7th Apr 2026 (27 days ago)I enquired about a property I could comfortably afford, but the way I was spoken to by one staff member was completely unacceptable. While I understand there are legal procedures to follow, there is no excuse for being rude, raising your voice, or speaking to someone as if they are lying about their finances. A second staff member later called and explained the same procedures in a calm and respectful manner, which just highlights how unprofessional the first interaction was. Everything felt professional but also very personal — they really listened to what we wanted and worked with us, rather than pushing their own agenda. We never felt under pressure at any point, which made a big difference, and when we did need advice, it was always honest and helpful. Dawn was brilliant. She clearly knows the market inside out and gave us the confidence that we were pricing things right. Her advice led to a quick sale that genuinely reflected the value of our home, which is exactly what we wanted. The office team, with Emily leading things, were also fantastic. They kept us in the loop the whole way through and were always friendly and easy to deal with. What stood out was how well the team worked together — if someone wasn’t available, someone else picked it up straight away without any issues. They were a bit more expensive than some of the other quotes we had, but you can really see where the money goes. The photos, video, and overall presentation were a cut above and definitely helped showcase the house properly. All in all, a really positive experience — couldn’t have asked for much more. 10/10. As I live in a different Country I relied heavily on their involvement and I wasn't disappointed. Megan my main contact answered emails immediately, picked up the phone to my every call (there were many), she chased conveyancers throughout the chain, supported us through frustrations and even arranged the meter readings when they were due. Megan was so lovely and kind while maintaining her professionalism. I cannot recommend them enough. Also a shout out to the rest of the team who did the viewings, took meter readings, turned down the heating after a cold spell and generally kept an eye on an empty property.
15th Apr 2026 (19 days ago)I'm not sure why Oscars have so many good reviews, this was the reason I chose them. For me the service was below average when selling my house. Their communication is slow at times and not what I'd expect for a professional firm. After selling my house I sent them 2 emails which they did not even respond to which I found disappointing. I will not be using them again.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
