6th Mar 2025 (12 days ago)Absolutely brilliant estate agents - Portico were aggressive with their pricing but had sold equivalents at that price so I had faith. And that faith paid off. The whole process was smooth sailing, we got offers at the asking price and Portico were communicative and easy to deal with throughout the whole sale.

28th Dec 2024 (11 weeks ago)Absolutely shocking to be honest and has lost a lot of trust for the getagent service. It was near impossible for me to get updates from elms estate I cannot imagine how a buyer was able to get much communication. We were only provided with 1 price adjustment to the advert a month into listing the property and we had no further advice in updating anything from outside to improve ad performance. We only had 1 viewing for the property in which we could see elm estate struggle to answer basic questions related to the property such as what the service charge covers. Overall horrible experience and will definitely not be recommending elms estate to anyone.

21st Oct 2024 (21 weeks ago)I have moved properties with this agent for the second time. Our previous landlord was selling the property and the agency kindly relocated us without any hassle and helped in all matters. I.e. van removal, updating bills and so on.

9th Oct 2024 (23 weeks ago)1. Contract Issues: Madison Brook pressured us into signing the contract and moving in despite the property being unready. The contract was only provided one business day before the move-in date, giving us no time to thoroughly read and review it, especially since it was sent on a Friday, leaving us with insufficient time. To make matters worse, we were only able to collect the keys on Monday, two days after the contract start date. 2. Poor Property Condition: Upon moving in, the property was far from ready. After repeated requests, the walls were finally repainted, and the bathroom door can now be locked. However, the carpet still hasn't been replaced, and several key facilities such as the microwave, sliding door, windows, fridge, and railing remain unrepaired. These unresolved issues have severely affected our living experience. 3. Lack of Move-In Guidance: There was no guidance or explanation provided upon moving in. To this day, we are still struggling to figure out how to handle utility bills and even the details of the suppliers. Although they responded by saying this is not their responsibility, in my six years of living in the UK and having worked in the property industry, I have never encountered such a lack of support. 4. Communication Issues: The internal communication at Madison Brook is extremely poor. Two weeks ago, we were told the carpet would be replaced last week, but today they only came to take measurements, not to replace it. Their inefficient communication throughout the process has led to repeated disappointments. Additional Note: As tenants, we have been very understanding and even removed some factual reviews in the past. Having worked in the property industry, I am well aware that this situation is in serious violation of UK rental laws. The continuous repairs and ongoing communication after moving in have consumed a significant amount of my time and energy, severely affecting my work. I,M FED UP.

I had successfully bid for an apartment, however, due to unforeseen circumstances back home, I had to withdraw my application. Paul was extremely professional, kind and understanding of my situation. 18th Oct 2024 (22 weeks ago)Rented us a property that was clearly unsafe and unfit for human habitation. They agreed to terminate our year-long contract after only 12 days, before re-listing the property online only hours later. We had to stay in temporary accommodation for 3 weeks whilst CR ‘repaired’ 28 Leopold St. It ended up being very different to when we had viewed and what we were promised (no light bulbs, furnishings that we were told came with the property were missing, electric & gas top up key systems etc.). Within 2 days we had no gas, electricity or running water due to a dangerous leak in the fuse box. Before this was identified, one of the many electricians who came round advised me to flip the switch board whenever the electricity went out, putting me in danger. We were asked to vacate the premises whilst the electricity was still a risk, which rendered us a household of homeless young women. We were offered £26.25 each a night for a hotel, which unsurprisingly doesn't scratch the surface of last-minute weekend bookings in London. CR insisted the leak had magically appeared after the one time we had used the shower. They nailed some wooden boards over where the leak was coming from despite us begging them to carry out proper repairs for our safety. Unsurprisingly, the leak persisted, and CR reluctantly agreed to terminate our contract after only 12 days once we identified Mohammed Ali Hassan, the Director of CR, as being the landlord through the Land Registry. Four hours later, the property was relisted for cheaper. They started ripping out the bathroom once we left, proving they had knowingly lied about the leak being fixed by pinning up some planks of wood. Almost a month on, 3 out of the 4 of us are still facing housing insecurity, living either with friends/family or in temporary accommodation. This is because of CR’s greed, unprofessionalism, and dishonesty. They even implied that we stole the property's electricity meter key and asked us to consider that “it was an unfortunate situation for the landlord”, and that they did us a favour by “letting us stay for free” in a house that was uninhabitable. This is inaccurate and insulting on all counts. TENANTS: You have been warned, steer clear, and good luck to those already contractually stuck. LANDLORDS: Letting through CR could cause more stress than it is worth as their sloppy business dealings could negatively impact you too. This experience is reflective of how the Director himself handles his own properties. We had legal standing to be released from our contract due to CR’s poor choices, which could happen to you with your tenants and lose you money. MOHAMMED ALI HASSAN & CR EMPLOYEES: The unprofessional manner in which you have conducted yourself is embarrassing and has had real impacts on three young women who now have no where to live. We are reasonable people who want minimal stress and we would have remained in our tenancy had you have fixed the leak properly on the first instance and given us suitable temporary accommodation. This behaviour will eventually come back to bite you. Perhaps you should spend less time on your podcasting endeavours and spend more time carrying out the bare minimum for your tenants. The council, local MPs & Propertymark have been made aware of the events described above. I recommend other tenants pursue the same avenues if they are unfortunate enough to find themselves in a similar position.
