30th Oct 2026 (2 days ago)Lancasters continue to disappoint me. They don't respond to emails, and give fake promises over the phone. I have been nothing but patient and polite. But it's beyond ridiculous how they have treated me with such disregard as a tenant.<br><br>I've made another report 6 months ago and absolutely has been done.<br>There are issues with damp and black mold, blocked plumbing, freezing draughts, leaking roof. (Most of which has actually been reported as far back as 2024.)<br><br>When I moved into the property they said it would be deep cleaned. It wasn’t. It took a full day of cleaning before moving our belongings because it was absolutely filthy.<br><br>After a few months I noticed many poorly done fixes to make the house appear rentable. Alot of things had just been left broken or unusable even though there was plenty of time for it to be fixed beforehand.<br><br>I'm extremely disappointed in Lancasters lack of service and professionalism.<br><br>Edit in response to Lancasters: Not even 3 days after this review was made my partner was contacted by the agent who is in charge of this property to ask if we had left the review. He asked me to remove his name from the review which I did, (through gritted teeth) but this was the only reason we were contacted and the only reason why any works took place. It took naming an agent and to actually get something done. (Even though that something hasn't been completely resolved.)<br><br>It took over a month for the repointing to be done to the house and for extractor fans to be put in the kitchen and bathroom (which somehow don't help)<br>The house is still freezing, the roof is still leaking when it rains and the toilet is still backed up. As of October 2026 it's now been EIGHT MONTHS since I've reported the leak and the plumbing. I contacted your "unnamed agent" again last week asking for an update and was fobbed off. Again.<br><br>So we're back to square one.<br><br>Also to try and gaslight your tenants by saying the review isn't verified because I'm not using the name on my birth certificate as a username is ridiculous to say the least. I feel like ripping my hair out every time I have to attempt contact with Lancasters to be met with dismissive responses.

She has consistently gone out of her way to help me out. Definitely couldn't have had a better first renting experience.

Things weren’t so straightforward but they ensured we had regular updates and made sure our house sale and purchase was completed. Maria even went over and above and drove documents to Sheffield to ensure we exchanged on the right day. Thanks so much - we love our new home! ??????
14th Oct 2026 (18 days ago)This service appears to screen calls and redirect unwanted numbers directly to voicemail. As a result, it is almost impossible to reach a real person. Very frustrating and unprofessional customer experience. I would not recommend them.
27th Oct 2026 (5 days ago)WH Brown manage our rental property for us and we couldn’t be happier with the level of support we receive from the letting and property management team.<br>Erica Collins has been outstanding. Also, to mention Scarlett Rafferty who has also been outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and communication is excellent.<br>We are more than happy with the service they provide.
26th Oct 2026 (6 days ago)I sold a rental property with Gemma Bellamy's team in Jul 25, with Reeds selected after meeting Victoria, who was pretty much the only useful person I dealt with, but sparingly available.<br><br>Key issues:<br>- Negotiation was shockingly bad. Their approach was the standard "open house - here's your best offer" after 1 day of viewings. Little interest in negotiation/doing further viewings after. A somewhat satisfactory offer was only obtained further down the line when they were pushed into a corner to do this or lose the business.<br>- Poor progression skills. Maisie: amazingly bad at just about anything she touched. Cheryl: excellent at appeasing and then doing nothing of consequence after.<br>- Work is outsourced; this is used as an explanation as to why branch staff are clueless about your case<br>- Expensive for the quality of service. Another rental completed in half the time and at a competitive price by Hunters<br>- There was an entire day when no one was around to pick up the phone due to staff shortages<br>- The ability to successfully navigate curveballs associated with buyers in the area was a key concern discussed pre-selection and confirmed as a skillset. There was no apparent interest in tackling these when they arose.<br><br>In summary, a very substandard team overseen by a very substandard branch manager. I believe any other Hillsborough estate agent would do a better job of selling a house and at a lower cost.<br><br>EDIT: These concerns were raised repeatedly over the phone and e-mail. The fact that Josh is a lettings employee commenting on the performance of a sales team he doesn't belong to is an excellent example of how poor the sales team is at their job. I've attached some screenshots from just the tail end of a 5 month dragged out process seeing as "you have no record of these concerns". Loads more where that came from.<br><br>In further updates this morning, Josh claims that the team is human and has to start somewhere and that they've all magically improved to market leading standard over the last year. So if you'd like to wager the proceeds of your house sale on Josh's charity cases, look no further than Reeds Rains Hillsborough.

13th Oct 2026 (19 days ago)?????<br><br>Where do we even begin!<br><br>My partner and I recently sold our property through Hughes, and what a rollercoaster of a journey it's been! Through absolutely no fault of Hughes, our experience of buying and selling has certainly had its fair share of ups and downs.<br><br>It all started when we found our first potential home, only to have our offer rejected. The same thing happened with the second property, but thankfully, it was third time lucky!<br><br>Throughout this process, Lewis was incredibly patient, supportive and reassuring, always reminding us that the right property would come along for us and our family. And he was right!<br><br>Fast forward to the day before completion, and what should have been an exciting time turned into our worst nightmare when our buyers pulled out. Rachel worked tirelessly to get everything back on track, going above and beyond to help save our move. I genuinely cannot thank her enough for her determination, hard work and support during what was an incredibly stressful time.<br><br>Even on completion day, the challenges weren't quite over! The property we were purchasing hadn't been fully cleared, with numerous belongings still left behind. Danielle stepped in and communicated with our buyers, explaining the situation and why we hadn't been able to completely empty our own property.<br><br>What really stood out to us was that, whenever another problem arose, there was always someone at Hughes willing to help, reassure us and find a solution.<br><br>I'd like to say a massive personal thank you to Lewis, Rachel, Danielle and the entire Hughes team.
