19th Aug 2026 (30 days ago)I previously used this agency to rent a property in London, so when my husband later decided to sell the house in Henley, I was happy to use them again. The agency and a particular agent were recommended to us, and the process started relatively well. My husband’s application was accepted, and all the agents from the Henley office came to view the house.<br>Unfortunately, once a buyer was found, the whole experience changed. The team seemed to switch their attention entirely to the buyer and completely forgot about us — the people actually selling the property and, of course, paying their fees.<br>It was extremely frustrating. Our emails were often ignored, getting through to someone by phone was difficult, and we regularly had to go into the office simply to remind them that we were still there and needed updates.<br>We did everything we could to make the sale as easy as possible for the buyers. We moved out within a very short timeframe and even left them the washing machine, tumble dryer and various other items as a gesture of goodwill like expensive wooden blind and shutters. Despite this, we often felt that the agents were speaking to us as if we were children rather than their clients — the people paying their commission.<br>The buyers seemed to make one request after another, and the agents showed enormous interest in accommodating them, while speaking to us in a dismissive and sometimes rather disrespectful way. At times, it felt as though our needs and circumstances simply didn't matter.<br>Overall, it was a very useful experience in terms of learning what to expect from an estate agent, but it was also extremely stressful. We were genuinely disappointed by the agency and, most of all, by the way we were treated once the buyer had been found.<br>I would strongly recommend that the agency remembers that a successful sale involves two sides, and both deserve the same level of communication, professionalism and respect.

By far the most helpful, friendly and efficient were David Tate. Sylwia in the Goring office was very attentive and when we found the right property she guided us through the tenancy and referencing process. She was communicative and positive. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and her colleagues.

Ben Baker was excellent from first meeting through to eventual Completion - polite, reliable and efficient, as also were Ceri and his support team. Moving after 34 years was always going to be challenging, but Hamptons made the whole process much easier for us. We are glad we chose them.

He always seemed to know exactly what was going on at any given moment, kept us informed, and was incredibly quick to deliver on anything he said he would do. We never felt like we needed to chase him for an update, which made such a difference during what can otherwise be a stressful process.<br><br>Charlie genuinely went above and beyond the remit of his role to help keep everything moving and make sure we got to completion. His communication, professionalism and willingness to help were outstanding from start to finish.<br><br>Jayson Wicks also deserves a special mention for his support throughout the process and for helping everything come together.<br><br>A huge thank you to Charlie, Jayson and the team at Parker’s Chinnor. We’re incredibly grateful for everything you did to help us get the keys to our first home. Would absolutely recommend!

Nick managed to untangle all the problems and today we exchanged contracts ????????????????????????<br>All the staff went above beyond and I cannot recommend them highly enough for their professionalism and compassion when things didn't quite go to plan.
11th May 2026 (19 weeks ago)We’re very grateful to Zoe for helping us finally get our purchase over the line after an extremely stressful seven month process, despite there being no chain involved. Zoe was persistent, proactive and supportive throughout, always chasing updates and keeping us informed even when communication from the sellers, NatWest, as well as their own solicitors, was extremely poor. We honestly don’t know how she managed to deal with them for so long, they were repeatedly unresponsive and very difficult to progress with. One thing we would say to anyone considering buying a repossession property is to think very carefully beforehand. The property remained on the market the entire time, our offer price was publicly displayed online, and viewings continued while we were already deep into the process. As first time buyers, this added a huge amount of unnecessary stress and uncertainty. Unfortunately, this was something Connells failed to make clear to us before we became financially involved with our solicitors and the purchase process. Despite all of that, the team at Connells were genuinely helpful and did what they could once they understood what we were dealing with. Zoe especially went above and beyond to finally get us into our home.
7th Feb 2025 (1 year ago)After minimal success with our first Agent in selling our house, we chose to move to 'James Gesner Estate agents' due to their knowledge of Wallingford and the surrounding area and specifically one area. Having the team represent our sale, and then to find us a property in the area we were looking to move, I would comment that James and the team were exceptional. The data (marketing report) that they provide against the sales element was informative, the viewings that they conducted, were very professional and the correspondence was always relevant, and always available. James is very knowledgeable where it matters and worked tirelessly in supporting both the house sale and purchase, and I felt that he really went above and beyond in providing a great service and doesn't seem to switch off by providing updates whilst in Mexico. James Gesner Estate Agency will certainly be first on my list for any House sales/Letting.

