12th Jul 2026 (22 days ago)We recently completed our home purchase, and we feel incredibly lucky to have had Ben guiding us through the process. Throughout the entire journey, he was exceptionally helpful, proactive, and responsive. He bridged the communication between us and the seller flawlessly, making what could have been a stressful experience run smoothly. We truly appreciate all his hard work and dedication.<br><br>The only negative aspect of our experience was dealing with Lifetime Legal, the third-party company Chancellors uses for AML checks. Right after our offer was accepted, while we were already managing a heavy flow of communication between the estate agent, solicitor, and mortgage broker, we were subjected to aggressive marketing tactics from Lifetime Legal. It felt overwhelming and unnecessary at such a busy time. I sincerely hope Chancellors considers finding a more customer-friendly AML check solution in the future.<br><br>That being said, every other member of the team we interacted with, both at the Thatcham office and the Chancellors headquarters, was highly professional, skilled, and efficient. Aside from the third-party AML check experience, the service provided by Chancellors was excellent, and I would gladly recommend them.<br>Thank you to everyone involved, and a special thanks to Ben!- 13th Jun 2026 (7 weeks ago)Daniel and the team in Winnersh were fantastic throughout the whole sales process. Despite a few hiccups and delays along the way, they remained positive and fully committed to getting things done. From the very beginning, Robbie was calm, cheerful and incredibly helpful, no matter what challenges came up during the sales process.<br><br>He kept us informed every step of the way, checked in regularly to make sure everything was progressing smoothly, and always offered clear, helpful guidance whenever we needed it. His positivity and excellent communication made what could have been a stressful process much easier.<br><br>We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Romans at Woodley to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. 28th Jul 2026 (6 days ago)I was surprised reading the positive reviews here. Perhaps we were unlucky. Buying a house through Farmer & Dyer was, at best, very disappointing. Our offer was accepted and things seemed to be moving. Then the seller pulled out of the new build they were buying, because they weren't happy with it once it was finished. We only found this out after chasing Farmer & Dyer ourselves, and getting hold of them was hard work in itself. What followed was a run of messages that never quite added up. First, the sellers would find temporary accommodation so we could exchange on a date they suggested. Then they couldn't book movers, so a new date was proposed. Then they had found another property that was moving quickly and exchange was imminent, though no date could be confirmed. Each of these updates came only after days or weeks of silence, and only because we chased. Our own agents at Romans, who were selling our property, rang round everyone in the chain and found the real position. Exchange was nowhere near, because there were another two properties further up. Worse, those parties had no idea a chain existed below them. Farmer & Dyer had never told them we were there. Whether the chaos came from the sellers or from Farmer & Dyer, I can't say. Either way, what we were told didn't match reality and nobody at Farmer & Dyer put us right. We completed in the end, and that was down to the lady at Romans, who kept chasing everyone and held the chain together long after anyone's confidence in the sellers and Farmer & Dyer had gone. Maybe the sellers were the root of all this. But keeping a chain moving, and keeping buyers honestly informed is the agent's job. Farmer & Dyer did neither. Weeks of silence, then vague promises, then dates that meant nothing. It was unprofessional from start to finish and it nearly cost us the house. I wouldn't let them near my property if I were selling, and I will never buy through them again.
24th Apr 2026 (14 weeks ago)DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. RUDE AND TRY TO INTIMIDATE STUDENTS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE. They are awful. Rude and confrontational. We have had multiple issues with the house they have rented us, saying its not their problem and that we should go to the landlady, when realistically they should help. we have been yelled at in the house we are renting from them in front of other potential tenants which not only was an embarrassing situation but also totally uncalled for and unprofessional just like when they opened my mail. when we complained about the viewing being over an hour late the "CEO" (Asiff) replying with "you have been complaining non stop so I am just going to ignore you". Disgusting human imo. THE ONE STAR IS FAKE.- 27th May 2026 (10 weeks ago)Chris is very professional, polite and personable.
