Ive been dealing with John Dillion at Chancellors in Notting Hill, his level of efficiency and attention to detail is possibly the best amongst agents I have worked with. I have been in real Estate coming on 20 years and he is the best sales agent, i highly recommend him and his sales team.
Avoid at all cost! Organised scam at the end of tenancy!
During tenancy, the agency took weeks before fixing major issues such as broken windows in winter.
At the end of tenancy, the landlord claimed over 2 weeks of rent for a professional clean and minor scratches on the floor and walls that existed prior to the start of the tenancy.
Anscombe uses a one-man inventory agency company dubbed Ft2 inventories. This agency conducts a light check-in inventory report at night time and a very detailed check-out inventory report at day time. The flat was left spotless after a 280GBP professional clean yet Ft2 inventories reported the flat was not cleaned up to professional standards.
Landlord and Anscombe backed down from the claim after weeks of muscling up and proving that claim was unfounded.

Contacted them two months ago looking for a flat. A guy name Tom was very nice on the phone but not once in person. He argued that I said my limit was 1,300 pcm while I said 1,200 pcm. However, he showed us 4 flats, none of them under 1,300 (the cheapest was 1,350), insisting in that "the normal thing is to spend the 80% of the salary on the rent. Well, that may be your case Tom, but I don't want to struggle every month to pay my bills. He rudly insists so much on this that he even took a calculator and started calculating how much money we would still have after paying 1400 for a 1 bedroom flat near Portobello Market (btw, I thought the limit supposed to be 1300...). He also added that we will not find a 1 bedroom flat for less than 1300, unless we go to live to heathrow. Well, guess what Tom, we find it in Hackney for 1150, and it is not the crappy flats you showed to us (one of them included the landlords -an old couple that, I guess, wasn't expecting having two girls living together- living on the second floor of the building). I am not saying this the experience you will get with Foxtons. Not at all, at the same time colleagues from Foxtons Archway, Ealing and Greenwich were being incredibly kind and professional with us. I just believe this particular "Tom" from Foxtons Notting Hill is only used to work with wealthy people that would pay whatever they asked for a old, muddy, crappy flat in Kensington. It's fine, just tell me from the begining and don't go wasting my time.
Alina and the team were more than helpful when I wanted to rent my apartment in paddington, good clear communications, effficient and respectful of my current tenants when arranging viewings etc. I would happily use them again.
The "service" received from Chestertons Hyde Park office is literally so bad it cannot conceivably be called a service.
An agreement was signed by both parties on a prospective sale agreeing to commission of 1.25%. The property was sold and Chestertons sent an invoice charging commission at 1.5%. When I refused to pay the difference, the South African sales manager Dylan James turned up at my house and literally tried to kick my front door in. My teenage daughter was inside and terrified. Mr James proceed to loiter at my front door for the best part of an hour - smoking cigarettes, shouting and threatening violence. Upon eventually returning to his office he called me and threated to employ heavy-handed debt collectors if I didn't cough up. I refused to pay a penny more than the rate agreed. Mr James eventually and ungracefully accepted.
This firm is arrogant, dishonest, and inefficient.
