Tim, stood out from the competitors - he was empathetic, supportive and 100% genuine. He promised the team would hold my hand throughout the process and they most certainly did that. Rachel, who dealt with the sale demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and kept me fully informed and Christina who dealt with the post sale process was extremely helpful, efficient and kind. She is without doubt - Christina and the Sunshine! I would recommend McFarlane’s Cricklade without reservation.

I spent probably 20 minutes chatting with her, she gave me plenty of advice and help regarding a possible house move. I highly recommend Chappells for anyone looking to buy or sell. They were very good and keen when informed the property was going to put up for sale, however once they had the property on their books, communication dried up from them. Constantly had to chase for an update and even ended up attending the office to get an answer. When they finally did send me a report, they even send me someone's else's as well, so a data breach.

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

But after I was handed to Danny, he applied pressure and pushed us to use ASAP Assured Sale and Progression. Informing us that the sellers were going to use this too so it would make the process easier. This was not the case, not only did the sellers not use ASAP but ASAP were the worst solicitors I’ve ever seen. They wrote inaccurate reports, didn’t respond to messages or read documents sent to them. I can only assume that Danny recommended them so he could get further commissions. When it came to the day of collecting the keys, the agency didn’t even bother to meet me in person. Instead opting to leave the keys with the building receptionist and washing their hands.

They achieved everything I wanted to and even when there where regulatory requirements that needed to be fulfilled they worked with me to achieve the ultimate goal of letting out my property to a great couple. Thank you so much for the smooth transaction and long may your excellent service be provided to not just me but all of your clients I’m sure.
30th Jun 2025 (17 days ago)We rented a property through McFarlanes and the service was sub par. We had mould in the downstairs bathroom for over 5yrs and their resolution was to "open a window" in the middle of winter and a cost of living crisis. We had condensating patio doors when we moved in and this was ongoing until we left the property 6yrs later by which time their was scale and growth between the panes. Upon leaving they expected everything in a better condition than when we moved and are currently contesting our deposit despite evidence. They were even that lax on their side of things that they didnt have the amemded inventory on file so we had to provide it to them AGAIN. Even now, whilst they are trying to use our deposit to pay for repairs they are not keeping us informed without having to chase them. Absolutely shocking people working for a shocking company. Avoid them at all costs!!
