24th Aug 2026 (10 weeks ago)Didn't contact us, we had to chase them up all the time. Waited in for someone to view our property only to discover they had cancelled and we weren't notified. Photographs our our property all looked very dark compared to the agent's we have now. They put a for sale sign up that was too short and risked people walking into it, I adjusted myself.

Honestly, it was the best viewing experience ever! David went above and beyond by even returning to the property so that my husband could view it too. That level of dedication, care, and commitment really deserves recognition. His personality, friendliness, and willingness to go the extra mile made the whole experience so much better. If anyone deserves bonus points, it’s definitely David! ?????? Brilliant work, David — you were absolutely amazing! I would also like to give a massive thank you to Jaake for all his help while David was on holiday. Jaake was incredibly helpful, approachable, and informative, and he made sure I got all the information I needed. His support was greatly appreciated, and he was a pleasure to deal with. 23rd Oct 2026 (9 days ago)We had 2 valuations, which were both the same ,though we decided to go with Masons because they included a number of things which were additional costs elsewhere. Also we bought this house from Masons and were very pleased with them as buyers. All staff are friendly and polite and helpful. We have had monthly revies and good feedback from them on the state of the market.
6th Oct 2026 (26 days ago)Well they got the job done in the end. But a mixture of a high valuation and very passive engagement with the market meant it took a long time to sell. Fair but not great communication and engagement during the process. The only two viewings that both led to acceptable offers, only came in the final weeks before we changed agency!

26th Feb 2026 (8 mo. ago)We started with the ‘well known large Kent estate agent’ who were absolutely dire and let us down badly, whereas Firefly gave sensible advice, were always responsive and always answered the phone. A smaller independent agent like Firefly gives you the same Rightmove coverage as those giant agents but with more reasonable fees and staff that actually care about their customers. We would whole-heartedly recommend Firefly.
31st Jul 2023 (3 years ago)Living in Bridlington and having to sell my parents property in Louth I was unsure of which estate agent to use , however , I just recalled that a board with "John Taylor " on had been outside my grandparents property way back so I decided on that. What a great decision that was, John Taylor have been exceptional from day one to completion, always at the end of the phone with help and advice, great communications as to when viewings would be ( the property was empty and the keys left with John Taylor, and a great understanding that this was not just a house sale to me but the sale of my family home for the last 69 years, the house I grew up in and called home for all those years. I cannot fault them in any way , the only word I can use is "exceptional" Special thanks to Anne who was outstanding , she is a star. kindest regards to all at John Taylor and many many thanks . Experienced zero support even when I tried to discuss strategy to ensure better interest in my property. I feel I wasted 16 weeks with little communication or care. Glad to be moving on with another local agent who has already proved themselves to be much more engaged with the seller than I experienced with Hunters in Horncastle.

8th Sep 2026 (8 weeks ago)Seemed to rely on one person that views three times and got put off by daughter. Didn’t find anyone else after that. I think that put all their eggs into one basket. Even though we were with them for 22 weeks they still insisted on a notice period before they stopped marketing which I thought was a bit harsh as it stopped us marketing with a new agent.
21st May 2026 (23 weeks ago)I couldn’t fault either of the agents that have helped me, Danni was amazing from the get go, at the viewing she made me feel at ease instantly, she listened to my needs and has helped me every step of the way, I couldn’t fault her and I feel it wouldn’t of gone so smoothly if it wasn’t for her, when Danni was unavailable Jess help me who in turn was amazing too, I really appreciate everything that has been done for me and my daughter, I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a property to speak to Danni, thank you guys you have been fantastic.

26th Oct 2026 (6 days ago)We recently sold my parents' home through Homemove, and the service we received from Ben Sales and Charlotte was outstanding from start to finish. Ben was fantastic throughout the process. He spent a great deal of time with my mum and dad, carefully explaining everything and making sure they understood each stage of the sale. What really stood out was the respect and patience he showed them. Unlike some other agents we met, who directed their questions to me rather than my parents, Ben always made them feel involved, listened to, and valued, building that trust was really important to my parents (and to myself) to ensure they felt as comfortable as possible in what is a stressful time. Charlotte, our Sales Progressor, was equally brilliant. Her communication was excellent throughout, and she worked tirelessly to keep things moving. She was constantly chasing updates from solicitors, other estate agents, our buyer, and all the various parties involved, keeping us informed every step of the way. Selling a property that our family has lived in for 50 years has been incredibly stressful and emotional, but Ben and Charlotte made the whole experience so much easier with their professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for their clients. We are incredibly grateful for all their hard work and would not hesitate to recommend Homemove to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
13th Aug 2025 (1 year ago)From the first time we meet Charlotte we was really impressed we felt she very friendly and had our best interest in mind she gave us the confidence to sell our property and look for a property that was more suitable for us. We are now much happier in our dream property that we would never have purchased if it was not for Charlotte giving us some confidence. Claire who we never meet but was just has friendly and kept us up to date on how sale was going and chasing solicitors etc. We are glad everything worked out in the end and would definitely recommend Charlotte and Claire to any body buying or selling Michael/Alison Whelan

15th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.
