6th Sep 2024 (5 weeks ago)Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience in trying to sell our home in Basingstoke with Gascoigne-Pees. I have outlined the issues we encountered along with the categories you seek feedback for. Communication - We struggled to make contact with the agents after viewing or if we wished to discuss strategy. Promised call backs were often not made. It was frustrating. Valuation accuracy - Sadly, this was not great. The price at which we finally got offers was 12% lower than the original price we were advised we could achieve and within only 3 months of going to market. When we questioned this were were told it was due to "market forces" but we had placed our trust in Nic and Martina that they understood the local market and had advised us correctly. It did not feel that this was the case. Advertising of the property - We had no concerns with the photographs or listings on the property portals. We were concerned none of the original agents we dealt with showed the property. Those that did could not answer simply questions from potential buyers such as "Is there a chain?". Value for money - I believe the pricing structure is similar to many other local agents. Local Market Knowledge - Please see above for the concerns I listed in Valuation Accuracy.

They couldn't do enough including the small touches like giving us a care package when we collected the keys. They really helped to make the stressful experience of moving, less stressful. A fantastic park with lot's going for it, it is huge. It has a paddling pool for the kids. It has an area with big stone balls that are in fact fountains which the kids can play in. It has tennis courts for those that are interested. It also has the Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses which are a must see if you are into plants of any kind, I have written a separate review on this, and also I took quite a few pictures, if you are interested please go to my review Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. Also today I discovered the Walled Garden which is so beautiful, you will absolutely love it, it's well worth a visit, I have posted some pictures of it on here. However, Elise Griffin was absolutely fantastic, keeping us informed whenever complications arose, explaining what she was doing to help, and generally helping to smooth the path as best she could. This was in stark contrast to our own agent who was missing in action throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Waterfords.

He was very communicative and kept us fully in the loop throughout the entire process. We viewed the property a couple of times and he answered all our questions comprehensively and never rushed our viewings - something we valued a lot. At every point they have behaved with professionalism and integrity, and it's clear that is part of their management style as all employees were consistently professional. Key Contacts: Matt (Director) was very knowledgable and realistic, full of good advice. Sarah (Manager) she supported us in the sale of our house and kept us sane. Dawn (Move manager) pro-active in chasing down all the parties for getting in shape for exchange etc. They're also all just lovely people to work with, and very patient dealing with all the random questions and various hurdles that come along in the moving process.
