17th Jan 2022 (4 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

She was always very informative with new properties that she thought might be right for us and every viewing we attended to Katie was always there waiting to greet us and ready to showcase the property to it’s full potential. Once we found are property Katie was amazing in helping us with every step of the way. She made the whole process very easy with constant support and communication between us chancellors head office and our new landlord. We truly appreciate everything Katie done for us and can only describe her as totally amazing and wonderful in her role as a chancellors letting agent . I do hope all your agents across the country are as wonderful as Katie. Thank you very much Katie you’re a star ??

17th Feb 2026 (18 weeks ago)We have rented out a property for some time; Hamptons have been the managing agent. The Letting Office have always been helpful and informative; in particular Sonja Broderick who always has time to listen to us. During our time we have had a number of property managers; currently Antony Bacon. Have to say Antony has been the best! He has been pleasant and helpful particularly now when we are dealing with a leak which had gone undetected for some time. He understands how we are feeling about the whole thing, is communicative with progress, and always willing to chase contractors to keep things moving.

Ben Baker was excellent from first meeting through to eventual Completion - polite, reliable and efficient, as also were Ceri and his support team. Moving after 34 years was always going to be challenging, but Hamptons made the whole process much easier for us. We are glad we chose them.

George gave feedback after every viewing as did Margaret. Margaret was on it when it came to moving the chain forward. After dealing with various agents before, we cannot fault their communication which really is key when buying/ selling. We were really impressed and would recommend. Thank you all - a really great team

30th May 2026 (26 days ago)Top notch experience renting through them. They have been as quick as humanly possible arranging for any emergencies to get resolved and their staff go above and beyond. Our fridge broke down during a heatwave, James went to Slough for a replacement when there weren't any that would fit in the local stores. When out of hours issue have come up Emma has been super patient and responsive. All together, everyone we have interacted with has been stellar.
27th Feb 2026 (17 weeks ago)We chose Bevilles to sell our much loved Edwardian property because of their long standing reputation as an outstanding estate agent. We were not dissappointed: We did not have a straightforward sale by any means, but Bevilles provided wise counsel throughout. They just have so many years' experience selling in Sonning Common and the neighbouring villages. They know the area and everyone knows them. It is not just Richard, but the whole team who work together and are always there when you need them. After two buyers pulled out and then seemingly endless viewings, our sale ended up in a bidding war. We were extremely pleased with the winning buyer who clearly loved the property as much as we did. We felt that, thanks to Bevilles, we were able to leave our rather special house and garden in very good hands.

28th May 2026 (28 days ago)We’ve been in contact with Elliot Gold , one of their agents who was really unprofessional with us . There was an issue with our rent agreement which caused a lot of frustration for us and the landlord and Eliot didn’t understand our side so we felt that their agent doesn’t understand the real estate laws properly. I wouldn’t choose them as a landlord or as a tenant.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Helpful at every stage of the process, shared his local knowledge, was always frank about any challenges that we would encounter, and even introduced us to the local community. Couldn’t recommend him and River Homes highly enough.

No question was ever too much, and they really felt like allies in what can be quite a lengthy and stressful process. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Henne in particular deserves a mention - she really helped when our chain was dragging by communicating up and down the line and keeping us informed every step. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Jason is extremely professional, has a wealth of knowledge and has a thoughtful approach to marketing and sales. He made contact regularly and if there was no news he would still touch base and give valuable advice to ensure the sale carried on quickly and efficiently which it certainly did. This was a somewhat emotional sale for me and I felt fully supported all the way through which was invaluable and very much appreciated. I would, without hesitation, highly recommend Knight Frank in Henley.

They supported me during a very difficult and stressful period when my previous landlord served me with a Section 21 notice and I urgently needed to find suitable accommodation for my family. From the very beginning, the team was professional, understanding, and respectful. The agent took the time to listen to my circumstances, treated me with kindness and dignity, and worked hard to help me find the right property. Their communication was excellent throughout the process, and they were always available to answer questions and provide reassurance when needed. Moving home can be an overwhelming experience, but the support and guidance I received made the process much smoother and less stressful. I am very grateful for their help and for the genuine care they showed during a challenging time. Thank you for your professionalism, patience, and outstanding customer service.
