22nd Jan 2026 (15 weeks ago)We saw a property for let online, and last week my partner reached out to the agency to request a viewing and ask what documents were needed for the application. We were told we’d get an email with the details, but never received a response. After ome week I followed up asking for both a reply and a viewing, but again, nothing. Honestly, it’s not surprising the property has been on the market for almost a year—prospective tenants shouldn’t have to chase basic communication. Because of this lack of professionalism and responsiveness, we decided to look elsewhere and won’t be dealing with this agency.

The young man, Diandre, at first couldn't have been nicer and he really didn't do anything wrong but the overall handling of our viewing experiences was just unnecessary and a waste of our time, and theirs in the end. Lettings Agents like these only want young full time workers to deal with. People who have a job to lose, are somehow are a safer bet than an older stable couple with checkable histories. Suffice to say they did enough to ensure we didn't call it outright discrimination but the end answer was "no" even if we could easily have afforded the two properties we were interested in. And we showed several times that we could. Be warned, if you have ANY type of benefit within your income (including salaryand atate pension, these people will not treat you fairly and you will not even be allowed to progress to referencing, their answer to you will always be "no". They'd rather lose tens of thousands of pounds per tenant than rent to older, sensible people who.can clearly afford the rent. It is truly shocking how we have been treated. Do not rent with them, if you value transparency, stability and respect you will be disappointed and they will waste your time and tell you "No. Just no", was the last word. Not that we had failed any checks or had bad refs. So disappointing for us and our children. They feel like we have done something wrong.

18th Jan 2026 (15 weeks ago)I do not recommend it. We lived in the Newlands Park property that they manage in London for 5 years. The owner invests 0 in the property. During the winter, the toilet gets a lot of mould due to the humidity. We always asked them to fix it, and they never did; we fixed it ourselves, as both my husband and I have respiratory issues. They were always very, very slow to respond to issues we had with the property; we had to chase them all the time. In fact, during our last month in the property, a water pipe that always been damaged broke again because the person the send to fix it only puts tape, and doesn't fix it properly By the 3rd year, they wanted to increase the rent, and you’d think, yes, that’s fair, but again, the landlord never wanted to reinvest in the property, even though it clearly needed a decent investment. We were very reluctant to allow them to increase the rent, as the property NEEDS a lot of repairs. No double glazing, so the property is not energy efficient. The cellar has mould, so anything you put in there gets ruined by it. The wood in the kitchen window and the bath is rotten, never got fixed During our last year (2025), in May, THEY LIED and told us the owner wanted to sell the property; we were thinking of leaving the country anyway, so we were okay with it. They told us we had to leave by August. However, the timing was not right, as we had some travel planned. We managed to get an extension until November, sorted out our move and work situation, and moved to Spain at the end of November. And to add, they took 1.5 months to return our deposit. My husband had to chase them a couple of times, and the last time he told them that if the deposit wasn't returned by the 9th of Jan, he would escalate it. they didn’t even return all of it. , and guess what? The property is now available TO RENT £150 more expensive, and with all of the issues we flag and they and the landlord haven’t fixed them at all. AVOID!

The team were professional, approachable, and communicated clearly at every stage.<br><br>Andre and Jay deserve special recognition for their excellent service. They were proactive, clear, and reliable throughout, helping ensure everything progressed smoothly to completion.
14th Apr 2026 (21 days ago)I've recently bought my first home through Truepenny's in Charlton. Through the process of viewing properties I've met a good few estate agents and I have to say David at Truepenny's came across as the most honest and straightforward. No estate agent script or nonsense, no opening of cupboard doors and saying "look you've got a cupboard" (I've seriously had that before) and most importantly, no BS. I also thought the staff at Truepenny's went the extra mile, having seen the property online over the weekend I called the office on a Monday morning and they did a viewing the same day. And finally I was flying by a wing and a prayer at times to get everything across the line and I appreciated David's patience in all of that. I can highly recommend Truepenny's and would certainly use them if I was to sell or rent out my home in the future.