From the very beginning she was friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable, without ever making us feel rushed or pressured.<br><br>Once we'd found our home, Karen was there to help us throughout the whole process, keeping things moving and supporting us right through to completion.<br><br>Thank you Karen and everyone at White Lion Residential.
20th Sep 2025 (11 mo. ago)I recently viewed a property I was very interested in and made it clear I wanted to put in an offer and in a chain-free position. Despite this, the agent sold to a buyer involved in a chain. When I asked whether it would have been better for their vendor to receive multiple offers, I was told “of course we will take two sales over one.” When that sale later fell through and the property came back to market, I was contacted to view again. Unfortunately, the exact same situation occurred again. I was apprehensive to move forward given the previous time and again, whilst in discussion with the agent, not given a fair opportunity to put in an offer, while the agent managed to reconnect the chain. I understand that the market is difficult, but prioritising an internal double-deal over the vendor’s best interests feels deeply underhand. If I were the seller, I would be furious to learn this was happening. On a separate note, I was taken aback by the line of questioning I received during the viewing. Being quizzed about my age and affordability, along with comments like I “only look about 15”, came across as unprofessional and demeaning. It left me feeling uncomfortable and put me off wanting to view further properties with this agent.

I highly recommend.

A number of viewings carried out speedily and feedback provided in a timely manner. All staff were friendly and approachable. Great teamwork apparent.

After meeting with several estate agents, it was clear that Luke was the right person to handle our sale. He quickly understood the property, set out a clear strategy, and impressed us with his honesty, flexibility, and ambition.<br><br>Communication was excellent throughout, with Luke always available to answer questions and offer guidance. Tiffany was also a pleasure to work with, helping with viewings and queries, while Mark provided great support whenever Luke was away.<br><br>We accepted an offer within days, and despite a few inevitable hurdles before completion, the process was smooth overall thanks to Luke and the team. We would have no hesitation in recommending Thomas Merrifield to anyone looking to move in the area.

No question was ever too much, and they really felt like allies in what can be quite a lengthy and stressful process. After making an offer that was accepted, Matt was instrumental in liaising with the property owner for access to the property before completion in order to complete renovation works. He communicated well, responded to requests in a timely manner and nothing was too much trouble. And he answered his phone when I rang. We moved in on July 29th and couldn't have done it without his help.<br><br>I would have no hesitation in recommending Matt and Knight Frank in Henley if you're buying or selling property in this area.
18th Aug 2026 (4 weeks ago)I think it depends what partnership you have, I one I had the sales pitch was great but the communication throughout once I signed up with them was terrible, at one point t after I chased and chased for feedback after 1 week after a viewing they told me I had an offer, yes it was very low, but I was never told.- 11th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)If you want to sell a property and know they're doing all they can to help, Chancellors in Thame are the best. They didn't just want to keep reducing the price like others did, they had made a huge effort to sell for the right amount.

As long-term tenants, what has stood out most is their professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for both the property and the people living in it. A special mention has to go to Ellen Horsley, who has been an exceptional point of contact throughout our tenancy. Ellen is always approachable, responsive, and incredibly efficient. Whether it’s been routine queries, maintenance requests, or general support, she has handled everything promptly and with a friendly, reassuring attitude. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and truly values building good relationships with tenants. The agency as a whole has been organized and transparent, making the renting process smooth and stress-free over the years. Communication has always been clear, and any issues have been resolved quickly and professionally.
