2nd Oct 2024 (25 weeks ago)Winkworth Hackney were fantastic in helping myself, partner and friend a lovely 2 bed property in the local area. Rory in particular really understood exactly what we were looking for and went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the flat we ended up renting. Could not recommend their friendly and communicative branch enough when looking for a new property!
16th Oct 2024 (23 weeks ago)Chestertons were great selling our flat near Caledonian Road. They were direct and upfront about how to price it and the strategy for getting serious buyers in for viewings. Their team flooded the flat with people, leading to several serious offers, some in excess of asking price. When things became challenging during a long chain process, Roberto was incredibly supportive, working very hard to reassure people on both sides of the chain and keep things moving. They were direct, clear and did what they said they would do - would recommend.

6th Mar 2025 (22 days ago)Absolutely brilliant estate agents - Portico were aggressive with their pricing but had sold equivalents at that price so I had faith. And that faith paid off. The whole process was smooth sailing, we got offers at the asking price and Portico were communicative and easy to deal with throughout the whole sale.
18th Sep 2024 (6 mo. ago)Rented a place in London from Holland for a number of years. Very positive experience. Open and accessible, and we had very few issues with the property but all were resolved very quickly. Good people to rent from!
28th Dec 2024 (13 weeks ago)Absolutely shocking to be honest and has lost a lot of trust for the getagent service. It was near impossible for me to get updates from elms estate I cannot imagine how a buyer was able to get much communication. We were only provided with 1 price adjustment to the advert a month into listing the property and we had no further advice in updating anything from outside to improve ad performance. We only had 1 viewing for the property in which we could see elm estate struggle to answer basic questions related to the property such as what the service charge covers. Overall horrible experience and will definitely not be recommending elms estate to anyone.

1st Mar 2025 (27 days ago)Overall, a positive experience. The viewings were good, i don’t think they pushed for the most money, but I didn't ask them too so not really a negative. I do think the post sale service needs a lot of work though - I am the one pushing everything along, and chasing the agent and both solicitors, and more could be done to be more pro active. But the sales process was good overall.
14th Oct 2024 (24 weeks ago)After an initially bumpy start with a staff member who thankfully moved on, the team at Portico (including the new manager Federico, supported by Magdalena and Gareth) pulled out all the stops to get me a great price and steward the sale through. I cannot thank them enough. Great team. Would thoroughly recommend them.

He is an excellent agent who managed to arrange everything for my flat rental in the shortest possible time. Despite it being a day off, he was incredibly attentive to my needs, understanding the urgency of the situation, and ensuring a smooth process from start to finish. His professionalism, respectful approach, and efficiency made all the difference. I highly appreciate his dedication and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and committed agent.

29th Oct 2024 (21 weeks ago)they may be good for landlords, but as a tenant I've been very disappointed. They only do enough, never give you a friendly advice, always pretend to being correct towards all the parts while they're really only caring of their income. Never had big things to complain but many small ones - for example using their fob to get into the building and in front of my door instead of using the intercom to get access, even when invited to. Edit: 10 years after I left this review - they decided to reply with some accusations, so it seems that they haven’t changed! For the records, I left the flat clean, and paid for the end of tenancy cleaning, like requested. But hey, this show again they are not nice. Approach with caution.

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Right from the start, he was incredibly helpful, offering tips and recommendations that made the whole process much easier. He kept everything moving smoothly by acting as the main point of contact between buyer / seller and the solicitors. I especially appreciated how approachable Billy was - I always felt like I could reach out with any question, and he’d respond quickly with clear, honest answers. Overall great experience!

He was straightforward and fairly represented both sides without favouring either which built a lot of trust. A different world of experience to any other agent we came across during our buying process. We could not recommend more highly.

Being a first time buyer it is already very stressful getting to grips to the London market but, the guys at David Astburys has always been super supportive and ensured I understood everything. Highly advise anyone looking for a property in Islington to reach out to Amin at David Astburys! They will take care of you!
27th Oct 2024 (22 weeks ago)I have never seen a real estate company that operates so unethically in my life! If I were a homeowner and couldn’t get my home sold through this agency, I would decide to sell my house! As a tenant, I haven't even been able to get my leaking faucets fixed for a full 7 months! The staff are constantly on holiday. Their manager has no idea about their employees! Whenever an issue arises, everyone just redirects me to someone else, and I can never find a solution. Despite sending 47 different emails to resolve a problem, after 7 months I realize that the employees are not even aware of the issue. Even if they offered the most beautiful home in the world, do not rent from this company. I have never seen a more poorly managed business in my life. It’s shameful! Update Still samee... Around 8 months ago, we contacted Foxtons about various issues with our bathroom. We also submitted the necessary request through Foxtons’ portal. We asked for the leaking taps in our bathtub to be replaced and for a bath screen to be installed. Five different “specialists” came to our home, each conducting an “inspection” ???????? Finally, a technician arrived, replaced a tap that wasn’t broken, but didn’t touch the faulty one. To replace this unnecessary tap, they broke the bathroom tiles, and we have now been using a bathroom with broken tiles for nearly 3 months. Meanwhile, the taps continue to leak... Each month, an employee named Imogen calls to apologise, yet none of our issues have been resolved. Unfortunately, the word “embarrassing” doesn’t even begin to describe this company’s approach to service.
