15th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Extremely disappointed, we had arranged a viewing and a time today, and we reached outside the property had to come quite a distance, and they refused to pick up any calls didn't have any agents available and after waiting 40 mins and being forwarded to voicemail I had no option but to leave. Avoid these property agents they are extremely unprofessional and do not care about other people's time

10th Aug 2026 (6 weeks ago)Recently moved in to a property let by Dixons, Edgbaston branch. Rent is £950 per month. Upon moving in, we had no working fridge/freezer for 4 months. It had last been PAT tested in 2017. Fridge was connected to the supply through a hole in the wall, which is quite clearly not legit.<br>Landlords were not sorting issues, and we had essentially been let an unsafe, unchecked flat, with a knackered fridge/freezer. Landlords had stored it in an internal cupboard to hide extent of the damage.<br>Went in branch to discuss with Dixons. They said we were on our own. All they do is let the property, and then will have nothing to do with any issues...<br>But you rented this property to us, declaring it was ready to move in? The kitchen tiles are cracked, cupboards hanging off walls and we're left to deal with the disruption of repairs etc.<br>They'll rush you in, take your money, and leave you in a flat that's quite clearly unsafe and needed fixing before new tenants moved in. Would not use again and will definitely not be recommending to anyone.

13th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, very poor customer service. I accidentally got the date of my viewing mixed up and missed the appointment. I accept responsibility for this and was more than happy to apologise and rearrange.<br>However, an hour later I received a call from the estate agent informing me that I had missed the appointment. The way I was spoken to was extremely rude and the agent actually hung up on me.<br>I then called the office myself to apologise and see if the viewing could be rearranged. Unfortunately, the person I spoke to was also very rude and told me that I had “wasted their time”.<br>I completely understand that missing an appointment is inconvenient and I accept my mistake. However, there is a professional way to deal with customers, and I found the attitude of both staff members completely unacceptable.<br>I was genuinely interested in the property, but after this experience I would not use this estate agent and would not recommend them.

9th Sep 2026 (9 days ago)Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience with James Laurence. I took time off work for a viewing, submitted all the requested documents within 30 minutes afterwards, at the asking price without even negotiating, and clearly explained that I needed to secure a place urgently.<br><br>Despite this, I was later told the property had already been let agreed. This happened to me repeatedly, wasting my time and even my annual leave. My credit history and background are good, and I had no issues with the checks.<br><br>They clearly do not value prospective tenants’ time. If you want a smooth and professional experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Very poor service.

They have been easy to get a hold of and very quick to respond. I would definitely come back to Nicholas Humphreys next time we are selling a property.

She was approachable, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the transaction. 14th Sep 2026 (4 days ago)I would not recommend Oakmans based on my experience.<br><br>I moved out of my property on 28 August 2026 and completed the checkout process properly. I handed my keys back in person at around 9am, the keys were scanned and photographed, and I signed the handover confirmation. I also completed and personally handed in the Deposit Release & Outgoing Services form on the same day.<br><br>Oakmans subsequently confirmed to me in writing that “the handover has been completed.”<br><br>My tenancy deposit is £1,125, and I have still received no clear update about when it will be returned. I have contacted them by email but have not received a response from the deposit team. When I called the office, I was told that deposit matters could not be discussed over the phone.<br><br>What is particularly frustrating is that I have followed the procedures Oakmans themselves provided, yet I am being left without any information about my money.<br><br>The new tenants have already moved into the property, so I expected the checkout and deposit process to be dealt with promptly.<br><br>Very poor communication and customer service. I simply want a clear explanation of the status of my £1,125 deposit and when it will be returned.<br><br>I would strongly recommend keeping written records of everything if you are renting through Oakmans.

2nd Sep 2026 (16 days ago)Adam Ali Lettings Manager @ Connells Kings Heath had been parachuted in from Connells Rugby end of May. ( my words not his). We were his first Lettings project at Kings Heath. Presented with an unusual and complicated end of tenancy on our property, Adam was the consumate professional and set about in a friendly manner resolving all of the many issues this end of tenancy presented. His experience and sound advice resulted in a house clearance and refurbishment from 5th June thru to marketing and viewings from end of July to a full letting with new tenants moving in on 18th August. Adam assisted by his collegue James Grey, constantly beat my expectations, especially as the previous Lettings Team had consistently failed to meet my expectations , despite me lowering them year on year. So if you are after experienced professional friendly customer service which put you first, I can recommend Adam and James. I never give 5 stars as I think there is always room for improvement in any organisation.
