18th Dec 2023 (18 weeks ago)They manage the property above my house and they are useless. Their tenants are constantly littering in my garden and they refuse to get involved. The small 1 bed flat is occupied by many adults and children. Avoid at all costs.
8th Apr 2024 (17 days ago)The flats I visited before moving in looked perfect, with brand new carpet and freshly painted walls. However, my experience after moving in was far from ideal. The boiler stopped working, and I had to endure almost a week without hot water or heating for me and my toddler. It was challenging to bear the cold weather without heating, and we had to rely on electric heaters to keep ourselves warm. In addition to the boiler issue, the kitchen boards were falling, which posed a safety hazard to my son. I reported this issue to the agent, and it took them over a week to fix it. The delay in fixing this issue was frustrating. At one point, the agent accused me of staying in the bathroom too long, causing the water to get cold. This confused me because it was just me and my son, and we only used the bathroom briefly. Despite explaining my situation to the agent, they did not take me seriously, and it felt like they thought I was making up the issue. After experiencing intermittent heating and hot water, a new boiler was installed, which seemed relief. However, a new issue with the pipes responsible for producing hot water arose, resulting in me heating the house but still taking cold showers in winter. Despite raising these concerns periodically, no one seemed to take them seriously, leading them to believe I was either fabricating problems or being dishonest. Furthermore, I reported a leak in the sink and an unstable toilet seat to the agent, but they did not believe my claims. After a week, they did send a plumber to fix the sink and toilet seat, but no one called me to inform me that they were coming. This was frustrating as I had to stay home and wait for them to finish. Overall, my experience with the flats was disappointing. It felt like the agent did not care about the tenants. Once I moved in, it seemed like they did not take my concerns seriously, and it was disheartening. I hope that in the future, the agents will prioritise the safety and well-being of their tenants.

Cancelled an appointment as I was dealing with a stroke patient and I had a massive leak in my ceiling and he turned up anyway; tried forcing his way into my property when I told him he wasn’t coming in as I’d cancelled the appointment prior to his arrival. In the end blocked all of your moves numbers and never felt so happy *Edit - reply to lisa* Hi Lisa, Lee works at your move Walkden Branch - I had all of my information removed from Your move as there was a breach of GDPR and head office took my information off the system with immediate effect. I was being rung off numerous numbers by the man stated above out of office hours whilst I was heavily pregnant

I deal with Christabel regularly as a tenant in long residence at one of the Thornley Properties. Dealing with admin relating to tenancy, which at the end of the day is a “home” is never an easy thing to do, it’s incredibly anxiety inducing and also daunting. Effectively Christabel is the go between of communication between myself and the landlord. I’m in a very personal situation of ill health at the moment, and Christabel has been nothing short of a diamond asset. In 20 years of dealing with letting agents, some are intrusive, rude and treat you as a commodity . Christabel is the first and leading lady who has been kind, personal and approachable, and I feel comfortable communicating with her all my personal circumstance and business. She’s efficient and quick moving. I would like this to wholeheartedly be recognised by management especially with my case individually. I’m willing for somebody to contact me should they require further endorsement of Christabel’s positive impact on my tenancy. I wish her all the best ongoing.

They've been absolutely Amazing and kept us updated as much as they could, we're first time buyers and everything went super smooth, Zoe was absolutely fabulous and replied to emails almost instantly, cooke and company allowed us to view the property multiple times to get measurements and check different things within the house. 18th Mar 2024 (5 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Sadly inside two years I had to call upon their services again to sell the flat when my mum passed away. Their care, sensitivity and respect during the whole process was magnificent. Due to probate it took much longer than needed but they kept in contact frequently and held my hand throughout. I am truly grateful for your support. Jacqui and her team are simply The BEST....keep watering that plant Jacqui.
