Barnard Marcus and their entire team have been exceptional throughout what has been a very frustrating set of circumstances. Due to a number of unforeseen delays and complications we ended up waiting for 8 months to complete on an empty and unoccupied property with no chain. Everyone from our Bank, Solicitors and “Help to buy” were awful, making countless mistakes which ended up costing us weeks at a time. Barnard Marcus and their estate agent team were always in the background, chasing, clarifying and sometimes just exercising shear will power to push this property to completion.
A special thanks to Elliot Purcell who I could tell had become as emotionally invested in our purchase as we were over the 7 months he was facilitating it. Throughout this process he has been honest at all times whilst offering me frank and simple explanations where my own solicitors had failed. His level of communication was above and beyond making sure that I was always in the loop on developing problems. I can honestly say that I had an immense feeling of relief whenever Elliot called me as I knew he would be fighting to sort the problem.
Due to the difficult nature of this purchase more than the usual amount of pressure was placed on Barnard Marcus’s mortgage advisor Paul Simey. Again, he provided us perfect service and was a constant source of advice through what I remember was some very stressful months. We ended up having to complete 2 mortgage applications due to unforeseen circumstances and he took each in stride quickly and efficiently.
Disgusting service! So disappointed. Don't waste your time. No communication. What a terrible branch. Who gives such people jobs? I'm disgusted at their customer service. Please save your time and money and deal with another agent.
I recently took on a rented property via Barnard Marcus. My particular estate agent was charming; understood and was sympathetic to my needs; punctual and efficient. I got exactly what I wanted, and I even got a hug when I collected the keys!
They are great.
They are absolute liars. They took 350 pounds for advance and stuff. We paid the amount and a week later that lady called and told my husband that our references had not cleared hence they can't rent out the property. My husband spoke to our current landlord and employer to asking why they have not given the right reference and they both told they didn't say anything wrong because we had always paid rent on time and stuff. Then my husband spoke to the letting lady again asking the reason she said for some silly reasons they can't reveal it. Lastly as we had no other choice my husband asked them to refund our advance deposit which we thought was for the property, they said that was the processing fees ....I mean who charges bloody 350 pounds for checking references in 2 days. They are absolutely crap no one should go to them.

Please avoid this agency for your life. They ignored most of my email and they will. Also, they lied a lot, they don’t keep their promise.
They changed move-in date twice when I move in date. They didn't give the key when I move in. So I have to pay an additional fee to Van. To remove all trash it takes for a moth. There are so many Trash in the property and damaged all furniture. It's impossible to live in this property. We cleaned it....
Even Ben and Sam came to check my house condition. Ben said, "I can not live in this property." Although we had the meeting a lot, those issues haven't solved for so long time.
Currently(9/2018-still now), I am doing the compensation process.

I wouldn't recommend them. I booked an appointment. When I got there the next day the girl wasn't there. They called her to let her know I'm in the office, she informs them she never spoke with me or even booked but yet I knew her name. So unprofessional

Not even one star. Street ahead sell very well, then tell you to review them 5 stars straight after that. however, when you have problems like we have for the past near 6 months, they cannot help you. We have been without keys and important maintenance now for 6 months which has been anything but a positive experience. The property management team appear to be lazy as they don't actually do anything to help and sometimes even ignore emails and don't call back. Never use Streets ahead is my recommendation.
