Everything was done in a professional manner and could otherwise be a convoluted process was super smooth and effortless. Special thanks to Jonah who was my main contact there for being extremely helpful!
28th Sep 2024 (25 days ago)It is unfortunate you can’t rate negative stars. I had an extremely disappointing experience with this agency. I was asked to provide documentation, which I did by printing multiple pages to PDF via an iPhone app. Due to a technical issue, the letters "Fi" were missing from several words. It’s called a glyph error and is really common, easy to find on a google search. A technical error a human would never make because you must be really stupid to make the same mistake with the same exact letters on multiple pages. Rather than contacting me to clarify the situation, they completely ignored me and avoided direct communication. I was diverted to a receptionist who blatantly lied, claiming that the agents had suddenly gone on annual leave. It was clear they thought I had fabricated documents, which is both ridiculous and insulting, given that any inconsistencies would have easily been addressed during referencing. I was still in the pre-offer stage, but they chose to act in an unprofessional and cowardly manner rather than addressing the issue head-on. Their approach is biased, stereotypical, and outdated, and it’s obvious they pass this attitude on to new staff. Most of the positive reviews they have are misleading; during viewings, I met several agents who seemed completely uninformed and biased. If you're considering working with this agency, especially as a sales customer, be cautious. Their lack of professionalism could end up costing you, just as it has for others. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

27th Aug 2024 (8 weeks ago)We had a beautiful one bed apartment in the heart of Bloomsbury, high up overlooking the west of London. Our main criterion in selling the property was to meet and talk to the people at the prospective estate agents who were actually going to do the selling, it was not a question of which company might get the highest price or who might have the cheapest commission. We were very impressed with Amir Ghomshei, Foxtons' Sales Manager, and decided to go with them. He then introduced us to the rest of the impressive High Holborn team. Beatrice Rooney, Senior Sales Negotiator, managed the viewings and sale on a day to day basis. They soon had plenty of prospective buyers coming through the door and, relatively quickly, we had agreed a good price for the property. We were hopeful that it would all go through in good time but, being leasehold, and subsequent to the Building Safety Act 2022, there were lots of obstacles to overcome before we could complete the sale. We were dealing with managing agents, the freeholder and their respective legal departments, and having to now come up with more and more paperwork, buying and selling leasehold properties becomes an increasingly difficult and time consuming prospect. However, Beatrice kept on the case in the most amazingly professional manner, we had daily conversations and she did everything she could to help in all aspects of the deal going way further than any other agent we had used before. When she was away on holiday Amir stepped into her shoes and was equally brilliant. Our daily conversations were based around gathering all the additional bits of paperwork which had to be provided and both Beatrice and Amir always went the extra mile in helping to push the whole deal across the line, always keeping us, and of course the buyer, calm and reassured. They were superb throughout the whole process and we could not praise them highly enough for their professionalism and integrity.

18th Mar 2024 (7 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
