1st Jan 2026 (17 weeks ago)Stewart Oliver City Sales & Lettings is hands down the worst letting agency in Birmingham. They charged us the wrong amount and took payment immediately, despite the fact that no damage was caused at all — this happened on the first day. When challenged, they flat-out refused to admit their mistake or issue a refund. The staff in the office are rude, dismissive, and completely resistant. They have zero respect for customers and make no effort to listen or resolve issues. Every interaction feels like they are trying to intimidate rather than help. To make matters worse, they are letting commercial properties for residential use, which is extremely concerning and raises serious questions about the legality of their operations. This agency is unprofessional, unethical, and careless. They cause unnecessary stress and clearly do not care about tenants at all. Avoid at all costs.

Oliver worked with was professional, friendly, and very helpful throughout the whole process. He explained everything clearly, made the paperwork straightforward, and handed over the keys without any hassle. Overall, the service was smooth and efficient, and I felt well supported at every step. I’m very happy with how everything was handled and would definitely recommend Connells Birmingham to others looking for a property. Specially thanks to Oliver

23rd Apr 2026 (7 days ago)Do not rent from Davidsons. I lived in a property they managed for 5.5 years and returned it in very good condition, allowing for fair wear and tear. One of their agents even texted me how well I’d looked after the property. Despite this, they attempted to deduct £195 from my deposit for issues that were not mentioned in my checkout report and also that I had previously reported to the landlord as a maintenance issue. For transparency, I did accept to pay for one issue that was raised. When I queried this with Andrew Love, I was told to raise a dispute with the Deposit Protection Service rather than being willing to discuss it. Luckily I was able to prove that I had left the property as clean as when I moved in and DPS found that I was no liable to pay for a few things they had claimed for and that I should only pay 40% of the cleaning fee. I received the majority of the proposed deduction back. During my tenancy, I was wrongly told that I had missed a rent payment (luckily I could prove that I had paid). I found that communication to resolve this with the team was difficult. I called multiple times and was promised a callback each time that I never received. Eventually I mentioned to get through via email. Overall, the checkout process felt unnecessarily disappointing after a long tenancy. Based on my experience, I would recommend that future tenants document everything carefully and compare check-in and check-out reports before accepting any deductions.

Answered all of my questions and concerns, made the process very smooth and easy, great customer service. Would definitely recommend working with this company. She seemed very experienced and knowledgeable, looking forward to go ahead with their services for my property.

18th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)I recently completed the purchase of our 2-bed home in Canning Town with Stephen from Samuel King, and I honestly couldn’t recommend him more highly. From start to finish, Stephen was exceptional. He was proactive, transparent, and always one step ahead throughout the entire process. Buying a property can be stressful, but he made everything feel smooth and manageable, keeping us informed at every stage and always being available to answer questions. What really stood out was his attention to detail and genuine commitment to getting things over the line. He coordinated seamlessly with all parties involved and handled any issues quickly and professionally, which made a huge difference in keeping things on track. A great example of this was following our Level 2 survey, where a number of repairs were flagged that couldn’t realistically be completed before exchange. Stephen stepped in and negotiated on our behalf to secure compensation from the seller instead, making sure we were properly covered. That level of support and advocacy made a big difference and gave us real confidence throughout the process. It’s rare to come across someone so reliable and easy to work with in this process. If you’re looking to buy or sell, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Stephen and the team at Samuel King. A genuinely 5-star experience.
