of Taylors) and Fern & Lauren managed to get this completed in just over 3 months. Which was a brilliant achievement considering the circumstances. Anything asked of Taylors was never too much. 29th Jun 2025 (9 days ago)Booked viewing in for a property and was told soonest they could do was in 2 weeks time… day before viewing an hour before close they called and cancelled as stated they hadn’t got the keys, no apology just automatically assumed I would be willing to book again following Saturday… I asked if they would definitely have the keys next Saturday and was met with “we hope so”… told they would call back and confirm a time and no one called back… Have moved on since then as massively off putting. Feel sorry for the sellers as property has been on market for many months and reduced with no sale… estate agents don’t give the vibe they are trying to sell :(
4th Jun 2025 (5 weeks ago)The adverts you get is promising. 10-16% return. It is very attractive. As a business one should know it is too good to be true. The model is they convert auctioned property bought at a very cheap price tag, convert it to a exempt accomodation by changing the structure and add rooms. It would be leased to a social housing company on long term. The property will be sold to you on an inflated price tag by atleast a 100k with a promise of high return. Ofcourse one year later the social housing company introduced by the OPA goes in to administration for not paying their rent. OPA would say not their fault. They have asked a hefty fees for the whole transaction and you do not meet these social housing providers or you don't get multiple options. Also when the social housing provider went to administration there was no help offered. So 100k down the drain and still don't have possession of our own property, I am writing this feedback to warn anyone who is looking to purchase via them. Hope it is helpful.
