The whole team were invaluable helping us all the way, especially given the trouble and issues we had with getting things moving, the the Horizon Team worked tirelessly to support us every step of the way, and we have now completed our house move, and would certainly recommend anyone to use this Agent. Almost every member of staff was called upon over the long time we took, and Horizon chased and pushed at every opportunity. Thanks to them all, Calum, Kerry, Reece and everyone else in the amazing team.

30th Mar 2026 (5 weeks ago)Danielle, Sue, Jade and Dave have been great while we were renting. Danielle contacted me with the idea of a short term flat rental and it worked out perfectly! And filled the gap while we were in the market for buying a property. The guys i dealt with listed were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and easy to chat to. 100% recommend these guys. They did also try and help us find our forever home but sadly that didn't happen with these guys but they were great every step of the way and were pleased when we did find that home even though it wasn't through them.
15th Apr 2026 (21 days ago)If I could give zero I would! I’d never rent via Ayers ever again and would never recommend to anyone! The branch in Southend on sea has some very rude staff with no people skills! We rented a flat that had been newly done up on the understanding that there was no issues with it… on the day we moved in there was noticeable water damage to a wall in the main bedroom which we immediately called the office they sent out a builder who told us there was water damage to the external wall and to draw round it with a pen! Over that year we reported more and more problems where we got sent a builder who kept saying we will talk to the landlord but nothing got done! The landlord took over £400 from our deposit because of this issue and over a month after we handed the keys back we’ve been hit with another bill that isn’t our fault and to make it worse it was an email not even a phone call! Overall your staff are rude and don't know how to communicate or even do their jobs correctly! As someone who has rented through a couple of different estate agents I am deeply disappointed, angered and disgusted with how we are being dealt with!

Communication from Nest was top notch all the way through the sale, which at times was very frustrating due to sub par legal support....They remained very professional throughout with candid updates without the fluff. Everyone in the chain was kept up to date with cause of delay and next steps. My family have used them a few times now and cannot fault the dedication and service.....

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

It had taken us quite some time to find the right property, but Elliot demonstrated a clear understanding of exactly what we were looking for, which made the process feel far more focused and efficient. Elliot took the time to fully understand our requirements, not only in terms of the property itself but also the specific area that would best suit our needs. We are extremely grateful for everything Elliot and the wider team have done for us and would highly recommend their services to anyone searching for a home!

10th Apr 2026 (26 days ago)Previous sales/purchases with other agents have shown a stark comparison to what we have experienced with our recent purchase with BEAR in Leigh on sea. Communication has often been poor and at times abrupt. We had to constantly prompt and chase for information and basically progressed the purchase ourselves. On collection of our keys it felt like a big anti climax...we were handed our key in a scrappy envelope..no card. On ALL of our other sales/purchases we received a card and even a bottle of wine. We will not be recommending BEAR in Leigh. We would however recommend Hunt Roche in Thorpe Bay, they were absolutely excellent.
14th Apr 2026 (22 days ago)We haven't had to go through the nightmare of moving house for over forty years but we survived the emotional roller coaster this time round thanks to Stanton Hockett. Not easy for two eighty year olds I must admit who simply want to go live near their daughter up north! We approached the move with trepidation but their approach from the outset was totally re-assuring and empathetic. Tom started the ball rolling with his no fuss approach and we then graduated to the big guns, Brad & Gavin, after they found us a young couple to buy our treasured family home. They might have been a dating agency so suited to us were our young buyers. As apparently often occurs our journey through the legal processes to exchange and completion took us between peaks of elation to valleys of frustrated despair and back again but they were there to support us when we needed it. Thank you Tom and Lewis, thank you Gavin and most of all thank you Brad for your impeccable service to us in the sales progression stage. We are on our way now and feeling a whole lot better about our future.
