Selling a substantial four-storey Grade II listed Georgian home in Bath was always going to be a significant undertaking but Sam handled every stage of the process with absolute professionalism, enthusiasm, dedication and care. From start to finish, he was incredibly responsive, helpful and reassuring. He went above and beyond to assist myself and the buyer throughout what was, at times, a lengthy process, remaining proactive, informative and solutions-focused. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Sam’s communication was excellent, his knowledge and advice were invaluable and his commitment to achieving the best possible outcome was clear throughout. He worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything moving and made a potentially stressful experience far smoother than it could have been. A huge thank you to Sam for doing such a fantastic job. Knight Frank in Bath are very fortunate to have him on their team and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an Estate Agent to buy or sell a property in Bath . 9th Apr 2026 (6 weeks ago)I let out my house through Cooper & Tanner for a few years due to having to move away. From start to finish they were great. They made the process of getting the house ready for and finding tenants easy and smooth to understand. During the time they were always in continuous communication and also understanding of both tenants needs and mine. I would recommend for others to use their services.

Their approach is subtle rather than pushy! And the recent sale bagged us a better price (even with a reduction) than other agents even valued the house at. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Nothing was too much trouble, and responding immediately to our inquiries. Nikki and Ben are a great team. We thoroughly recommend them. Ros and Peter
14th May 2026 (10 days ago)Criminally Inept. If I could leave a 0-star review, I would. This isn't just an isolated, irate and biased tenant. I was a shareholder in the PLC and have since sold all my holdings after this experience and discussion on a couple of local Facebook groups showed I was by no means the only tenant with complaints. My fellow flatmates were also highly dissatisfied. I was unfortunate enough to be a tenant in one of Martin & Co's properties over the past year and the whole experience has been awful; certain personnel (C.R.) there are indescribably inept and lazy. I ended up paying half a month's rent for a property that was promised to be ready, wasn't and then the painters and decorators M&Co had insisted on appointing, left a mess in the room. The house also had mould throughout and our emails to M&Co staff were ignored throughout. Not once did they bother to actually visit the property. Any tenant or landlord, I would advise to avoid Martin & Co at all costs.

He was proactive and very well prepared. I would highly recommend him.! I would absolutely recommend Moveli, over using one of the big impersonal high street chains
13th May 2026 (11 days ago)The agent who dealt with my property was very knowledgeable of the area. However, the price they suggested was obviously over the average which meant we had very little interest. After 12 weeks we only had 2 viewings. It was decided to take the property off the market after the property next door sold for much less. They offered a fair selling price percentage. The pictures were good as was the sales brochure, it was sadly over priced and did not sell.
15th May 2026 (9 days ago)the team have been very professional and sensitive to our situation, when selling our property. the valuation was fare and no pressure was put on us to use Wrights. I highly recommend Wrights, they know the Trowbridge market and we had lots of viewings , and in a short period of time a sale was agreed.
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
15th Dec 2021 (4 years ago)Tenants and landlords look no further. You will not find greater professionalism, swift communication, industry experience and teamwork anywhere in Bath. Nicola Wilkes (Lettings) and Sharon Clesham (Sales) run a very slick operation and whatever your needs (a new home to rent or letting a new or existing rental property) they will guide you through the process to complete satisfaction. I say this having been a landlord with them for many years and recently been introduced (by Nicola) to another investment opportunity. I am nothing short of amazed by the sleek communication between Sales and Lettings and myself (these ladies know more about property than anyone you’ll meet in Bath and they and their teams are a real pleasure to work with). What I want out of rental property is a great investment but ONLY if my tenants are happy. I need them well looked after and at the top of my agent’s priority list. With the Apartment Company tenants are the priority. And yet this outstanding company deliver more financially to me than any other agent we’ve used in Bath. If you don’t make money, they don’t make money so its a win-win. If you are a first-time landlord and considering a move to renting in Bath (but not sure the best way to go about this), talk to Nicola and Sharon. You won’t regret it. If I was buying a new home for myself, Sharon is the first person I’d call. One final thing…..I noticed a comment that they didn’t always call back if you made an enquiry. Well, if you are Bath’s premier property agency and everyone wants to talk to you, well, yes, you may have to wait a day or so for a reply to a speculative call. No-one wants a company whose sitting about waiting for the phone to ring, do they?! You want an agent whose out there keeping it together for people like me, like my tenants (at the height of a pandemic with vastly reduced staff). Always an impeccable service that goes beyond your expectations. Thank you Sharon and Nicola and everyone at The Apartment Company.
12th May 2026 (12 days ago)I rented a flat for 5 years, for the first half of that time it was managed by a different agency who were consistently kind, helpful, and easy to deal with. The experience changed completely when management switched to Carter Jonas. The fridge freezer in the property failed entirely. Despite reporting it immediately, I was left without a working fridge for over 3 weeks and all of my food and produce spoiled. No temporary solution was offered during that time, making day to day life unnecessarily difficult. I politely requested reimbursement in the form of supermarket vouchers for the spoiled items and was told no, the opening line of their email response being “sorry to hear you feel that way” spoke for itself. The attitude of the staff was rude and unprofessional at best. The point of contact I dealt with was dismissive and seemed incapable of taking a logical or human approach to anything. Every interaction felt cold, defensive, and unnecessarily difficult. I lived alone and took great care of the property. In those 5 years I never once caused any issues, breakages, or complaints. Despite this, and after moving out, they chose to withhold my deposit for 5 weeks, providing zero communication throughout. It was only after I contacted the Deposit Protection Service that my money was finally returned.
