17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

20th May 2026 (30 days ago)Clarke Gammon provided exceptional service - always professional, excellent communications and were a calming influence over a process that is traditionally fraught with nothing but stress and frustration. I feel they went above and beyond at every step to ensure we were reassured and communicated with from start to finish. At each point in the process and with any member of staff we spoke to, we got the same level of service and knew that everyone was fully briefed on our situation, meaning we could speak to anyone and they would be able to answer our questions, rather than waiting for our contact to be back. Something particularly helpful when you need answers quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Clarke Gammon to anyone looking to sell or buy, they made the process almost enjoyable!

Rachelle, Stuart and the team were excellent throughout the process, always keeping us fully informed on viewings, feedback at every stage from instruction through to exchange and completion. We would not hesitate to recommend Hamptons.

We had a lot of questions for being first time renters and he was more then happy to answer every single one. Very professional and friendly, definitely recommend him if you’re looking to rent soon. He goes above and beyond for his clients. He has got us exactly what we wanted both times. The whole team are excellent and willing to help you ??????

I chose them because they are a long-established local firm, knew the area thoroughly and in fact had sold my house before. Their realistic pricing and excellent negotiating skills, always in consultation with me, secured a sale I was very happy with. I recommend them very highly and am very grateful to them.

Mark kept me updated at every single moment of each transaction via phone call and/or email ensuring the whole process went through stress free. Recently I have used them to find a new tenant and to sort out redecoration in a very short space of time which they did brilliantly. Both Tracy and Charlotte have been very helpful, proactive and kept me updated with each development. I highly recommend them.
16th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)Absolutely appalling service. Catherine, who was supposed to show us around the property we had arranged to see was short and rude from the moment we met her. She refused to answer any questions we had about the property, didn’t seem at all interested in actually displaying the property to us and spoke horribly to us during the brief time we had with her. Avoid this agency at all costs if this is the standard they hold themselves to. Honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had with an estate agency.

20th Feb 2026 (17 weeks ago)The property was on the market for a year, during a slow market. Their original price was high but probably more accurate of a property in their core area of Liphook. But over the time I saw their knowledge often area grow with a dedicated contact. As a shift working they worked with me on email and that suited me fine.

The team will work around your work hours and preferences, ever disappointing. I wish them the very best and look forward to buying our bigger house through them in future.
2nd Jun 2026 (17 days ago)10/10 – I would recommend Bourne in Godalming without hesitation. We initially had our house on the market with another agent who unfortunately wasn’t able to sell it. After switching, the difference was night and day. From the outset, the team (Adrian, Jim, Tilly) were proactive, communicative, and genuinely invested in getting the best outcome for us. They kept us updated throughout, were always available to answer questions, and worked incredibly hard to keep things moving. Selling and buying a house can be stressful, but their professionalism, persistence, and support made a huge difference. We’re delighted with the result and very grateful for all their help. If you’re looking for an estate agent who is responsive, proactive, and goes above and beyond, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

6th Jun 2026 (13 days ago)Molly was always friendly, responsive and professional in her dealings with us, and we have no criticism of her personally. Unfortunately, our overall experience as buyers was very disappointing. The negotiation process lasted several weeks and involved multiple competing parties, repeated changes in position and prolonged uncertainty. We remained fully engaged throughout, including while away on holiday, and ultimately increased our offer in order to secure the property. Our offer was accepted, the property was taken off the market and we immediately proceeded with ID checks, mortgage arrangements and the other steps expected of a committed buyer. We did so in good faith and on the basis that the transaction was moving forward. However, despite the property being off the market and the sale progressing, we were ultimately gazumped by a higher offer and the vendors chose to proceed elsewhere. We appreciate that estate agents have a duty to pass on offers and that gazumping is legally possible before exchange of contracts. However, what disappointed us most was the lack of certainty and expectation management throughout the process. From a buyer’s perspective, the transaction felt unnecessarily drawn out and poorly controlled, resulting in considerable wasted time, effort, expense and emotional investment. Whilst Molly was courteous throughout, the overall handling of the transaction left us with little confidence in the agency’s ability to provide buyers with any meaningful degree of security once an offer has been accepted.
