9th Jun 2026 (13 days ago)The ladies at Holmans were superb. (and Roger)We were kept updated all the time and nothing was too much trouble. They calmed us when we needed reassurance and helped keep the chain intact, which is not easy in today’s market. Would thoroughly recommend for selling houses.

26th May 2026 (27 days ago)I have recently completed on my Grade 2 listed property which was my dwelling for many years. It has not been an easy sale process but I have to say that Charlie Comber and his team at Hayman- Joyce, particularly Hermione Walls have kept me sane through their patient endeavours. It was somewhat of a painful process. However hopefully my property has passed on to worthy new owners. I cannot recommend Hayman-Joyce more highly, for being an enthusiastic and realistic estate agent.

26th May 2026 (27 days ago)As a young first-time buyer, I had no choice but to use Shipways. The entire process was highly stressful and completely unsupported. The irony is that when our offer was accepted, they were incredibly strict about enforcing a 28-day exchange of contracts. We did everything right—secured our mortgage offer and got completely ready—only for the process to stall because my solicitor was waiting on Shipways for an amended contract!Despite their strict demands on us, I was constantly chasing them via email, receiving minimal responses or mere acknowledgements rather than actual guidance. If I hadn't sought external support, I don’t know how I would have managed. Be prepared to do 99% of the chasing yourself.On completion day, funds were released and we had confirmation hours prior. Despite this, the agent’s response was simply, 'I haven't been made aware,' acting as if assisting us was a massive chore. She was incredibly curt and short with us, causing immense panic while removal vans were waiting.To top it off, I couldn't collect the keys in person, so I sent someone else. Shipways handed the keys over blindly, asking for absolutely no ID or confirmation of identity. For contrast, the property was multi-agency, and when we dealt with the other agents (AP Morgan), they were a completely different league. They required proof of ID and proper forms, highlighting just how poor and lax Shipways' security and customer service truly was. Use them with extreme caution.
4th Jun 2026 (18 days ago)Having to lodge a formal complaint, and consider the property ombudsman. Long story short, in my view they got us on the hook with a valuation that was far above what it could actually sell for. Three months later, not a single offer, despite dropping the price as they advised. Around half of our viewings have been no shows, suggesting that these were not vetted and not serious buyers. Lots of other issues, including a lack of proper updates, sending their most junior staff to do viewings. We are locked into a 6 month sole agency agreement which they won’t let us exit from despite complaining and setting this out to them. I would urge you to consider another agent. That being said, I think they are nice people, perfectly pleasant - just not happy with the service given.- 11th Jun 2026 (11 days ago)AVOID CONNELLS AT ALL COSTS I am receiving passive aggressive emails from Connells 5 years after they made my house purchase 10x harder than it needed to be despite being told my information had been removed from their databases in line with GDPR regulations- clearly they cannot even manage that. As a first time buyer I was given a terrible deal as I unfortunately did not know any better- if you are a first time buyer, or really any buyer, AVOID CONNELLS. EDIT 17/3/26 - you’ve replied telling me to get in touch to make it look to people like you’re doing something about this but you have now not replied to my email. Again, Connells cannot manage the most basic of tasks - do not involve them in your purchase/sale/rental of your house. Edit 1/6/26 still no reply, avoid this company. 11/6/26 I have received another email reminding me to renew my mortgage, clearly GDPR means nothing to this company. I still have not received an email which I was promised in reply to this review.

The whole process was smooth, and the team dealt with all our requests brilliantly, even at very short notice. They were always flexible and helpful, giving us access to the property whenever needed so we could arrange quotes for plastering and electrical work. Thanks to their support, everything went through much faster than we expected. I also rented through Oakton Estates and always found them alert, responsive and helpful whenever any issues came up. They were also very flexible when we were moving into our new property, which meant we didn’t end up paying more rent than necessary. Highly recommend.

From the very start of the process they kept us informed on progress with regular updates so we could relax and enjoy the process in what can otherwise be a very stressful time. Importantly, they achieved the sale quickly which was what we wanted. Will highly recommend them!

Our flat sale was not straightforward - a listed leasehold going through major works, but they dealt with the complexities perfectly and made the whole experience a lot more manageable. When complexities arose, they would be the first on line to be coordinating a way through to ensure that the whole process was as easy as it could be for us. If I was selling again, I'd certainly pick Charles Rose. Thank you ????????????

9th Jun 2026 (13 days ago)5 starts purely for Kyra Naomi, we ended up enduring a 9month sale that was not straight forward and Kyra was attentive the entire time. Most people in this situation would give up or not be bothered as it took so long but Kyra was always on the phone or available by text never an issue. Great employee. TA did not act on behalf of me but Kyra was great to deal with.

Matt was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, explaining every detail about the ins and outs of each area and property type and he even stayed past closing time on a Saturday afternoon to help us! Thank you so much, it's great to experience a personal and attentive service even when there wasn't a potential sale on the cards on the day! I can see why Crabb Curtis has so many 5* reviews

7th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)From start to finish, everything was handled exceptionally well and Margetts are definitely the right estate agents to use if you want a personalised and stress-free experience. The team are all friendly yet professional. Oliver has exceptional local knowledge of the area and is honest and realistic about pricing properties to sell. Ray was fantastic in keeping us up to date, he excels in communicating effectively and regularly. Margetts are a good example of the importance of using a local estate agent, it really makes a huge difference to the overall process. We have previously used Margetts as our letting agent and again they excelled in keeping us informed and streamlining any issues in a solution focused manner.
