We have recently sold our house in Abercairn Road, James Byrne and his team were great. Really professional, polite and attentive.
We live in north Devon and were obviously selling a property in Streatham Vale but the sale went through with no hassle, regardless of the distance away we were. They dealt with viewings and anything and everything afterwards with out us ever being there.
When we received and accepted an offer of sale, James optimistically suggested that we would complete the sale in 28 days - which we did! - this was through he and his team continually pushing things along!!
We would definitely recommend them.
Ronnie Goff & Simon Joyce
These guys couldn't sell snow to an eskimo!
Lack of feedback and local knowledge
Surprised they haven't closed down
I wouldn't recommend using these monkeys.
I used KFH Streatham to sell my flat. From the initial valuation, viewings and through to completion the team were all excellent, knowledgeable professionals. The regular updates after every viewing and weekly summary call were really helpful.
A special mention for Rita, who found my buyer and managed the sale, in a chain, within difficult market conditions and with issues further up the chain.
This is where a high street agent really comes into their own, chasing properties two up the chain to ensure the chain kept moving and my sale went through. Unlike online estate agents, they don't get paid until completion so they really work hard for everyone to get the sale through.
A top effort, would definitely recommend.
First impressions were quite good, but as I proceeded with 2 certain members of the team, Rita and Daniel to my disbelief.
Dismissive, rude and don't listen you your needs.
I asked umpteenth times for them to not wear shoes in my home, they still ignored me.
The only strategy they had was to lower the price till I had nothing left to sell, given I set out my reasonable objectives at the start.
They valued it way over expectation, which led to just a footfall of people who weren't interested.
Maybe had of I not encountered the first two negotiators, I might not be sitting here today,
I could see that their bad attitude was reflected around my home.
Rita's marketing was negative and not in line with the property I gave them to sell.
My husband and I used Jacksons to buy our family home - after looking at various houses with them they quickly learnt exactly what we were after and were determined to help us find it. When the right house came along James contacted us immediately, and was spot on. We fell in love with the house and we were lucky to secure an offer quickly. Throughout the buying process we were in constant communication with George and James, and both were sure to communicate back to us quickly and effectively. Because of this we were able to go from offer to completion in a short space of time. We are truly grateful that they took the time to learn what we wanted and introduce us to our dream house. Thank you James and George!
Avoid at all costs. Save yourself the time and frustration. I'm a landlord, the rental department is very poor.
We had a good experience buying through Brooks. Jake was communicative and open during the whole process and was highly accommodating. Overall a friendly office and would consider using them in the future.
We have been using Brooks estate agents for a number of years to manage our property. They were the third agent we used and are by far the best. After tearing my hair out with the others I was pleasantly surprised that Brooks listened to my needs, were realistic with price and tenancy but always sought to find the best tenants, even if this meant extra work for them. They also manage the property well, with a personalised but professional service (beware the agencies who run management from a large central London office!). Highly recommended.
Really good team. Sean and Jon responded to emails quickly and kept me informed throughout.
I have had a shockingly bad experience with Marlowe Estates. It could be the one woman (Ebony) who showed me the room initially who has been so thoroughly incompetent. She didn't arrive on time to start off. She didn't even have the keys to the room I was viewing. The only reason I got in was because the person who is leaving the room happened to be home and let me in.
I was told by Ebony I could break the 6 month stipulated contract if I paid a £50 fee...which is the only reason I then went to the office straight away and paid a £200 security deposit. When I arrived at the office Ebony was missing ...even though she left before me in a car and I biked down to the office on a push bike.
There were plenty of warning signs and to be honest it's my fault for not heeding them.
I was told so many things would be confirmed on such and such a day and NONE of it happened. Imagine all this when you're trying to organize a move within a few days.
I was told the day of moving that oops Ebony made another mistake and actually the minimum contract break is to 3 months and it's more than £50 fee.
I actually cannot be bothered to write every incompetency as I now have to find another place to live by 6pm today.
Merely pointing out the incompetencies, I have now been told I'm rude and have been refunded my security deposit.
This is actually amusing.
I do wonder if Marlowe Estates is actually some bizarre harem as the women are dressed up in super spike heels and ridiculously outlandish outfits for the down-and-out properties they are showing around. The difference in appearance is almost comical.
All the best to Marlowe Estates. They've taught me an important lesson. Go with your gut. If the agent shows up late without a key to the room....probably a good idea to keep walking.