7th Apr 2026 (28 days ago)I knew Barnard Marcus had an agency in Peckham, it felt local. Liam (Small), the Manager, immediately booked an appointment to visit my apartment to discuss the sale. Liam clearly knew the building, knew the figures for all recent sales of apartments in the building. I was certainly invited to discuss the price at which I’d like to sell the flat. It was clear that Liam and Barnard Marcus knew how to sell online. All very professional, a price was set.
20th Mar 2026 (7 weeks ago)This is a horrible letting agency. They took all of our deposit, the entire two month deposit. £2500 gone. They WILL exploit you. They will take your money. I even paid close to £300 on the professional cleaning service that this good for nothing agency suggested. We paid all of our rents on time, all bills on time. Kept the property like we were living in our own home. If you are unfortunate enough to have to take a house with them i suggest you do not engage with agent called LUKE PEGG. if you are hearing from this man they will be taking your money. I hope this agency goes out of business. No one reads comments but if you are reading this AVOID SAMUEL ESTATE AND LUKE PEGG. Scam, exploitative, unprofessional.- 16th Mar 2026 (7 weeks ago)Buying and selling a property is already a very stressful time and I found this estate agents overall poor, and general lack of communication exasperated what should be a simple part of the process in relation to viewing properties. I contacted the agency a number of times requesting a viewing to not get through to anyone or told to wait for a callback. When I did finally receive the confirmation, communication issues persisted with no replies to queries, a dead phone line when trying to call, and even a closed office even though we could see someone sitting in there. I was often given the excuse of a tech issue, but no other route to contact them was offered. We were left standing in the cold waiting for the viewing and 15 minutes late the door opened and it appeared the estate agent was waiting inside the whole time. I was very disappointed in the service and even if I was interested in the property I would think twice before buying in case the poor communication carried on delaying the sale.
27th Sep 2025 (7 mo. ago)Very grateful to Stuart and Lewis at Bromley Property Company. They managed to sell my mother's house in less than a week for the full asking price. A very impressive feat given how tough the market is for sellers at the moment! They're extremely helpful, friendly people to deal with and did a great job of liaising between my mother and the buyer. To top it all off, their fees are much lower than most local estate agents. I'll definitely use Bromley Property Company when I sell my own property. Huge thanks, Stuart and Lewis!
29th Apr 2026 (6 days ago)I was selling an empty property so after a few people said the main bedroom was a little small I had to suggest to the agency to add furniture in the photos so people could Visualise how big and how much furniture you could actually fit in the bedroom. So after that was done the viewings picked up and I found a buyer .
2nd Apr 2026 (5 weeks ago)They made the process so much longer than it needed to be. Those in the office had no clue what they were doing. Very unprofessional and unreliable. I was told to go back and forth because of documents that they already had. Trash and do not recommend

They were professional, proactive, and clearly knew the local rental market extremely well. Within a short time, they secured a reliable tenant who met all my requirements, and the whole process was handled smoothly and efficiently. Communication was excellent throughout — I was kept updated at every stage and never had to chase for information. They made the entire process stress-free, from marketing the property to referencing and final paperwork, everything was managed seamlessly. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to let their property. Truly a 5-star service, and I’ll definitely be using them again in the future.

The buying turned out to take longer than expected, but throughout the process, Ashley and his team communicated proactively and were able to keep things moving. I really appreciated their friendly professionalism and would 100% recommend them.

I can honestly say the best estate agents I have ever interacted with and were key for keeping the whole process together. Tariq has fantastic knowledge of the local area and market and is one of the reasons our sale proceeded quickly. He is open and transparent and has highly developed diplomacy skills to really keep everything on track in the difficult moments. He also has some great members of staff who are very dedicated (always one of them in the office late whan I walk past) and they are good, clear communicators.
