5 stars due to Dave at the Withington Branch. His experience , calm manner and understand was key in my decision to proceed with Bridgfords. I hope his tireless work is recognised by his bosses as it was not uncommon to receive emails from Dave at 9pm! Property was let with only a 3 day break in between tenants. Thanks Dave!

Worst service we have ever had letting a place. Even makes me wonder if the other reviews are real or it is just than the sales and the letting department are completely different.
Problems started even before moving. We were supposed to moved in on the 15th of December. The 4 of us asked for the day off at work to do all the moving. When we arrived at the agency they look at us puzzled as they expected us a couple of days later even if all the emails that THEY sent us the date was clear. Despite agreeing on the move 3 weeks before the actual move, they didn't do the "background check" yet, so we could not move in that day but the day after.
Even if you think that that's already a big unprofessional thing, I have to tell you that that was a minor problem compared with the rest. We were shocked by the poor efficiency and communication. When we moved in several things were not right and (Obviously) said that they were going to be fixed in the next few days. Just to mention one, one of the rooms was missing a door handle. Meaning that if the door closes, you couldn't open it from inside. As you can imagine that is a big safety issue and even one day I had to leave work and come to rescue one of my housemates as she got trapped in her room. After several emails, several phone calls, and several trips to the agency. 6 months after the issue was reported we decided to fix it ourselves. The maximum that we got is "We are waiting for a quote". Unbelievable.
And that's just to mention two of the problems that we had. Other problems were things like:
- The house was not clean when we moved in (Previous tenants left forks, cookware, broken microwave etc...)
- We had a broken fridge when we moved in which was replaced with a fridge with half of the capacity (small fridge for 4 people, jokes...). The old fridge was left in the house and the option that they gave us to get rid of that was "Just leave it outside the house and somebody will pick it up at some point"
- When we renewed our contract, two tenants signed one copy, and two of the tenants signed another different copy (in the agency) when they realised it... the two first ones had to come back to sign it again....
Wrapping up... it was just a constant feeling of unprofessional behaviour that you don't expect when you are paying a well known company. The things that annoys us the most, it's the difference when you were contacting them at the beginning (really nice emails, quick replies) and when you were contacting them because of big issues (like the door handle) where no answer was the most typical answer.
We felt that they always were kind of "blaming" another colleague or part of their company (Bridgfords does not do "house management" officially but they have a company from their group, countrywide which does it for them). And for me that's jokes. You cannot have such a bad communication within your company....
Just to finish the experience as we started it.... it took us 50 days (and.... around 10 phone calls and 5 emails), from leaving the house to finally get them to tell us how much of our deposit they were taking.
I would not recommend this to anybody and I wonder if that is actually representative of what Bridgfords is.
EDIT: I just wanted to included that after 10 WEEKS of leaving the property they were late for the check out report (10 days was written in our contract, it took them over 3 weeks), and after agreement on the part of the deposit to return so far 35 days have passed when it´s meant to be a maximum of 28 days (And it´s still not in our account).
THE DAY AFTER I wrote this, and I emailed customer care I got a call apologizing and with the promise that the whole process was going to be faster. More lies.
To sum up this is your perfect choice of letting agent if you want to be chasing people all the time for even the most minimal thing and if you love to be treated really badly.
