10th Apr 2026 (26 days ago)I had a very disappointing experience with Bourne Estate Agency. While everything was smooth during our stay at the property, the issues began after we vacated. We left the property on the agreed date, handed over the keys properly, and fulfilled all expectations set by both the landlord and the agency. However, it has now been nearly 3–4 months, and we have still not received our deposit back. We have repeatedly reached out via email to request updates and an estimated timeline, but have received little to no meaningful response. Most of the time, we only get automated replies stating that the concerned person is not in the office. This level of communication and lack of accountability is extremely frustrating. If someone is unavailable, there should be a proper system in place to handle tenant concerns this is not something tenants should have to deal with. As per UK regulations, deposits should be returned within a reasonable timeframe after the tenancy ends, which has clearly not been the case here. Overall, I am very disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I would not recommend this agency based on my experience.
31st Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Deal with this estate agent will be nightmare you prepare to be. just bought a house in guildford. given the offer to the seller. the estate agent pushed price and arrange unrealistic exchange and completion date. this results in the seller withdraw the listing. half year later, the seller is ready to sell. the estate agent disclosure both the sellers and buyers personal information to financial brokers and insurance thirdparties for marketing. during the communication with them, it is hugely unreliable and unfriendly. no customer service and professionalism. at the completion date, the sellers cannot give keys to estate agent and the buyers waste time to wait for the keys to be given. completely rubbish. both the sellers and buyers should be avoid..

8th Feb 2026 (12 weeks ago)I felt the agent had a lack of knowledge and understanding of our local area, and was too focused on metrics rather than seeing the advantages of our particular property over some of the other properties around us. I felt there was too much pressure being put on us to drop our asking price after only a few weeks in.

Being new to the country, I was unfamiliar with the rules and requirements for securing accommodation, but Lilly from Foxtons Guildford was an absolute lifesaver. She went above and beyond her job description—she actually met me at the train station and drove me to several different viewings, which was incredibly helpful as I was still finding my way around. She took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and found the perfect home for me. As English is not my first language, I was worried about the complicated paperwork, but Lilly was so patient. She explained everything in very simple, clear terms so I felt confident in every decision. Even after the deal was closed with the landlord, she has stayed in touch to make sure I am settled. Grantley’s has been the most responsive and professional lettings agents and management company that I have experienced. If I had a buy to let, I would use them. I’m really going to miss my chats with Samantha. Hopefully one day I will either rent a place managed by them or, if fortunate enough, have a buy to let that they manage.

Not much more to say, I guess more money was the ‘profile’ that won! Also as days lapsed communication went sour. And since they never contacted us regarding any new properties, effectively loosing interest!

He was clearly very knowledgeable about the property and the wider purchase process, and was always happy to answer questions or talk things through. Importantly, I never once felt pressured. He struck exactly the right balance between being proactive in keeping things moving and available when needed, without ever coming across as pushy or overly sales-driven. Thanks to his approach, the purchase progressed smoothly and completed successfully, which made the whole experience feel far more straightforward than I had expected as a first-time buyer. Jennifer and Clare at Surrey Abodes were not only very professional at all times but were also mindful of the stress I was under and never rushed me or put me under any pressure. They were kind and considerate. Clare would make sure I was update with everything and explained and advised in a way that was easy to understand. They will be honest with you about your property but there is no hard selling tactics. Surrey Abodes is a small independent Estate Agents and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
